  1. We had a great time out there, thanks guys! Mike
  2. I'd go with a full size 9mm. It's not like they explode when you pull the trigger.... Mike
  3. Peltor sport-tacs. Great ear pro for the money. Especially good at classes and any situation where you want to communicate easily. Mike
  4. What's up, Paul!
  5. Brake parts cleaner will speed up the removal phase. Just hose it out. It works just the same. There are no Gun oil factories. Nearly everything you see is re purposed and repackaged lubricants. There's only so much technology you can pour into something slippery before it becomes a game of negligibnle differences. Given the time and stresses that these lubricants are likely to see.(read: nowhere near their operational limits...) You are more likely to clean it off put more on long before it actually needs more. Mike
  6. They are fun rifles. Keep track of your round count. Every 1k it needs to go back to FN for maintenance. Mike
  7. I'll be there with two more. Mike
  8. I have a really nice knife a guy I work with made from a polished up railroad spike. This one was made from a deuce and a half leaf spring. Mike
  9. Flame throwers aren't classified as anything. They aren't fire arms and aren't destructive devices. No permits or stamps are required at all to manufacture or sell them. Mike
  10. Buy a tub of red grease at Walmart and never worry about buying gun lube again. I have run several intense 3k+ round classes with this and it has never dried up, burnt off, or migrated out of the guns. It works very well. To clean all you need to do is hose it down with brake cleaner and wipe it off. Mike
  11. No, the high temperature gasses that blow through at very high pressured do a fantastic job of self cleaning. I personally have run one of my rifles over 7k rounds without cleaning it. Just keep cheap red grease on the bolt carrier and it will keep running. Mike
  12. The trigger in my DD rifle is pretty good. Mike
  13. Just go shoot AK's for a while. Then when you try your AR trigger again you will damn near **** a brick at how awesome it is. Mike
  14. You will need a rear sight. Possibly one of the best designed fixed rear's available. https://danieldefense.com/components-parts/a1-5-fixed-rear-sight.html
  15. From the website. It is a great place to stay. It extends the time you get with the instructors so you can ask any questions you might have, or you can just hang out and watch TV with everyone. There is an excellent atmosphere there. Mike
  16. There are quite a few options for professional training near Nashville. Mike
  17. Mike

    AR, gas question.

Probably getting some bolt bounce with the light buffer/strong spring setup. Mike
  18. I agree, it's better than standing still shooting at nothing. It's still not training. It's a game. With rules. With those rules come a host of bad habits that can be developed. Mike
  19. Of the two with your requirements I would go with the PPS. The G36 will not give you any advantage over the kel tec you have now being that it is setup for a right handed mag release. IDPA is not training. Not even remotely close. Mike
  20. My friend gave me an Emerson karambit. Neat little knife.
  21. Joe, I guess the questions that need to be asked.. What are you looking to do with it? What are you requirements? and what scenario do you see yourself needing it? Mission dictates equipment. Mike
  22. Your regular holster should be of serviceable use on your belt. When you put stuff over your mag pouches it makes it much more difficult to get your mags out. Not to mention the muscle memory shift of where you go to get your pistol. Add to that a rifle sling that's probably going to get tangled up in there somewhere and it's a mess waiting to happen.
  23. I would look at the SOE micro rig. It is extremely simple. It hold four mags and a med kit. It can be worn as a chest rig or like a satchel. John makes quality gear right here in TN. Original S.O.E. Gear Mike
  24. I use the cheap tub of Walmart red grease. It has never failed me and stays where you put it. Cheap too. Mike
