Doesn't take much research to figure out what kind of man he is and where he stands on the issues. I guess him living a few miles down the road makes him a little better known around here than in Maryville. He is very similar in principals to Ted Cruz and Mike Lee and while no one can say with complete certainty but I believe he would stick to them in in Washington. It will be a tough uphill battle but if everyone will get to the polls and show their disapproval of Alexander's record in the voting booth, you never know.

Well if you are limited (I know your not) to the weapon you qualified with I am in the clear to carry 3 different pistols. I had one new pistol I wanted to shoot, another that I love to shoot and yet one more that I had a load worked up for that I wanted to try out. It was late afternoon so I knew I wouldn't have any range time afterwards so I asked the instructor if he would mind if I switched up. He told me If I could keep 6rds inside the X rings at 15yds that he didn't care what I shot so that I did. The instructor also had a great many "loaner pistols", some were very cheap and most hadn't seen any oil in a very long time so every time one would jam up he just handed off another pistol to whomever had the issue. I left thinking that if an instructor is going to have pistols to loan out to students then they should be of good quality and condition. I felt a bit unsafe at times due to men and women that had never shot a firearm in their life before that day were now standing shoulder to shoulder with others, turning the gun back and forth trying to figure out how to drop the mag and/or manipulate the slide.. I just kept telling myself that, the more gun owners there are, the stronger we will be.

Outpost had I believe 3 different varieties of Eley .22lr in last week and they were replenishing it regularly. I noticed they had cases on the stuff sitting behind the register that they were stocking out of and then 2 days later they had more cases of it opened up. I don't have anything to really take full advantage of Eley's accuracy potential so it was a waste on me.

It wasn't ammo but about 2 weeks ago I was digging through the hall closet that is underneath the stairs, I got all the way to the back underneath the stair landing (about 24" from floor to the under side of the stairs) and found one of the knee high ammo cans of .223/5.56 brass. They only sad part is that it wasn't loaded like y'alls were. Happy "treasure" hunting!

If we could get info next to the register of every gun shop/outdoors store and any TN based gun forums I believe that would go a long ways towards a good start. I just looked at an email and it said to be listening to Ralph Bristol's radio show at 7am. Joe has a standing weekly phone call in between 7-7:20am on Tuesday mornings so i'm sure he'll be on there regardless but I hope this is really happening.

Okay so State Rep. Joe Carr (for those that didn't already know) announced that he would be running against Jim Tracey to unseat incumbent Congressman Scott Desjarlais. Now in an effort to try to give Lamar Alexander the boot, Joe Carr has been solicited to abandon his effort to win a seat in the House of Representatives to instead take Lamar's senate seat. I'm not 100% certain on this but I was contacted by a mutual friend saying that there would most likely be an announcement tomorrow stating such. Lamar has managed to hold favorable standing in all hypothetical polls I have heard of but I believe that is mostly due to the almost total lack of a serious contender.. With the support of most Tea Party groups I hope and believe things will change ( I know, we've been burnt everytime hope and change shows up in the same sentence). This is exciting news to me because there is virtually a 100% chance that we will keep a Republican in the house seat anyways but stand to gain a true dyed in the wool Tea Party conservative in the senate which we are dying to have more of. I guess we will find out tomorrow whether or not this is actually whats going on but I for one have my fingers crossed.

3 gun around Nashville or close
Luke E. replied to Dustbuster's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Any interest in starting a post beginning Friday morning running through Sunday for TGO members to "check in" so that we can meet up with each other during the event? Seems like about the only time I meet a fellow member is if I am buying or selling something from/to someone. Not suggesting that we all walk around as a big pack but maybe lunch or just long enough to introduce ourselves and shake hands. -
I know plenty about charges and what they mean.. (Had some rather questionable yrs earlier in life). It is possible that they have it setup to where the charges are exponged after the agreed upon 3yrs. Not saying that is what happened but I do know that it's possible. If that is the case then he certainly got off lucky considering the DA seemed to be out for blood.

" We" gave him guns to defend us from those that wish to harm us and now Cali has put him in a category with kidnappers, child molesters and murders so that now he cannot buy his own gun to defend himself from those that wish him harm. Raw deal indeed. I reckon when you have someone willing to put the time in, they could find a way to make most of us felons by stretching a law around something it was never meant to cover.

I'm like you, I bet if he would bump the charge to 4.3gr it would clear everything up. Might not even take that much.
-
That's interesting Mike, I've not had any issue like that before but I'm glad you brought it up because if I do have the problem I'll know where to look.

Both items you suggested are good to have around regardless of wether you have a problem or not, especially the chamber gauge. The reason I say it's a load problem is that some are working fine. If you have a size problem most likely none will fit. A light load on the other hand, when right on the edge might work one shot but not the next. Who knows, the ones that are working could be a fraction of a grain hotter thus causing them to work. I'd bump your a little (assuming you're not near max) and I'd bet you think will start working more like you want them to.
-
I'd say your friend at the range is steering you in the right direction. If they will chamber, fire and sometimes extract then your most likely not loading them hot enough to make that gun function.

Your examples keep talking about the cops (or whatever profession you chose) should be able to sue the bad guy that injures them. If you will overlay your examples over the actual story you will see that they are not the same at all. Your saying if I get the cops called on me and break their nose and bite them that they should be able to sue me.. Only problem there is your argument is flawed, see "I" the criminal that harmed you am DEAD, remember, you shot me after I attacked. Now, all of your examples talk about sueing the bad guy and the bad guy in this story payed for his stupidity with his life so sueing him won't work. See this story isn't about a LEO sueing a criminal for harming him, but rather him sueing the person that called 911. Hey maybe next he'll take a shot at sueing the dispatcher for not asking the right questions. Now if they decided to file this as a preemptive strike to head off something coming from the criminals family then more power to him I guess.

Talk about inbred!

I also took mine from Tim Guy. It meets the requirements and gets you on to the next step. I saw a thing on Facebook stating that he was running a $30 special right now but not sure how long that lasts.

I wanted to go last year but it didn't work out. It's looking like I may get to go Saturday. -

I think i'll try to make a run up there if work and life (same thing most of the time) will allow. -
That would be mob rule which is what democracy boils down to and it just doesn't work... for long. We live, at least for the time being, in a constitutional republic and should stick with what works most of the time. The humane side of me thinks that someone should step in if a child is going to be named "satan" or "sh1t for brains" but that kinda opens up and can of worms huh. I think we've run full circle several times now and until we know the whole story (as 6.8 has stated) I don't think we're going to get anywhere.
