I couldn't agree more. The only reason I don't generally open carry is that when I'm out in town I'm generally by myself. If I'm going to be advertising that I'm armed, I want to have a buddy as a force multiplier or further deterrent from someone doing something stupid. I definitely think that more respectable people should open carry so people can see that guns don't just jump out of their holsters and shoot people.

When I was in Iraq in 2008, we got our absentee ballots on Halloween. Something tells me they didn't get sent back to the U.S. on next-day air...

Exactly. To me, the problem seems to be democraps-at-heart running as Republicans (McCain and the like). They get a lot of votes just because they're well known and they're under the Republican ticket. But when they get in, they're just another liberal vote most of the time. There's a HUGE difference in the words "Republican" and "Conservative".

Precisely why I didn't propose a timeline. :) They made absolutely no effort whatsoever to resist this garbage going on in NY.   Dave, it's not because the state passed laws, its because Remington is perfectly fine with it.

  I understand this. But I also believe that they could have moved and still taken the contract. I don't mean be out by tomorrow, but they could have done it and we all know that. It would have to be a slow process but would probably pay in the long run if their employees are, in fact, unionized or being paid union rates. Dave, I am most certainly in full support of anyone I perceive to be upholding and supporting the Constitution. I don't see that from Remington right now.

Magpul figured it out. I don't know why Remington can't. 80 million is a lot of money but I think our Constitutional rights are worth more. Remington sold us out IMHO.

Saw this on Facebook. Pretty awesome.     Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11-year-old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay-shooting champion since she was nine.Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the ...street... where he bled to death before medical help could arrive. It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0'Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........?

One thing that I don't think people realize is that when a cop breaks the law, the uniform means absolutely nothing. At that point, the cop becomes the criminal.

Spots I'm pretty sure that you, me, and pretty much every other veteran are already on every "list" there is, so probably not much to worry about.

When will the American public in general realize that the problem isn't the instrument used in the crime, but the criminal him/herself. If you take away every useful object from people who want to kill, they'll beat people to death with their fists. It's so obvious it's frustrating.
