  1.   Yep.   I posted them here last night:   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/77107-urgent-permit-less-car-carry-in-the-senate-tomorrow/page-6#entry1139308
  2.   And thanks largely to a "Jim Crowe" mentality by the powers that be, it has pretty much remained in place to this day. While the original intent may have been passed under the guise of preventing Southern insurrection during the period of Reconstruction, it was not aimed only at white Tennesseans. Representative Steve McDaniel's recent comments in the Memphis Flyer are indicative that this mentality still remains with some people. In their eyes, having a pay-to-play (e.g.-- permit) system helps keep "undesirables" from exercising a right to self defense, since the poorest in society usually can't afford to pony up the dough, or they have blemishes on their conduct records. I find the whole "OMG! A black man with a gun!" mentality to be utterly insulting to anyone with a grain of reason and common sense. Sorry, Rep. McDaniel, it doesn't take a freakin' genius to read between your lines.     Apologies in advance for this slight de-rail, I know this is the Car-carry thread, but regarding the general OC bill, this is how they all voted-- for the record (name links go to each Rep's Legislative profile page):   HB2409 by VanHuss - FINANCE, WAYS & MEANS SUBCOMMITTEE: Recommended for passage - refer to: Finance, Ways & Means Committee 4/10/2014 Failed           Ayes................................................1           Noes...............................................10           Representatives voting aye were: Hawk -- 1.           Representatives voting no were: Alexander, Armstrong, Brooks K, Camper, Fitzhugh, Harrison, McCormick, McDaniel, Odom, Roach -- 10.   Oddly enough, Charles Sargeant did not record a vote-- guess he figured it wasn't needed, or perhaps he was in cahoots to kill another bill in another committee somewhere that day.   Plain and simple, this was not government, this was politics. At least THREE NRA members in the "no" vote column... They are officially "Fudds" as far as I'm concerned.   Now regarding the car-carry, we can only hope that Haslam doesn't veto it-- and since the legislature will likely be out of session before the end of the signing deadline, I'd say there's a very strong chance that he may indeed put the axe to car-carry as well. Still hoping for the best, though.
  3. In contrast to his prior letter, it seems that somebody seriously yanked his chain. Although the spirit is still there regarding the fiscal process, the overall tone is incredibly different.
  4.   Patience...   The frequently used favorite tactic of the left, incrementalism, can work both ways... a little progress at a time is not as good as passing it all in one fell swoop, but it's better than going in the opposite direction. The killing of the general OC bill was a shame, as well as the "parks" bill, but there were several others that went through OK, including the knife rights bill. We'll get there eventually, just never give up-- the rights-grabbers never do, that's for sure.
  5. Gonna miss Barry for sure. IV8888 is one of the very few Youtube channels to which I actually subscribe. Gonna be some big shoes to fill to make up for his loss. Barry's family and the IV8888 crew are in my prayers. :usa:
  6.   Best post in this thread. :usa:
  7. I'm  sorry, but if you actually paid to have sex with any of the females pictured, then your poor taste and total lack of standards should be considered a much bigger crime than the actual cash transaction. Whatever happened to the concept of self-respect? I would think that it would be easier to find one's palm more attractive than any of these losers.
  8.   This.   The atmpsphere in that place is just a little too close to "Pulp Fiction" for me.
  9.   Sounds like it works right for your schedule. No 7-figures here yet, but working main job days and moonlighting as a musician keeps me pretty busy... and with little free time keeps me out of trouble for the most part. ^_^
  10.   Good for you. Time is money to me, and one brick isn't worth the time & hassle for me. I've got enough squirrelled away over the years that I'm glad I don't have to really worry about it in the current drought. Too bad some folks aren't as lucky.
  11.   That's because it's Gander Mountain... you need Windows 95 and Netscape Navigator 1.0 to access it. Anything newer will automatically re-direct you to Cheaper Than Dirt's website. :stir:
  12. Maybe the folks at Everything Weapons in Franklin have it tied up....
  13. Clearly, the authors of this survey did not take into account the "redneck factor." When they put a big red "Zombieland" blanket over the entire southeastern portion of the USA map, it tells me that they know absolutely nothing about southern culture or mindset, and that they've never been hunting on the opening day of dove season in Alabama (shoot anything that moves-- or not moving).
  14.   Personally, I think that you ARE being a smart consumer when you choose to avoid overpriced ammo and you let fellow shooters know why... so that they can make their own choice. All bitching and bashing aside, that is the original purpose of this thread. If they were selling corksniffer ammo at corksniffer prices, I doubt you would see people being so disgruntled about this. However, we're talking freakin' Armscor here-- not exactly the BMW of .22 rounds... They have a right to price it at whatever they wish, and I have the right to tell them to pound sand. Works fine for me.
  15.   I STILL think it looks more like an albino version of Mr. Peanut....
  16.     Flag that sucker as overpriced..... I did.
  17. If this doesn't explain it, nothing will.   http://youtu.be/tra3Zi5ZWa0
  18. I feel "intimidated" and "offended" by their (grabbers) epic ignorance.
  19. I'm pretty sure that Zimmerman's "15 minutes of fame" are up.   This would be somewhat akin to getting an autograph from Bernard Goetz.   :shake: :shake: :screwy:
  20. Thanks for posting the video. I have been talking to his brother (co-worker) and knew that he was back at home, but I hadn't seen his new video until now.
  21.   Which is the main reason that I ain't on it.
  22. hmmm... I had a simple address change (same town, same zip) and ordered a duplicate permit with my new address (was already on file with my DL)... 3 weeks now and nothing yet... got my new DL after only 5 days.
  23. Thanks for the clarification on origin of manufacture.
  24. Interesting. Last thing I saw was that it was made by Fiocchi.
  25. I don't do facebook-- for various reasons. This gives me one more good reason to never start using it. Even so, their half-hearted attempt to "regulate" firearms was enough of a cave to give the Chatty Cathys over at MDA something to crow about in a factually-distorted fashion.
