When I split a case, and after I pull the bullet and save the powder and bullet, I resize the split case and save the primer. I use them in practice rounds. I have not had a misfire with any of them.

We always called them zerk fittings or [Oh s*#t fittings] if you snapped one off. But you were going to have to drill it out to the next easy out size and then after getting the zerk fitting out having to soak it in cleaning solution and blow all the shavings out.

I've watched half a dozen referrals from other TGO members pertaining to LEO's stopping a person and the person asked the officer "If they are being detained or could they go?" What's the difference between being detained and being arrested?

Oh! I don't know. This sounds like a really non violent form of self defense. You wouldn't have to shoot anybody. Just pull the gun out. The smell would run the perp off.

I was told, at my last eye exam that I have cataracts in both eyes. But they aren't hindering my sight enough to do anything about. I've had these pop bottles hanging on my face as long as I can remember. It's my understanding that they plant "contacts? " In your eyes at the same time as they remove the clouded lens. I will need reading glasses but my vision will be better than what I have now with glasses. I can't wait.

Went there last month for the first time. Only complaint I had was that I got my shoes soaked when I opened the door and all the testosterone flooded out. Great place. They like their stuff a little too much, but a great place.

L.A. police find stash of 1,200 guns in dead man's home
Ray Z replied to tennesseetiger's topic in General Chat
Aaah yes! our news media at work again. You can call it a stash or an arsenal if you want to. I call it one hell of a collection. I saw an $8000 Barrett, at least two Fox sterlingworth side by sides, and the cop was holding , what I think was ,a $1000 Remington police rifle. They showed the ""two tons of ammo". What I saw wasn't enough to feed half of that collection. -
I have a 686 - 6" and it's a great gun. I just bought a Ruger GP 100 match and love it. If I were going for one or the other it would be the GP 100 match. Easy to sight, really nice double action trigger, and fun to plink with.

Had a chance to fondle one at the NRA convention. The big sales pitch was the soft recoil and ease in cycling the slide. So it was more appealing to the ladies. What's your take on that?

You know that they had to side with their bleeding heart buddies

full auto and/or 50 BMG shooting event near East TN?
Ray Z replied to 13brv3's topic in Events and Gatherings
I'll definitely plan to do Knob Creek one of these years. It sounds like a pretty worthwhile road trip. Been there, seen that, it's a got to do. Take some money with you. The flea market is great. It takes hours to get through it. There is a machine gun rental and a jungle walk. Plan on staying for the night shoot Plenty of tracers, explosives, and gasoline. Nothing is cheap. But it's something you will not see every weekend and will remember for the rest of your life. -
I don't think anyone has addressed your question directly. Letting shooters access my land could lead to a liability problem. I am very selective on who I let shoot here. Gun clubs are a much better choice for your shooting needs. Covered firing points, access to different types of ranges [pistol, rifle plinking], and a lot of other shooters for a base for information are just a few.

Oh yea! Brings back a lot of memories. Before the boys came along. That would be about 40 years ago, I shot smallbore. At that time the Anschutz 1413 was the gun to have. When we shot prone matches we shot 50 yards, 50 meters, and 100 yards. But all the rifle in the world wouldn't put you on your game if you didn't feed it right. Eley 10x is what we used for the matches and Eley club for practice. If you dope the wind right and can read the mirage your 100 yard targets would have dime sized groups. But that was 70 lbs. and two kids ago.

I like this sticker. But unfortunately the caption under it should say " Break into me first "

As you said, only enough to let the bullet into the case without shaving the sides of it off.

After reading what y'all posted and after reading other posts the next time I have to load new brass I'll give it 30-45 minutes in the tumbler. THANKS GUYS
-
I tried that with several dozen cases without any improvement
-
I'll check that out. It should only take a couple of minutes with a dermal tool to smooth out any tool marks.

Just enough bell to let the bullet start in the case. For what those cases cost I don't want to take even a little life out of them.

Got 1000 44 special cases from starline and loaded them for summer shooting a couple of weeks ago. Only problem I had was with the belling station on my 650. The cases slid in OK but it took both hands on the handle to get them back off. I started using some imperial sizing wax on the expander and it made things easier but slowed down the process. Every 5 case or so I had to stop and apply the wax to the stem. Any ideas on how to load new brass without the slowdown?
