  1.   FWIW, I simply thanked them for adhering to state laws regarding firearms regulations. No mention by me one way or the other of whether I carry, plan to carry, whether I am pro- or anti-, whether I am a Kroger customer or not.   I got a canned response which mirrors their public response almost word-for-word.   Of course, there's always going to be someone who will pee in the pool simply for attention, and ruin it for everyone else.
  2. I Went to Kroger's website and sent them a big THANK YOU comment for telling MDA to go pound sand...
  3. I could recommend two very honest and top notch places in Murfreesboro, but not Donelson....
  4. Welcome to TGO, and yes, Thank you for your service. :usa:
  5.     oh, derp....
  6.   How the hell did you do that?
  7. I thought it was that for every time you get a star, God kills a kitten... glad I don't have any.
  8.   Oh, it's not a bad deal, really. And I'm sure lots of folks appreciate the heads-up from you. It's just that some of us have an axe to grind with Dick's for various principled reasons, and even if they were selling pallets of .22LR with no limit, they wouldn't get a penny from me. However, I don't frown on other folks who choose to shop there. It's a personal choice... not putting you down at all.   Sorry if the snarky mini-rants de-railed the thread-- hope you can snag as much 9mm as you need.
  9.   Be patient... we're working on that... but Rome wasn't built in a day. We have several folks in the legislature and executive branch that haven't quite "got it" yet, so it's going to take some time and effort to get things changed for the better. But hey, this year we just got 50+yr. old restrictions on knives removed, so there's always hope for the better.
  10.   There... since we are talking about Dick's, I fixed it for you.
  11.   I concur on all accounts.
  12. Welcome to Tennessee & TGO.   I live in the Murfreesboro area. As far as selection goes, for stand-alone gun shops Outpost Armory is a gunner's wet dream. However, If you shop around you'll probably find better prices on a lot of things-- that's not a poke at them-- they've never claimed to be the cheapest. Even so, the selection is pretty hard to beat, and most of the staff is quite knowledgeable, so it all depends on what you want to spend. In most cases, if they don't have it in stock, they can get it.   There are plenty of other shops in the area with varying selection, each serving its own little niche in the market... On-Target Arms in Murfreesboro, Specialty Arms in LaVergne,Mid-Tenn Pawn in Murfreesboro, and a few others. Obviously, as far as big box stores go, the Academy Sports in Smyrna is a good bet and stays well-stocked in the firearms/ammo dept.   If you're willing to drive a bit, there are many others in the Nashville area who can fill just about any firearms need you might have.   As far as transfers go, I haven't found anyone in Rutherford County who is cheaper than Mid-Tenn Pawn in Murfreesboro. $25 bucks.     As far as ranges go, my favorite is still OK Corral in Woodbury-- about 15-20 miles east of Murfreesboro. It's an all-outdoor range with several separate pistol ranges, a 10-bay covered 200-yd rifle range, two trap ranges, a hi-power/shotgun berm, and they're still expanding... You can bring your own targets (recommended), shoot your own loads, and no membership is required. The price? How about $5.00 for all ranges-- all day long? (The trap range has a separate charge for clays).
  13. Not really laughing.... just found this humorous.
  14.   Nice, but by the description you gave, it's a 100 percent chance that the spider is actually female. Now you've stressed out the spider with trans-gender confusion... next thing you know it'll be demanding government benefits.
  15. perhaps, but "kill it with napalm" is a little over the top for something that you simply "don't like", don't you think?
  16. The level of arachnophobia around here astounds me. Spiders are among the most beneficial creatures around us... brown recluse excluded.
  17.   Dang... I get better than that on my laptop with my Verizon G4 air-card. I'm guessing that's the rock-bottom Comcast service level?
  18.   Yes, I got the same phone message that the OP received.
  19. Found this on my local newspaper's website-- a photo essay of Lamar Alexander, Beth Harwell, and others touring the Barrett Firearms facility in Murfreesboro...   What a nice "look at me, I'm a real pro-2A conservative!" photo op for a few folks-- some of who we know that their political actions and voting records don't necessarily back up what they're trying to sell-- and I'm not just talking 2A in this respect. Political opportunists really grind my gears sometimes. These people are not our friends. Unfortunately in this day and age, the true statesman is pretty much extinct. OK, my cynical rant is done.   Here's the link:   http://www.dnj.com/picture-gallery/news/politics/2014/07/30/us-senator-lamar-alexander-tours-barrett-firearms/13330471/
  20. I'm sure the training is out there, but most girls start at a young age... and you'll need a little experience before you move up to "flaming batons" or knives.... :taunt: Sorry, man... just kidding. There's got to be something out there... possible some of the personal defense schools who do more than just firearms?? Outside of that, the next choice would be a stint as an LEO somewhere.
  21.   This tells me that you "lost" her long before now. Move on. She's not worth the trouble. To her, you're just the ace-in-the-hole in the event the internet dude drops her. Get out now while you still have some shred of self-esteem.     And don't even think about looking back.
  22. This thread reads like a twisted David Lynch film...
  23. Submarina Sub Shop in Clarksville has a very similar sign welcoming gun owners.
