  1. I like those. Did see one in the classified I like. I’m amazed at how many 7.5’s are out there. I’ve always liked Bravo co. Would be nice if it had bcg and charging handle. Did see one on gun broker.
  2. This is something I’ve been researching for a couple weeks. I think I gotta try this at least a couple times. Those 2 are the same ones I’ve gotten wrote down along with a Nikon. Thanks for the info. What part in the mid south are you? Wouldn’t mind having a look one day.
  3. Several yrs ago I started buying pieces for a 300 blk out pistol. I sorta did it bass ackwards with getting a AAC suppressor, BCI lower and EOtech. Well life got in the way, new small farm and building. I’ve decided to go ahead with a sbr. I’m looking around online and there’s lots of new names. I don’t want to spend a fortune but not really interested in trying to find the cheapest out there. So I’m asking for y’all’s opinion on a upper in a price range from 600-900 give or take a few bucks. I’m also open to something nice if I can justify it in my small head.
  4. After being in storage for almost 2yrs, I’ve just about got it organized. Not the flashiest but comfortable to be in. If feels good to be at this point
  5. Yes prices go up. To give you an idea on things, the orange GTO is a date coded restoration. It has around 3500 hrs in it and it's first show scored 1096 out of a possible 1100. It is 1 of 58 built Ram air IV. The blue one is a nut and bolt restoration. Just a little over 1500 hrs. Obviously you can build one cheaper as depends on how far you want to carry it. I've built over 400 Corvette chassis for the older cars using late model components, but my next 2 projects are going to be a 70 TransAm and some kind of old style 60's Gasser Takes practice and mess a few up and fix them.
  6. Dave thanks for the reply. The reason I ask is 99.9% of the work I've done over the yrs have been for ppl all over the states. I'm in a small town and everyone knows me but there's not enough work to support me. I went to a couple local shows last year and surprised a lot of ppl. The shows I've been going to for 10+ yrs have been the national type. I'm very popular there but don't have the funds to compete with ppl that's been in business all those yrs. It's hard to take a car I've done at another shop and display as mine, I try to have moral's. I'll post some random pics of things I've built. Peejman you are correct. That's the best. Ronald I'm more into hard core fabrication than small lot work. I'll throw in a few of the shop even though it's not finished yet.
  7. Im looking for places in Nashville to do some advertising for a shop I'm opening up. Been restoring and modding cars for 30 yrs. Always been on the other side of shop doing the work. It's time I learn the other side of things. Any ideas will be helpful!!!
  8. Fair enough, can't argue with that.
  9. For the next person that works there. Might work longer and could cause health issues.
  10. I recently worked in a shop that the septic tank vent did not exit the building. I realized this one day looking for something. Two bathrooms and a house with one bath run on this system. I was also told that it has 2 55 gal drums for tanks. On certain days the smell would be worse than others. had headaches for about a year. I no longer work there and was thinking about saying something about it to who ever I would need to. Just need someone's opinion on this. Thanks Andy
  11. I will definitely get in touch with them. I'm going to plan on going to a few events and watch what goes on. That can give us an idea of how things work. No way I could show up without him having a understanding of how the day goes. On a good note, I ordered him a semi auto shotgun today for Christmas.
  12. Exactly what I have on my mind.
  13. Yes on bench rest. Are you referring to safety or the math on training. Safety comes first and I stress it everyday. As for the math end of shooting I'm self talt and do prurdy good, could always do better. I do reload and have a game plan before I walk in the door. I make sure I have time without interruption. I don't have the nicest room or all the bells and whistles.
  14. I will look into steel matches, he would be proud to do any of it. The deal between 3 gun and BR is, it could be done with items available with a lil more time spent learning. For BR, 7-08 that could get to 600 but not 1000. Do have a 338 Lapua, but he would be hurting after day, he's small frame skinny boy.
  15. He does good. Just needs more time spent. I'll check it out.
  16. My 13 yr old son said he wanted to try some competition shooting. We have never been to any kind of event. Mainly shooting off the back porch and enjoying life that way. For the past several yrs he has got a firearm for Christmas. Think I'll keep that a family tradition. Just curious where there are events where I can get him started. I suppose most youth would be .22 long in 3 gun, I haven't a clue. He has mentioned BR as he is fascinated with a 1000 yrd shot, but I explained he has to take baby steps. Any advice is appreciated
  17. I decided to go see Mr Wells and get a gun trust. Just the best logical answer to end all questionable doubt.
  18. Thanks OS! Info is very helpful. My biggest worry was the ability to swap uppers on a road trip. Even though they are in legal form. I did purchase a lower and starting my first pistol build. Ron, I don't see any hijacking here...glad you posted.
  19. Some of my reading came up with intent with other parts laying around. Maybe reading to much too fast. Legal form is all that matters?
  20. I am looking at building a ar pistol. I am wanting a 10.5 barrel. I have read the laws and understand as much as I can. This will be a dedicated pistol as long as I own it. I understand the buffer tube vs stock I think. Does this require a tax stamp? If it does not, what could I do to make it dedicated. If this one of those really stupid question, just delete and I'll understand.
  21. Thanks for the replays....I thought I was going crazy when I couldn't find what I posted about. I assume the form is for using purposes only? Overnight stays in motels and work would need to be listed also?
  22. Been learning about a NFA trust/class 3 and all I can take in. I live on the state line and travel mostly in Alabama. I've read that ATF needs to be notified if crossing state lines. How would this work on a weekly trips to range? Also learning about trustees, is it possible to have a out of state trustee listed. Some where I read that you can have up to 5 class 3's on one stamp or did I dream it up. Have searched but nothing came up. Andy
