That's a great price! If I didn't load my own I would definitely stock up big time on this.

TN Candidates & the TFA questionnaire results
Luke E. replied to Sam1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think you are correct. I don't believe there is one man or woman on that list that honestly would fully support all issues addressed. I think TFA went a bit overboard here and I tend to think that it likely wasn't taken very seriously by most candidates and incumbents because of that. Not to say that I don't agree with all of them on some level and I consider myself to be a very strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and firearms freedom but even I would have a few concerns with some items on the list. -
Something peaked my curiosity at the mall today

You beat me to the draw. -
I can agree with part of what you stated but the last line, "we let them search and we deal with whatever comes" ? You have fun with that. I'm not saying that I'm running if someone comes to the door but that is not open ended. If I ever feel like I am about to be wrongfully detained and that unless I scoot things will get much worse then I'm outta here. Maybe our whole system isn't to the point of corruption that you described but having personally witnessed an officer stick a bag of dope in a handcuffed mans shirt pocket then pull it back out declaring what he'd just found, you must understand where my skeptisim comes from. Would the guy I speak of been just as well to have run? Maybe. I only point this out to make the point that there are situations that might warrant taking your chances. Also, I'm pretty sure when the others above questioned the constitutionality of the search it was based more on their doubt that the warrant should have ever been issued.

If I were building a rifle for longer distance accuracy (and I am) I would and will definitely buy a Geisselle that is setup up for thet. The Black Rain I've got is a 3 Gun trigger setup and could be used for shooting small groups but it's not the best suited for the job.
-
I have been running mil-spec triggers in my AR's until recently and have been wanting to upgrade but like you I was having a hard time spending the $200+/- on a trigger rather than buying extra reloading components or another gun. I received a Black Rain Ordnance drop in trigger from a friend and love it. I already have another waiting to be put in.
-
If there is any AR add-on accessory that justifies having $200 spent on it it's the trigger. The only problem is that the more rifles you own the more expensive it will get because you will want one for each of them!
-
I don't own the trigger in question but it would be hard to go wrong with a Geissele that matches what you intend to use the rifle for and you have found a good price on it. How light is the trigger you're looking at? I wouldn't be to concerned if you're in a good habit of running the safety but I guess if it's one of the models with some crazy 1/2 pound pull then that's another matter.

Hopefully it works out for you, that would be a bad thing to lose.

Well from time to time I write and email and tell about the "link" that I am attaching or something along those lines but then forget to attach the link, picture or whatever. I'm thinking that's kind of what the OP has done here but if not, I too am confused.

That really sucks! Post some info that might help get us started.

There was a hint of sarcasm there. I do enjoy reading different peoples reasoning behind their chosen side though. I carry a 9mm but own both but it mostly stems from before I started reloading and since my wife shoots a 9, by switching to the same, i'd only have to keep that caliber on hand which happened to be a lot cheaper per round.

EXACTLY! I have watched so many helicopter hogs shoot videos and they always get me more an more excited to go try it out so I kinda quit looking at them. I watched them pop a couple real quick the other night but that was it.. Glad I revisited it and didn't miss out on the crossbow show.

The cafe is good stuff! My folks live just down the road from it and my office is at their place now but I don't eat down there nearly as much as I used to. May have to head over there for lunch soon. Glad ya'll enjoyed it.
-
I didn't watch to much of this the other day when kahrman posted it but just sat down and watched more..... Did any of you guys watch long enough to see the guy start popping them with a crossbow? SKILLS!

Those machines are handy as a shirt pocket!

I know bullets have a tendency to melt through car doors but i'd sure rather be hiding behind a car when bullets start flying than hoping the bullet would hit one of the pipes those bicycle frames are made of! In all seriousness though, when there are big events going on in cities, bicycle are much more effective.

I will pass along words of advice from multiple Rutherford County Sheriffs Deputies, "if a neighbor calls and reports any kind of gun fire they MUST come out to pay a visit. If they get there and there is no backstop then they will look at the lay of the land and make a judgment call as to whether or not you are exercising due safety. If they pull up and you are shooting into a reasonable backstop (they really like to see dirt mounds) the automatically tell you that a 'concerned' neighbor (nosey bastards) called but that it appears that you have a safe range and to enjoy your shooting." A friend of mine has a 50yd range behind his house and his neighbor would call the law EVERY TIME people would shoot back there just to be asshats. On more than one occasion the responding officer has stuck around just hanging out for more than an hour and once he even joined in on the shooting. I guess my point is, as long as you know that your bullet will not leave your property then you should be fine but if you even suspect that you may have one or more of the nosey bastard neighbors then I'd say you'll be saving yourself some trouble by having a load or two of fill dirt brought it. For what it's worth, sand is a great choice if you can contain it. I just had a pool put in at my folks place and shot 55gr and 62gr bullets through an AR into the sand pile and I found all the jackets were shed and laying on the surface and all the lead I looked for was no more than 1"-2" deep. Magnum cartridges may take a bit of extra thought but not much.

I guess they ran out of money before they could buy enough 2x4 to nail those target stand legs onto.

And I thought that the bicycle cops had drawn the shortest straw... until I saw this "training exercise". I wonder how bad you have to screw up to be placed on that detail?

I wonder if we'll ever know if they really find any of this "vast stockpile" of weapons or if no stockpile is found, will they just "donate" a stockpile so that it doesn't look bad on them? Or if there were actually any Explosive devices found or if they have and actual evidence besides the hear-say that he had any of these items of illegally purchase any of the firearms "stockpile".. I want to think that the FBI will be on the up and up here but I tend to believe that they aren't going to want to make a big showing and come up empty handed.. What I hate more than anything is that there is a need for these types of post, back when my grandfather was in law enforcement the officers were widely accepted as being good men that were there to see that the law was followed and had no interest in fooling with anyone that wasn't breaking the law. Now days it's just not that way, sure most officers are straight laced but there is a large enough percentage of bad apples that there is an overwhelming sense of distrust both within and outside of gun enthusiast, prepper and political circles. The "bad apples" in law enforcement, politics, etc... have done major damage to the image of the whole and will take a great effort on the part of the good ones to ever start healing those wounds and start to regain trust.. Does anyone else see that happening? As for this Winters fellow, I surely hope that if no hard evidence is found, he is sent home to carry on.
