If I find somewhere to go I may try Monday afternoon. I forgot I had told my wife I would go visit a friend on Sunday afternoon. That being said, if I found a really promising field, she might be flying solo.

We used to be covered up with options here around the house but that was back when the dairy farmers (used to be 7 or 8 within 10 miles of me) planted early corn and chopped it for silage. Now only 1 maybe 2 of them are still milking and everyone else started bailing green hay and wrapping it instead of silage. It works out a lot better for them, does nothing for dove hunting. I should have started making a few calls a week or so ago..

I've let Dove season slip up on me and have not located anywhere to hunt. None of the usual places that I hunt have anything planted or cut. I'm not real big on TWRA hunts because of the high probability of morons mixed in but I may have to stoop to that if i can't find anything else.

Interesting - and maybe the first sign of hope for ammo supplies

Try these guys, http://www.freedommunitions.com/Default.asp They had a booth set up at the 3Gun match at Rockcastle in KY this past weekend. They gave me a complete price list but I must have left it at the office, anyways, I asked them about availability on 9mm fmj and a couple of others and they said they had most everything ready to ship. They were actually giving away bullets in 9mm, .38, .40 and .45, some were jaketed hollow points and some were just fmj. I actually just looked through what I ended up with and I counted about 150 rounds worth of projectiles and I think I have more that I stuffed in my backpack. Their prices looked great for these times, I want to say the price sheet said 9mm fmj was $98 delivered to your front door. -
This is INCREDIBLE!!!

3 gun around Nashville or close

No, I didn't get a chance too. My friend that was with me had his son with him and I guess he'd had his fill. We saw the one that Para and Remington had side by side but never ran across the other 2-3 that I had seen listed. I would have liked to have had the chance to run one of the JP rifles. I really like the feel of their triggers but I've only dry fired them and would have loved to get a feel for one live. Guess at some point I'll just have to breakdown and buy the kit to throw in one of mine. -

Just saw this. We actually just got back home about an hour ago. We had a good time though and will definitely be trying to sign up to shoot next year. Everyone I talk to was very nice and willing to share info and experience. Well worth the trip! -
While they may not have layed down cash as a purchase cost, it has already and will continue to be a great cost. Figure the $ the Gov spent to purchase and transport to? and how much the gov spent to bring it back so that they could "give" it to MPD and now there's maintenance and fuel that never would have been burned if it had never been "given" to MPD. And all that will likely pail in comparison to the 1st lawsuit that will come from a Leo getting a little to excited in their new tactical vehicle. There is no reason for local law enforcement to be cruising around in something like this. I understand that it came at a much lesser charge than word another option but the citizens of Murfreesboro that fund all of MPD employee's aren't doing so to me overlooked and intimidated. My guess is that this truck WILL be misused sooner or later and I hope it doesn't end badly for someone.

Looks like "Timthetoolman" and I will be headed up tomorrow around miday and hoping to be there by mid afternoon. We're going to camp over at the cave and spend all day Saturday up there. I'll PM my number so you can call or shoot me a text if you wanna meet up. -
EXACTLY! Multiple layers are not only huge wastes of our tax dollars but more importantly, when you have multiple groups tasked with the same job one will decide the others can pull the boring weight all the while freeing up plenty of time and assets to use to strip us of a little more freedom with each passing moment. That sounds bad huh? Well what it didn't address was the other groups aren't doing the proper work either because they think group one is doing it so now they're out creating mischief as well. It's a vicious cycle to say they least.

Also I saw two Homeland Secuity vehicles here in Murfreesboro about 5-6 months ago I saw them 1- 1 1/2 weeks apart from each other. They weren't on the interstate either, one was about half a mile from MTSU headed towards it and the other was on the same road about 2 1/2 miles away from campus. Was there someone of interest there? We're they just cruising? Maybe lost and trying to find their way to the mosque? Who knows... I think that worries me as much as anything, we're all expected to live with them patrolling and spying amongst us but we aren't ever given a reason (that's not blatant enough that Ray Charles could see it). Just to be fair and in full disclosure, they couldn't give me a good enough reason for almost everything they do, so as long as we have to constantly be concerned about what kinda crap Homeland Security (and the whole government for that matter) is pulling I for one will not be okay with any of it.
-
Everyone needs to start raising hell if they aren't already but that won't happen until they start snatching people up I'm afraid. Most people have the "we're in the USA so that kinda stuff could never happen here" mentality and they don't notice a little step closer here and there. I imagine one day it will be perfectly clear to everyone but will it be to late at that point?

I know the logistical issue pretty well. The only reason that they would consider blowing them in place is if it was going to cost more than they are worth to bring them home. So for your tax dollar to good use theory is missing a component. Say the military went ahead and payed well over the vehicles value to bring it home (there's more tax dollars spent) and then give it to the police dept. All they've done is spend more of our money and the only people happy about it are the guys in the police dept. that get to use it. Which brings me back to.... If they are excited to have it, they will be excited to use it!

Okay so they showed this on channel 2 news this morning and paraded about like this is a good thing. Why just get an armored truck like Wells Fargo uses or even that beast the the sheriffs dept. has when you can go ahead and get one that's ready to take over the town? Now I don't place much stock in all the jazz like "they are getting this to get ready for martial law" or " homeland security is involved and is planning to use the truck to come and take our guns" BUT...... I do know enough about the human race to know that, if these men have this at their disposal, it WILL get used. Maybe they'll save it for a couple newsworthy events so they can show everyone how "this armored truck saved so many lives" BUT, Murfreesboro doesn't have many events that would even come close to needing this truck, so, how long do you think it will take for them to get tired of staring at it and waiting for an event to happen before their patience runs out and they start using it for other things? Things like going by to pick up a DUI offender that violated probation or to just starts driving it all over town for people to see. The truck is from the dept. of defense and is for helping our fighting men and women survive IED's and RPG's and what not. Most off our people overseas and even riding around in one of these things and to me that's begs the question, why do they need that and how great is the potential for misuse and/or abuse?

Anyone know what powder Black Hills uses in the 77gr?

Most all of the people you just named were at one point being sought after to run against Lamar. But just as quick as he would catch wind of it, he would go straight away and hire them to his team. It's a lot easier to pay them not to run than it is to try to rip that many folks apart. Honestly though, if a person can be bought this early on, they wouldn't have been worth a damn anyways... Just more of the same old Washington BS.
-
Well I was just told there is now a third wheel. Kevin ........( I have no idea how to spell it) has jumped in as well. I really hope he backs out because he would likely be a very long shot in which Lamar would welcome. As soon as I figure out how to spell the last name I'll post with it. It sounds like "coo-cat-chew" and he is supposed to be a good man.
-
I completely agree! As important as it is for there to be someone with backbone to run against Lamar, it is equally as important for there to be only ONE with a great love for freedom and admiration for our founding fathers and their brilliant documents! I say this because Lamar is at the very worst going to get almost half the votes so if there are more than one running against him to split the remaining half the vote then he WILL Win his seat again. This makes it very important that the one that runs against him has no skeletons or baggage for Lamar and his lackeys to drag out. I think we have that person in Joe Carr if conservative and Tea Party groups get behind him and push hard. If they try to compare man to man, Lamar will draw the short straw so he can't take that route which leaves him with low information and left leaning (Chris Christie) republicans to pander to. The sad part is that there are an awful lot that fall into those two groups so true Tea Party conservatives will be tasked with bring the low info group up into the light and show them that just because he runs as a Republican doesn't make him such. Hershmeister, Corker has been rude and insulting in everything speech or interview I have heard him give since the scandals and immigration bill broke. I think maybe his constituents need to beat him at his own game, we need to go inform the uninformed and misinformed and sell them a respectable Senator.

I don't believe for a fraction of a second that his "conservative" highlight reel is anything more than him baiting the trap with nothing more than a hollow conservative shell. He may have done some good things over the year but even a broken clock is right twice a day. Folks need to remember that primaries are the time to vote your convictions, principals and morals and I feel like any medium to high information conservative voter can tell Lamar is not looking out for us. He's been in Washington a long time and is over staying his welcome IMO.
