  1.    It won't be that simple if he chooses Lee dies.
  2. Awesome!
  3.  Thanks for posting. I'm young by a lot of folks standards but I've also messed myself up pretty bad over the years so between being eaten up with arthritis, missing bits and chunks of different bones, having no ACL in my right knee etc..etc.. I can relate. I've been getting injections in my lower back for some time now and it seems to help some but not enough for me to be able to function normally most days so I have had to lean on things that I have zero desire to take. I will definitely inquire about this and see what the doc thinks next time i'm in for my shots. Anything that will prolong my time before going in for knee replacements is a good thing.

    AR-7.62 39

I've had folks speak passionately about them not feeding reliably.. That being said I have run a total of 4-500 rounds through two different AR's in this chambering  with absolutely zero issues whatsoever. Also this weekend I ran a few mags through a Sig 556 chambered in 7.62x39 and it also ran flawlessly. While my experience isn't extremely extensive I feel like if they were truly problematic I would have had at least one snag. I'm sure there are others that have run one more than myself that will chime in.
  7. My wife received an AppleTv box similar to what you've got and it's been fine except for it only working with Apple products. I use Google Chrome anyways so it may be worth it for me to pick up the Chromecast.
  8.  I will get something together to post in the am.   Thanks, Dustbuster
  9. Love to have one or both, however you're doing it
  10. First time I've seen this one.   http://off-grid.info/blog/emergency-phone-charger-from-old-cordless-drill/
  11.    I was misunderstanding him. I think it had to do with me being up when I should have been in bed.
  12. Is it just a one night deal? Like they just take the first X number folks?
  13. Why are you continuing to keep the trigger depressed after the hammer has fallen? if the pull the trigger, the hammer falls an you left off the trigger will the slide come back? If i'm misunderstanding you please let me know but if not, then i'm not understanding how what you're doing is "function testing" anything.
  14.  When are the sign ups?
  15.    Hey, good help is hard to come by and it looks like you were lucky enough to have found 12 of them.
  16.      Isn't that the truth!
  17. Looks like you've been busy Slappy! Your workbench turned out great but I've got a question about the "buddy" that helped you, was this a 2 legged buddy or were you talking about the PBR?
  18.  We can keep blaming it on the folks "camping out" at Walmart if we want to but at some point you have to factor in how many folks had .22 firearms before all this started and how many new ones have been sold since the election. No, folks standing around at Walmart hoping to score some to resell aren't helping the situation but if you're honest with yourselves about how many folks just like yourself there are out the and the insane number that have joined the ranks by purchasing new firearms in the last year and a half I think you will realize here lies the root cause of the shortage.   I'm also sure that there are sporting goods associates that have a list of buyers that they call that will in turn put a little extra padding in their pockets but just because it sells out in 30 minutes doesn't mean that's whats going on. I don't hang around Walmart all the time but when i am in there I go browse the sporting goods and listen in to what folks are asking for. I stood there for 5 minutes one evening last week and heard 4 people verbally ask about .22 ammo and saw a handful more come hustling up to the counter, scan the case and then walk off after I assume not seeing any .22. Now if I saw all that go on in around 5 minutes time don't you think if they'd have had any .22 ammo it would have sold out very quickly regardless of whether someone was tipping buddies off or not? A very small part of me thinks that the ammo shortage is a good thing since that means there are a lot of new shooters but it sucks that it's at the expense of the seasoned shooters range time.   I think I, like the OP, hate it the worst for the kids that don't get to go shoot because of it but i'm not naive enough to think that this is anywhere close to being the all the fault of the ammo resellers. Just my  :2cents:
  19.    Any smart gun shop owner will hold 22 ammo back for people that purchase a .22 firearm from them. They will make far more .22 caliber firearm sales than will the owner that says here's the rifle you want but good luck finding any ammo to run through it. I call that smart business practice. Now if they are leaving it out in the open for everyone to see then I suppose he's not as smart as I give him credit for. That would just be asking for a headache and why would someone wish to have to explain to everyone who walked through the door what his .22 ammo policy is..
  20. Can't speak for Mike's specifically but we insulated the doors on my in laws house and it made a profound difference. There's was a finished out basement and is under ground on 3 sides. The summer sun would beat the doors to death for a large portion of the day and if you got within 15' of the doors you could feel the heat rolling through. We used two layers of the shiny aluminum looking stuff that feels sort of like bubble wrap. It made a huge difference in the temp in there. They sold the house shortly after but I think my fil is still kicking himself for not doing it years earlier.   EDIT: I realize that I was rather vague, I was speaking of garage doors.
  21.  As far as reloading goes you'll be just fine. When it comes to loading your own it doesn't matter if 5.56 factory ammo is longer. If you follow the published reloading data they will end up the same length no matter what the head stamp is, after all an inch is an inch is an inch correct? Yes. I have loaded and run a great many 5.56 cases through a .223 chamber with no measurable difference. When buying factory ammo I would stay away from running 5.56 in a .223 only chamber because the .223 chamber is not rated for as much pressure as the 5.56 chamber is. There are no "5.56" specific reloading dies that I know of as they are one and the same. You may already know this but 5.56 (and some .223) brass has a crimped primer pocket and this crimp will have to be removed before pressing in a new primer.
  22. Suppose we'll let ya slide since it's for mom ;)
  23. I can't imagine a fluorescent bulb ever having any noticeable effect on the powder. Of course i've not tried storing powder for 20yrs+ yet so I can't say for certain.
  24.  Thanks
