  1. +1 for pandora
  2. She ran about thirty yards but with mush for lungs she dropped pretty quick.
  3. Chemicals came in today. I have it soaking in 10 gallons of water, 5 oz of acid and 10 lbs of salt. The instructions said to wait about 3 days. Here we go!
  4. Naifeh. 'nuff said.
  5. I had a guy at arbys tell me I couldn't walk around with a gun. I showed him my permit and told him I darn well could. I asked him if it made him uncomfortable. He said he had been robbed a few times and he was very uncomfortable. I told him he should blame the criminals that robbed him and not the gun. Furthermore he should look into getting a permit himself. He was not amused.
  6. Too funny. I would totally rock that Mercedes though.
  7. Cool! If you do end up wanting to get rid of it... My Para Big Hawg could use a little brother...

    AR-15 optics

I have an aimpoint you can try out if you like. You can get a 3x magnifier to put behind it. But on my rifle I thought it would be slightly pointless. Also, one thing you want to look at in optics is the co-witness, Whether you want absolute , lower 1/3rd, etc. -Mike
  10. Either that or a rug. Still undecided.
  11. Still waiting on chemicals. Had a question on trimming the hide to final dimensions. Near the neck where the hair points backwards is there any way to dress the edge a little where it doesn't look like Its been trimmed back? Thanks for all the help so far Dave!
  12. Would you belive that I shot her with a .45 at about 30 yards? Got her right behind both shoulders and through both lungs. -Mike
  13. It only took about 45 minutes to do. Most everything came off when I skinned it. I just had some fat near the shoulders and tail and a bit of muscle across the middle back to take off. I did salt everything before I did any fleshing at all. It made everything stick together very nice and come off it out too much trouble. I just worked the point of my knife in a circular motion and made lots of little sweeps at the edge of the fat and worked my way through it.
  14. The hide so far...
  15. Just a question on breaking the hide. Will it get hard as the tanning process goes on? I've salted mine and so far the hide is still very soft and flexible.
  16. Hello Paul!
  17. Will do!
  18. Wow! Thank you! I just finished salting the hide today. I guess I'll have to freeze it until my chemicals come. I ordered 1 lb of ez-tan, 1 quart of protal, and 1 quart of saftee acid. Ended up being about 20 bucks.
  19. It got shot down a while back.
  20. 18" barrels pop up on www.golsn.com all the time. I'll keep an eye out.
  21. Nice! I've always had a soft spot for one of those.
  22. HAHAHA YES! Iddqd.... Idkfa....Idclip... I still have those committed to memory..
  23. Anyone played Brothers in Arms:Highway to Hell? I was looking at it the other day but ended up putting it back on the shelf. Edit: for those of you looking, COD is one of my favorite games yet on the PS3. I'm still trying to get through the veteran levels... It's crazy hard.
  24. COD4 and COD: World at War. I haven't played any of the rainbow 6 games but they look ok. COD titles are my personal favorites. -Mike
