Anyone know a good place to go in the middle Tn area? Ive been wanting to go for a while. Mike
  2. I ave a Hornady LnL and I love it. Dillons are good presses too. You can't beat either. I liked the bushing system on the Hornady over the plate system used by Dillon. Plus the 500 free bullets was a nice touch. Mike
  3. Don't come back with that sass young'un.
  4. Yes, I use a Pact Club Timer 3. It sounds an audible beep and records your shot times from there. PACT Club Shot Timer 3 - MidwayUSA

    Puppy vs Shepard

You can watch the GSD and see it's thoughts.. "Hmmm.. How can I do this without eating you.."
  6. Mid. Lower gas pressures, slight increase in reliability, longer forearm, longer sight radius. Mike
  7. Looks nice. The stock extension looks kind of weird on there. Should be a fun one to play around with. Mike
  8. It's a little smaller than Todd's target. I didn't print any off before I went out so I ended up using some of these. Yeah, the splits are a little long. I still have a lot of work to do.
  9. Oops, missed that double charge, did ya? Mike
  10. I got the inexpensive $25 hornady scale and ended up returning it the next day. It would vary in measurement from .1 to .3 grains. It seemed to jump all over the place. No amount of calibrating, leveling, and fiddling would get it to read consistently. Budget about 100 for a decent scale minimum. The Hornady GS-350 is a nice one for not a whole lot of money. Mike
  11. No problem, practice away!
  12. If I can get the reload under 2 seconds and the draw at 1 second I'll be pretty happy.
  13. pistol-training.com » F.A.S.T. (Fundamentals, Accuracy, & Speed Test) What are your times? I can do 5.7-6.1 seconds pretty consistently I scored this one yesterday. Unfortunately it's a fluke, I'm not consistent at that speed. I did this run then the next one I juggled the magazine for a second before I got it into the pistol. Overall and splits Target Mike
  14. It's not a "drop in" conversion at all. The barrels are press fit and pinned. It is possible but at the same time it would be way easier to just buy a CZ-83
  15. Yes.
  16. Like on my backstraps? I took the iron and drug it across the plastic. It creates a nice set of ridges. The starburst pattern is a pretty popular one.
  17. One thing, your pattern looks well laid out, function wise no problem, aesthetically it looks weird. I can see rows and columns in the stippling. I usually try to poke the iron in the "pocket" of two previous dots. It randomized the pattern and by making it irregular in pattern you make it uniform in look. Mike
  18. On a rifle those would be awesome. Especially if you're wearing gloves. My AFG on my AR is stippled like that. It really holds well. I'm thinking about doing my AK forend too.

    Unit patch?

Anyone have any info on this patch? It's on the left sleeve of my granddad's field jacket. Mike
  20. Dies are almost universal. They all have standardized threads.
  21. I tried out a bunch of different patterns on spare stuff i had lying around. I used all of my extra backstraps, about 4 ar grips. My tool came with about 4 tips so i tried them all to find out what I liked and what worked for me. I even completely re-did the stippling on my pistol after I tried it one way and didn't like it. Mike
  22. Who's die system? Lee or hornady? I'm using my lee dies on the hornady right now with no problems.
  23. Reloading is the way to go with the .458. Otherwise it's stupid expensive to shoot.
  24. Looks good. I found stippling that deep a little uncomfortable when I was shooting. I went for a little shallower depth with more DPI. It's all personal preference. Good job!
