Zero Tolerance 0350: Stonewash or Tiger Stripe serrated blade
R4MBO replied to jimmydeuce's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Wallet is now lighter after seeing this thread...Ordered a tiger striped plain edge from kershawguy -
There is definitely a lot to chew on.

A good friend of mine put in a lot of time and research for this very long, well-written piece on his thoughts of gun control. I feel like politicians pushing the AWB and mag capacity limit need to read this to get their facts straight. http://eudaimoniabygrace.wordpress.com/2013/01/20/a-few-thoughts-on-gun-control/

I did not realize that! I am in pharmacy school so I will definitely have to check that out after I graduate.

Nice...really liking Jeff's knife

Glock and iPhone 4s...had an Android for a couple years, but the battery and UI are subpar IMO.

+2 I just put the pancake wings on mine and am even happier with it.

Thanks for sharing...and yeah, it was a "shooter" for sure. Tell your buddy congrats on the buck!

I did mine at the Gun Room in Lebanon on a Sunday. The class that they do there on Sundays is faster than the full 8 hour day because you don't take a lunch break and try to limit other breaks. It also had a smaller class size (only 6 others with me) so the wait for the range is really nonexistent. It'd be worth checking on. I did it here because the G&L class had already filled up when I had the opportunity to take mine. Cost is $80 and the instructor is very good. http://www.thegunroomshootingrange.com/

I was on my aunt and uncle's property in a stand when this guy follwing a doe came up from behind me. I shot him about 30 yards out with my Savage 110 30-06 (recent purchase from Guns and Leather for a steal) with Nikon Prostaff scope. He ran about ten yards before falling. Hope to get back out soon because there are at least 4 doe on the property, and my aunt says she's spotted a 10-pointer running around too.

The only cost you will have is if you take an online portion of the class and then spend about 4 hours at a site to take the test. My schedule is pretty busy and doing the regular 10 hour live class didn't work for me.

Congrats on your new, timely purchase!

Sounds like you don't need much convincing after shooting it. Before I bought my Gen 3 G19 I tried to handle and shoot as many guns I was interested in as possible (M&P, SR9, G19). I shot a friend's SR9c and liked it, fondled and dry fired the M&P and Gen 3 and 4 G19s. The gen 3 felt the best in my hand, and it's a Glock. Love it and recommend it for others to try...but like I said, sounds like you don't need much convincing. G&L in Hendersonville is who I got mine from, paid in cash so they gave me a little discount, and have since bought other firearms from them.

I would definitely be interested as well!

tried medium rings but the objective bell was hitting the mount base and causing it to be way to high when they tried to zero it. tried the high rings and that fixed the problem.

Think it's ready for some deer...now I just need some quality time shooting. Scope mounted with Weaver 1" High Rings. I'm a happy guy!

I'll post pictures later tonight of the Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 BDC that I put on it today. Luckily had some coupons to Dick's Sporting Goods and was able to get it about as cheap as I would anywhere online, plus they used the boresight on it to get it close to zero (hopefully).

There's the new addition...looking forward to getting a scope on and getting it ready for rifle season. I also got to handle the new .45acp XDs while I was there, and I was very impressed with the size and comfort in my hand. Thanks for all the help!

Just picked up the Savage 110 30-06 that G&L had on clearance for $150...couldn't pass that deal up.

Inside Waist Band Carry uncomfortable.

I carry a G19 IWB with the Raven Concealment phantom holster. I was able to try a friend's out before I ordered mine, and it is comfortable to me. -
This is a pic I got from the EDC topic in case anyone wanted to see it

I just put in an order with Dave from http://www.kershawguy.com/ for the brown Skyline with the black blade. He's selling them for $45 shipped which is much cheaper than what they have been going for on eBay.

A buddy of mine has the SR9c and loves it. I got to shoot it at the range one day, and it is a very smooth gun. Hope you get to send some more rounds down range soon.

Still don't think I would use a .25acp to hunt...especially my Colt Junior
