Haha it was about 200 lbs. Had about 1 1/2" of fat on it. Not a monster but good eating size. The tenderloins were huge!
-
Being ground into sausage as we speak!!! Except for the tenderloins of course!!

My vote is on the 2nd!!! Unless of coarse we're talking about that law-abiding type of criminal who would walk up to the door, "assault rifle" and samuri sword in hand and say "Dang! No weapons allowed...guess I can't massacre kids today. Maybe I can petition for them to take that pesky sign down".

Leon Panetta lifts ban on women in combat.
GoneBallistic replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Last time I checked, there was no part of the PT test that included carrying a pack so heavy you can barely put it on by yourself for 5 days through the Afghan green zone (farm land). I did this my last deployment. It sucked. I was in great shape and it was still horrible. Needless to say, there were no women in Marine Corps infantry units in 2011. Had there been, some of us would have been carrying their packs. I went on a couple of patrols prior to above operation where a Female Engagement Team was present. They had no concept of combat operations and could barely carry THEMSELVES in nothing more than a flak and kevlar. Had I gotten hit while on this patrol, there's no way in hell any of these women could have carried/drug me to safety. As stated before, there is much more involved here than the physical aspect. Pulling the trigger on a human being is a hard thing to do. Especially if it is a child. From what I have generally seen, women have a lot harder time doing this than men. When the lives of an entire squad are on the line, such as an attack by a suicide bomber, this is a risk that simply can't be taken. Another problem here is the protective instinct men have over women. I've seen several men wounded in combat. While my heart and soul were with them, I was still able to do my job and clear the LZ for the chopper, hold security, and whatever else needed to be done. Had that been a woman laying on the ground missing both legs and bleeding out, it would have been much harder for me and every other male Marine not to be over there trying to help the corpsman whether he needed it or not. Furthermore, there is the problem of living accomodations. While this is not a problem stateside or on major bases in theatre, it would have been a HUGE problem for my unit in Afghanistan. During my whole deployment, myself and the rest of my infantry squad stayed in Afghan buildings that we had taken over. These were very primitive and cramped conditions. On the operation I mentioned above, at times there was barely enough room for all of us to bed down, much less a private space for women. Besides, we had other stuff to worry about. We were in combat. Basically folks, this is a matter of national security, not some feel-good policy with no consequences to give everyone a warm and fuzzy. I have only mentioned a few of the many problems we will encounter with this. The standards will be lowered or waived, making our Armed Forces weaker and less effective overall. Contrary to what you may think, I am not a sexist. I have been there. I have done that. I know what this will do to our Armed Forces. It's time for everyone to put aside all the politically correct bullshit and get down to business. This is the sole protection of America, the greatest nation on Earth. Lets not screw it up. -
Has anyone talked to Sheriff Berrong to get his stance on enforcing unconstitutional firearms laws? Figured someone on here probably knows him personally or has talked to him.

Emailed Corker, Alexander, and Duncan and only received the usual BS from Corker, a limp-wristed response from Alexander and nothing from Duncan. I guess elected representatives don't actually need to represent. Neither of the responses I received committed in any way to any specific stance on this issue. Disgusting fence riders.

My first Georgia hog! Taken at 175 yards with this Ruger M77 in 30-06 given to me by a couple close friends! I was shooting Federal Ammo loaded with Barnes MR-X and it didn't take another step!

Closing Gunshow Loopholes/Private Sales [Poll Within]
GoneBallistic replied to xRUSTYx's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That's a very interesting thought. If we could get it done without closing the "loop hole" I would be all for it. :) We don't need any type of registration, no matter what we get in return. And it's not like requiring all that stuff at the polls would do any good anyway. They would still cheat. 100% voter turnout and 100% voted for Hussein Osama in several counties in Ohio??? B**** please!! :shake: -
In my opinion, an M1A is about the most invigorating, testosterone boosting gun a man can shoot. If you don't have one, find someone who does and let him rip off a couple mags through it as fast as he can pull the trigger. He will be hooked! An AR would also work but the .308 is a lot more gratifying to shoot. Good luck and let us know about your progress!

Anyone have any experience with an Ingram Mac 10?

Dolomite that is insane! Any opinions on a fair price? As much as I would love to have the rock n' roll edition, I really don't want to get into class 3 right now so I'll be going after a semi-auto version. -
Closing Gunshow Loopholes/Private Sales [Poll Within]
GoneBallistic replied to xRUSTYx's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
For this to work, registration has to be implemented. We all know the next step after registration... We also all know that this isn't about stopping crime. It never is. ANY TINY LITTLE PIECE OF LEGISLATION IN THIS AREA IS A PIECE OF THE PUZZLE WORKING TOWARD ONE COMMON GOAL---THE DISARMING OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. That being said, we cannot compromise. Not on anything. If we do we are just letting them get closer to total confiscation. If you let them have one thing, they'll take five more. I realize we as measly, worthless citizens can't do a whole lot but we can at least protest it and try to educate people on what the real goal here is. We're headed for a dictatorship people. -
The only way you're allowed to be "offended" or "discriminated against" is if you're a liberal on welfare. And being an illegal alien always helps too!

What would be a reasonable price for one? Closed and open bolt models? -
I haven't had any experience with these weapons but I was looking at a couple of them on Gunbroker and there is a huge difference in prices for whatever reason. I know a couple of them are obviously automatic but I don't get the differences in the others. What are the perks of open vs. closed bolt? Are all the open bolt models automatic? What is the general consensus on these guns? Worth the money? Reliable? Thanks in advance guys.

Classic rock.

Savage makes really nice bolt guns for the price. Their Accutrigger is also pretty impressive for stock as well. I've never personally owned one but I've talked to several people who do and they can't say enough good about them.

I totally agree with Richard. While the Woodland Marpat is pretty good, my personal favorite for East TN is Realtree AP. Blends in great!! Richard is totally correct in saying that the military has to blend in anywhere, anytime. You, however, have the advatage of knowing where you will be and when you will be there and can plan accordingly. If I were you I would go with a commercial brand of camoflage. Just my .02

I'm afraid it will get pushed through like Osamacare. Not technically passed but implemented anyway. Everybody knows it happened. Nobody cares enough to do anything.
-
Yeah me too. Now they'll have at least 3 sets of letters to ignore :-\

This is how I was raised as well. Some people would flip out on you for letting your kids handle guns at that age but if you supervise them and teach them everything they need to know, your kids will be among the safest gun owners/users there are. The dangerous households are the ones where guns ARE taboo and mysterious. Way to go JB!
