    Turkey!

Dropped the bird off with Brian at wild wings today. Great guy. He spent over an hour talking to me making sure that I was getting excactly what I wanted. Should be a 6 to 12 month wait now. www.duxrus.com
  4. Wow. I might have to see about getting a .204 upper for my AR. A bit steep at 855.00, but.... Damn.
  5. Best The Outpost. - Reasons should be simple enough. Hero-Gear - Joe and Dan are great and willing to help. I've learned alot from both of them. Worst. On-Target. - Limited selection, they ignore me every time I'm in there, pricks behind the counter.
  6. One more here for the 411 on donating. Extra cash would be nice.
  7. Hunting101 and I were having a discussion on this the other day. Does anyone have any experience with the .204 Ruger? What kind of range could I expect? Recoil? Accuracy? From what I see, it looks like a great varmint/coyote rifle. The round moves at 3650fps and doesn't seem to be affected by the wind too much. Thanks -Mike
  8. I just want to step in and dispose of the "Shotgun Myth". 1. Racking the action will not immediately cause the BG to defecate and leave the premises. 2. You still have to aim. Buckshot will not open up and spray an area like people imagine shotguns do. At 15-20 ft(pretty much max in-home range) it opens up to about a 1.5-3" group. at 40ft it only opens up to about 6-7". 3. Over-penetration. Don't use birdshot in an attempt to minimize wall penetration. You also minimize flesh penetration. birdshot will only penetrate about 1". Much less than is required to do the damage that needs to be done. Everyone here has covered most of the other topics. Please ask any questions you may have, Sarah. There is no such thing as a stupid question, and there are more than enough people on here that would be more than happy to answer. I imagine if you would like to get some trigger time in before you buy to see what you like and don't like we can help you out there as well. -Mike
  9. If you want to break one in without spraying a bunch of junk in the holster. Stuff the pistol in a thin dress sock and work it into the holster. Leave it overnight and remove in the morning. Done.
  10. Saturdays are insanely busy. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you. Glad you came by though!
  11. Good news! Got the call on Friday. I will be going back to work at CSX. I've been off since early January. It will be good to go back to a steady job. I will still be working at The Outpost, so it will be interesting juggling my schedule around for the next couple of weeks until I get used to it. -Mike
  12. I posted that on the 24th. We sold the last we had on the 25th. No word as to when more will come in. -Mike
  13. We collect what the state requires us to collect.
  14. ... F**k... Paragraphs. All that for a trail bike on a logging road?
  15. I asked my grandfather about his time in Korea once when I was about 12 or 13. He reacted the same way. A few years ago, I learned what he went through over there. I remember it was very odd seeing him withdraw so quickly and get so quiet. On topic. Drawn and fired twice. Both deer that had been hit on the road. Clipped one in my truck and shot it to put it out of it's misery. I live out in the county so no public discharge laws. Second I was a few cars behind someone when they hit one. Same deal. No people fortunately. I'd like to keep it that way. -Mike

    IO Inc ?

Thats what mine look like. US receiver, barrel, trigger pack, romanian bolt. I like the pistol grip they are using 10 times better than the tapco unit. The stock is a bit plasticy? But very solid with a rubberized buttpad. I don't like the front hand guard, but I like very few things that Tapco makes. It has the sling mounts on the side of the rifle, which is awesome for carrying one with a mag in it. It keeps the rifle doing what it wants to do naturally while being very comfortable to carry. The mag is made by wilson moldings and it's kind of cheap feeling. However a good supply of Romanian mags will fix that. Overall a solid rifle. American. Lick it. It'll taste like liberty... ...and cosmoline.
