What are the most annoying commercial on radio and tv
Good_Steward replied to runningfree's topic in General Chat
1. Old Spice (does your man...?) 2. Dairy Queen ("ridiculous" commercials..) 3. The stupid nationwide guy with the rotary phone 4. "Hey buddy, call Hullco" and then a 5 year old "Cawl mah daddy..". Nice to whore your kids out like that. 5. ANY, and I mean ANY, of the personal injury lawyers in Chattanooga I don't think there's enough bandwidth for me to list all the commercials that really, really, really grate on my nerves, but those are the big hitters. -
Dustin Patrick, the officer in the shooting, is a pretty good, level headed guy. I knew him for several years through a mutual friend when he worked at a car audio / custom shop in Cleveland, and ran into him from time to time when I lived in Bradley Co. and he was an SRO at my son's elementary school (Michigan Ave.). Just don't see him doing something like this lightly, or without the woman really putting herself in a position to get shot.
-
That, my friend, is funny. True, but funny.

Take a trip across DuPont parkway, or I-75 north. You''ll hear 'em.
-
We are absolutely covered up with them. Anywhere there is a wooded area, you can't even hear yourself think. Considering NAPALM. That bad.
-
Actually, fishing truly is a predatory act. We tend to gloss that over with catch and release, and all kinds of good PR. I would consider it "hunting".
-
Let the Amnesty International bleeding hearts have this happen to their daughter, and I bet their tune changes. Honestly, as a father, I don't think it's cruel enough.
-
That's pretty cool. Where's Troy Landry when you need him? "Choooot 'im! Choooot 'im!!"

Fantastic. I will add this for anyone else, since I did have the job come open today. I would encourage anyone on here in the Chattanooga area who needs a job, and is reliable, shoot me a PM. The things that I would request are: 1. High school grad - bare minumum 2. Proficient with MS office 3. Fantastic attention to detail 4. (probably most important) A willingness to learn, and good at taking direction. I can be a hard guy to work for, simply because I demand attention to detail, strong work ethic, good time management, and a desire to excel in this position. The job can be fast paced and boring all in the same hour, but demands full attention at all times. It's a good job for getting your feet wet in QA, and working for me does, actually, have some perks if you enjoy learning and advancing yourself. Anyway, shoot me a pm for an e-mail address to send your resume to me. Thanks, and I hope we can help each other out. Mods, if this is inappropriate, please delete.

drummer, give me a shout if you're in the chattanooga area. I had an entry level QA Tech job come open in my Dept. today. No promises, as I always hire the most qualified (or people I have a "gut" feeling about) for a job, but if you have a resume, PM me and I'll give you an e-mail address to send it to for my review.

you certainly didn't go wrong with the Beeman; THE top of the line air rifles without a doubt. I have a .22cal R1 for the pests in the area. Superbly accurate rifles.

No one? I know we have a contingent of engineers on this board (must be something in the tinkering / build it better / screw it up nature that draws us to firearms?), and was asking because a lot of Project Managers at different companies are PMP certified. Just thought some of you guys here may be, as well.
-
Just curious if anyone here is Project Management Professional certified through PMI? I'm always looking at more ways to make myself more valuable in the "marketplace", and just finished my Lean Six Sigma Black Belt cert. Considering all the project management involved in LSS, I thought this may be a natural progression before pursuing Master Black Belt certification. Anyway, looking for more info on this, and whether it seems like you got your money's worth from the cert, what to expect from testing, and if any real knowledge was gained (unlike ASQ certs, sorry if anyone here is ASQ - been there / done that / still certified QA Manager, but found that I disagree with a large portion of their assertions). Anyway, any PMP experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Fantastic job on that .38 Super! Always wanted one......

How close is your home to a nuclear power plant?
Good_Steward replied to vontar's topic in Survival and Preparedness
5 sites within 225 miles. I've always thought about this, considering the likelihood of an attempted terrorist attack on nuclear plants. -
Don't know what else to say. Gun shows around here are pretty useless as far as the exhibitor tables (unless you enjoy paying MSRP +). Maybe a few decent buys to be had from others attending looking to sell, but that's about it.

I really like the brown lanyard. Good job on those, Kong. Like the boxer, by the way. I've had a boxer since I was 9. Fantastic with the kids (young and old), and protective of their family.

Soooooo.... I'm digging around on several knife websites last night looking for a nice fixed blade, and found one that I really fell in love with. So, of course, I order it. While looking at it online a few minutes ago, I thought it may look good with a nice paracord lanyard. My question is, do any of you make your own lanyards, or order them? Where could I get a good one from, or what do you recommend making it out of (550?), and how the heck do you make them? Below is a picture of the knife I ordered: A Camillus Hunter. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Wow. That is a fantastic knife! How's the feel and heft of it?

WD, I try to get up to Crossville and Sevierville a couple times a year to Hog hunt - close to halfway between us, i think). Let me know if you ever want to make that trip, and I'll bring along 2 .22-250's to bust some crows one day, and we'll try out on hogs the next. Why not make a long, miserable trip to have some fun? LOL!
-
This load works well with the SP varmint and V-Max Hornady, and the ballistic tip Nosler.
-
Ton of great factory loads out there for the .22-250. If you want to reload (I do) I recommend accurate 2230 (I like it at 33.5gr) with CCI LR primers and a good 55gr bullet, such as the Hornady or Nosler. Very accurate load. Minimal recoil with maximum damage.
-
I like the 55's a lot, and use mostly V-Max, but Nosler's Ballistic tip varmint in 55gr are fantastic as well
-
Top of the varmint caliber food chain. Best .22 round available. Period. It will absolutely level any of those animals you mentioned.

I guess I should stay out of it, but I'm not. JReedEsq., I'm sure you know a lot about the legal side of this. Jamie, I'm sure you know a lot about the practical side of it. I think what we all agreed on (Except the advocates of running people down. Really??) is that whomever is breaking the law (either side) should be punished. Too bad it turned into a p****** contest. Once again, I think both sides would be fine if they respected the other's right to be on the road and used common sense, as was the intent of my original post.
