  1. By the way, everyone who is saying that they wouldn't own a Chinese firearm needs to check their inventory for a Norinco AK and/or SKS. There sure are a lot of 'em owned by people on this board, me included.
  2. Let me just throw this out there as food for thought: Countries in order of GDP 1. United States - 17.9 Trillion Dollars 2. Japan - 4.9 Trillion 3. China - 4.3 Trillion
  3. Savage, If you use a mix, try McCormicks, and remember if you use meat to cook your onions, peppers, and garlic with it when you brown it. (try a little ground mustard as well for a little "tang")
  4. Tried this about 3 months ago. One other person showed up, after 8 or 9 said they were coming up. Good luck

    22-250

Heck yeah, Robin. You'll never doubt that you made a fantastic choice in caliber for 'yotes. Put's 'em down like the hammer of thor. Bang. Flop.
  6. That was more than enough to keep me out of the bars. Well, that and a wife and 2 kids . . . . .

    22-250

Did you get the .22-250? Enquiring minds want to know!
  8. Now this, I don't agree with. David's website is David's website. He can do whatever he pleases with it, and I do not think that's "Holding you hostage". There are plenty of ways to sell a gun without doing it here. While I do think Benefactor status is a luxury, I do not see anything wrong with charging for it. I'm sure if someone was coming to your house and leaving your lights on, you'd like a little compensation for the electric bill.
  9. Are you really saying that benefactor status on here is any less a luxury than the things you just mentioned?
  10. My opinion: Bolt rifles with nice Walnut furniture are beautiful. Given my choice hunting, I carry a nice bolt gun. I prefer them. Now, on the other hand, if the SHTF, I want an AR platform rifle. They may not be pretty (I agree) but there's something to be said for an autoloader when ya gotta lay down some lead. I like 'em both. Is that so wrong?

    22-250

One of the most accurate cartridges available. With some TLC and load development, these guns are hard to top. Plus, my opinion is that it is the King of varmint cartridges. Below is a 10 shot group @100 from my Remmy 700 VTR .22-250
  12. My Ruger was recently refinished by CCR courtesy of JeffsSig. Darn nice job. My camera skills are severely lacking, but I was impressed with the job they did.
  13. Doe, Doe, Doe, Doe. I had 4 of 'em walk right up on top of me around 9am. No buck in sight before I was rained out.
  14. Sorry, I've always enjoyed statistics. Yes, I am a geek sometimes. Now, for my 2 cents. There are establisments in my area that serve alchohol, and did not post. I will continue to eat at those places. The other places, I did frequent, but not after they decided to post. Their choice, my choice.
  15. Look, statistically, let's say that they have a normal fluctuation of +-4% in their regular income, based on 100% standard sales. Now, let's take 4% off of the top, to make it 96% standard amount of sales, and add that +-4%. Now you have a range of 92% to 100% of standard versus a range of 96% to 104% of standard. Statistically that is a pretty large variable, even if they overlap, and it will be noticed by the bean counters. I'm just saying that the "we aren't large enough to make a difference theory" is not a good one. Many of the vocal minorities set policy for the much larger majority. Don't believe me? Look at our laws.
  16. Love mine.
  17. Welcome, Elaine! I lived in McDonald, off of Bancroft RD (Harrison Pike end), for a few years before moving to Signal. It was really nice out there, and I miss it now that I lead a "city" life. Anyway, welcome to TGO! I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.
  18. Fantastic job, Eric. What recipe are you working on with your reloads?
  19. Rob, I know that rifle very well. I would recommend the 158gr or 180gr Hornady XTP's in +P or +P+. They don't really act like a true hollow point at the much higher velocities they achieve from that longer barrel, from my experience loading and testing them. By the way, you have nothing to worry about deer hunting with that round.
  20. In WMA's 'yote hunting requires whatever caliber is legal for said hunting season, from MY understanding, which is why I only hunt them on private land. A 22 mag will do the job nicely within 50 yards from my personal experience, but my caliber of choice is the .22-250 above all others, including the .204. Much much much more devastating results. Put's 'em down like the hammer of Thor smacked 'em. I have seen them shot with the .17 caliber centerfires, .204, and .223, and turn to nip at the POI before running. I've never had one run with the .22-250.
  21. lmao! I can't help with the spring length, but you certainly got my attention!

    Misfortion

Trust me, there was. I'll save the story about my roomie selling plasma to buy a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken for another time. . . . . .

Birdman, if it makes you feel any better, when I was 22, I had just started working toward my graduate degree. After already being in school full time for 4 years and only working part time, I was as broke as broke could be. I used to eat what was to be known later as "The Losers Lunch" which consisted of exactly 1 piece of Bologna in your hand and, if you were lucky enough, a couple of packs of mustard that you stole from somewhere. I had morning classes, and worked in the afternoon. One particular day I didn't have time to go back to my apartment before work to grab something to eat. I was starving, and all I could think about was a pack of corndogs in the freezer that I had scraped up enough money to buy. I made it back home after work only to find my roommate and a plate full of corndog sticks. Short of people dying, I believe that was one of the most crushing moments in my life.
  24. It will be a day of reckoning. All of the stars and moons will align, and the Volunteers will set the world right and defeat those NCAA perennial probates named the crimson tide. World peace may even come forth from the Vol victory. GO VOLS! GO TO **** ALABAMA!!
  25. Poor little guy! Having to make those diffcult decisions all by himself when the state should make them for him.
