  1.   It's pretty bad out here. Heard that 26 has a lot of problems. I work in Abingdon and it is pretty bad out there. Be safe.
  2. Going to start my copy this coming week. I got covered up with work and stuff and haven't had a chance to read it. Looking forward to talking about it. Thanks again. Hope you've been doing well.
  3.   Yes. I just checked again and it is fine. They could even be pushed down a little further if needed, but they didn't get in the way of my big noggin.
  4. Great thread and discussion guys. I just got my first shotgun today and this thread has some good info in it. I posted mine in Show and Tell since this thread is already here and I had some of the same questions, so I didn't want to double up. Thanks for all the advice and links/information here.
  5. Hey guys. I just got my Mossberg 500 today. It is my first shotgun. I'm hoping to get it out this weekend. I'll report back when I do. I'm still reading and it will be a week before I can buy some different ammunition to try. I just picked up the Winchester game loads for now. Here are some pictures from a few angles. I've read a lot of good reviews on this gun and the few people I've talked to in Chat on here like them as well. What do you all think of it? Thanks for your time/input. I appreciate all you guys/gals here. Stock fully extended: Stock fully closed: Cartridge holder: Top View/Safety: Heat Shield:
  6. Here is a better article on it.    http://www.wcyb.com/news/Greeneville-classes-resume-with-armed-officer-at-each-school/-/14590844/18039848/-/12o9yg0/-/index.html
  7. I saw this on the news tonight. I didn't see it posted here. Apologies if this is a duplicate.    "Today marks the first day that a Greeneville police officer is posted at all six Greeneville City schools on a full-time basis in an effort to enhance the safety of students and staff. Above, students arrived about 8 a.m. at Hal Henard Elementary School, where Officer Cameron Spradlin, left, is on duty. Pre-K teacher Heather Jones, standing at center of photo, and Principal Janet Ricker, at right, assist incoming students."   Source:   http://www.greenevillesun.com/Local_News/article/Police-Presence-Begins-At-All-Greeneville-Schools-id-322668
  8. Edit: Wrong thread. Sorry.
  9. Great pictures everybody. Here is our dog Heidi. She is an Australian Terrier. My wife rescued her nearly 12 years ago.
  10. My grandfather always gives a $2 bill to any family member, friend, neighbor, or anybody we know when they have a newborn baby. I thought it was just an old tradition or something, but haven't heard of anyone else doing it. Anybody else heard of this?   This thread also reminds me that he never went to any gun shows. I may need to ask him where all these $2 bills are coming from.
  11. It'll be after the first week in Jan before I can really get started on mine. I'm looking forward to it though. I have it loaded on my phone and ready to go.
  12. Merry Christmas to you and everyone else here as well.
  13. My uncle is a gun guy/hunter. The stuff he needs or may want, I definitely can't afford. Usually each year I get him some hunting gloves, hat, cheap knife, etc.    I'm usually a last minute shopper, but don't feel like going out. So, I was thinking and ended up doing a magazine subscription for him. I did Guns and Ammo (2 yrs, 24 issues was $15). I picked the current issue up at the magazine rack at the grocery store to have something to wrap. Threw in a 20 rnd pack of 7.62x39. So for just over $25, I think I got a pretty useful gift for him.    I'm thinking of doing this next year for others based on their interests, like Sports Illustrated, Field and Stream, Popular Mechanics, Food Network, etc.    Anyway, I thought it was a pretty good idea and thought I'd share for you last minute folks that have somebody hard to pick out gifts for or even looking for a last minute stocking stuffer without having to hit the mall or Wally World. It's pretty cheap and is something they'll get use out of for at least a year. Just be careful about auto-renews.
  14. Yeah, I just looked through a few news sites to see what they were saying. This one didn't show anything about what they proposed, just the blaming of everything in the media and then the huge image of the protest sign. I was looking at it from CZ's post of what a casual news reader seeing what happened during the conference and then moving on.     Hope you fellas have a good day.
  15. Another sign and protest.
  16. Good job by Wayne LaPierre keeping his composure and then picking right back up after the idiot was escorted out.
  17. Wow. Somebody holding up a banner that NRA killing our kids.
  18. Here are some links from a search I did. Maybe one of these will work for you. 19. Try it from nranews.com.    I'm looking to see if any other sites are carrying a feed.
  20. Just a few minutes away, but thought I'd remind everyone. Live feed on NRA website.
  21. I don't have an AR or any need at the moment for high capacity magazines. All I have to buy for is .22lr and 9mm. I buy some 30-30 occasionally, but haven't shot it that much.   I stopped last night on the way home from work at Mahoney's in Abingdon VA. (Mostly to see what prices were) Recently, they had Blazer .22lr 525 pack for $14.99. It is now $19.99. Federal/Independence/Blazer 9mm was 10.99 for 50 and is now 12.99. They had a limit of 2 on each. I don't use it, but 7.62 Tullamo was $6.99 for 20 rnds I think, with a limit of 2.    I would like to buy up some .22 and 9mm, but money is tight and I'm ok with what I have. I'm still new to all of this and this is the first rush/panic buying I have seen.    I heard the lady behind the register tell someone that she's "went through several trees today", as she was pulling Credit Card receipts from the register.
  22. Got it! Thanks again.
  23. This is very thoughtful. I haven't posted in a little while, so I didn't want to come off as just trying to get a freebie, but I'd be very thankful to receive a copy. Thank you. I will message my email account if you still have any available.   Thanks again.    JD
  24. The pulled pork was good and the banana pudding was good. I'll go back, but I'm not going to recommend going out of your way for it if you all have other places you really enjoy. If you aren't going to JC or anywhere and just looking for some quick, close bbq, it was worth it. Lots of people were doing the to go, by the pound orders. They also have about 15 different types of hot dog combos if that's your thing. I put some pictures up in the Food/drink thread.
