  1.   Oh, I can defend his right to say what he said....   I can also defend his right to fully accept the consequences of opening his idiotic mouth. Just because one can say something doesn't mean that one should say something. Karma is a bitch.
  2. As usual, hipsters ruin everything.   Including Loveless Cafe... hasn't been worth the trip for quite some time now.
  3.     I'm up for it--   My girlfriend & I went out to O.K. Corral yesterday-- first trip out there in about a month or so. Since they built the 3 additional "HCP dedicated" pistol ranges, it's pretty easy to get on any of the other four pistol ranges. Also spent some time at the rifle range-- as always, had a great time on an absolutely beautiful Sunday afternoon.  Great place to shoot in the country.
  4.   Joe's Place has killer burgers...
  5.   me too!
  6. Dang... that's pretty sweet... how much does that furniture set run?
  7.   No, I try to avoid it most Saturdays because of all the HCP classes. I usually go on Sunday afternoon-- as a matter of fact I will be going THIS Sunday... give the rain a chance to move out, and there are usually fewer HCP classes out there on Sundays.
  8.     Unfortunately, these days most villages have drastically exceeded their quota...
  9. For what it's worth, I sent the university a rather scathing email ... probably didn't do much, but it eased my conscience a bit. By the time I had finished the email, the news crawler on their website had updated to the link I posted... my first thought was "now THAT'S service!"... even though I know that it was really just dumb luck & timing. :pleased:
  10.   Sounds good, I'm going for the 16" version myself. Just wondering if you've had any feeding issues with the rimmed cartridges? I know some folks have had issues with the standard box magazine on the Mosin-- I've never had issues personally, but then again I use stripper clips to load my mosin and I load the strippers with the rims alternating.
  11. Well, it ain't much, but it's a start.   FYI-- The administration has placed David Guth on leave. http://news.ku.edu/2013/09/20/guth-placed-administrative-leave   I guess that means he's still being paid though, and they'll probably just reinstate him when the dust settles, but at least this buffoon hasn't gotten off completely scot-free. The university has been getting quite a bit of unwanted attention over this.
  12. I'm holding out for the 7.62x54r version myself-- got more ammo than I can shoot right now for my Mosins-- thought this would be a fun alternative.
  13. Haven't seen a Walmart like that since Thanksgiving 2012...
  14. The ONLY version of Metropolis you need to see-- All of the public domain versions are chopped to hell and MUCH of the plotline is completely missing, making the story virtually impossible to follow. Kino's 2010 release includes over 20 minutes of crucial restored footage, which was completely lost until 2008, when a print of Fritz Lang's original cut was found in the film vault of an Argentina museum.
  15.   The relaxing drive out to the Cannon County countryside is half the fun!
  16.   All three are excellent choices (even though the last one is not a "war film").  I'm a big fan of the silent film era. "The Passion of Joan of Arc" is probably one of my favorites, along with, of course, the restored version of "Metropolis"-- after the missing footage was found a few years ago and re-installed into the film, the plot makes SO much more sense now.   Anyway, enough sidetracking-- back to the war films now...
  17. Wow. I thought it might have been a Caracal "C".
  18.     Sorry you had a bad experience. I haven't been to the Franklin Ky drive-in, but I understand that it's one of the older ones in the area, don't know how well they've kept up with the technology.   However, I've visited the Hwy 50 Drive-in in Lewisburg many many times (before it closed, soon to re-open) and it is probably the oldest Drive-in in middle TN. Always had a great time there, and no problems with picture or sound. Also, I frequently visit the newer Woodbury and Watertown drive-ins, and have always had great experiences.   Don't write off the whole genre because of one bad experience. :)
  19. If it's the top-mount laser, to me it's not worth it. These guns can be aimed pretty much the same as you would aim your index finger, even with the fixed sights.   I see the laser as being pretty useless on one of these.
  20. There are drive-ins in Franklin KY, Tullahoma, Watertown, Woodbury, Lewisburg, and Murfreesboro will be getting one next year. Used to be one out Dickson way, but I'm not sure if it's still there or not.
  21.   No worries, Chicago doesn't even need their antiquated gun registry any more. It was outdated and sucked up unnecessary city gov't resources.   Now that the NSA is compiling their own registry, Chicago can simply rely on the Feds to do the dirty work and it won't cost them a dime. See? Rahm is actually helping the Chicago municipal gov't to become more "efficient!" :tinfoil:
  22. I know my mind's in the gutter, but I just realized that if you remove the "12ga 00" portion of the original thread title, it totally changes the the paradigm of this whole discussion. :stunned:   Peculiar how funny the English language can be sometimes.
  23.   Seriously? Did you even bother to read my original post, or were you just trolling the post title? :screwy:    I sincerely appreciate the offer, but the jobless folks I'm referring to are in Colorado... and they ain't me!
  24. Not bad looking for an old Russian lady.
