I do trade time for money, but my reloads are cleaner, more accurate, more consistent, and without muzzle flash. The last time I had to buy a box of new ammo not only my gun but my hands were filthy. Besides, as far as I'm concerned, that's part of the sport.

I checked out their website. It seems to be a bit of a high dollar item, but so far it's at the top of my list.
-
Thanks, The next time I get up to Knoxville I'll check it out.

Gave up my '04 Tahoe about a month ago. It was an old friend but it had 172k miles on it and it was starting to really go past the nickle and dime to death point. This is my first pickup [15 Silverado} Now I'm looking to cover the bed with something and I can't make up my mind what. Hard cover, soft cover, which one, yada, yada, yada.

Mike at LawEnforcementSalesTN, Look what you've started!

OHHH NOOO! My wife can't wait for Halloween so she won't get shot down. -
OK, here's my question of the day. Can you trim 45acp brass down to 45gap length and reload it?

Shocked at what I saw at DL station

Folks like that just don't get it. -
Humm, now I'm going to have to check it again. I did slide a dollar bill down the stock, but before I put the bipod on.

Got one in 308. One hole groups at 150 yds with match ammo. Don't need to replace the trigger. That one will adjust to 8 ozs, trust me. Don't need the bolt knob. It's already there. Don't need the stock either. It's bedded and free floated. Hell!, it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Looked into pellet stoves because they look really nice. Not going to save much on heat unless you buy your pellets by the skid. Oh, the smoke stinks a lot.

Talking to me about Progressive Presses
Ray Z replied to CommsNBombs's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
First of all, your mind set if off for using a progressive loader. When you set up for a caliber you should be thinking about loading 500-1000 rounds. Dillons powder measures are spot on with pistol powders. When you get to the extruded rifle powders you could see as much as a half grain variation in your drops. But that's with anybody's powder measure. I shoot as much as 5000 rounds a year in 9mm. Plus other calibers. When I set up for 9mm I won't change the press until I run out of cases. I have loaded on a Dillon 650 for years. Wouldn't change for anything. It ain't broke, I'm not going to fix it. If I were you I'd spring the bucks for a Dillon 650. -
Knoxville Allowing Fair to Prohibit Guns in a Park
Ray Z replied to Just2Honor's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
My wife and I didn't go. My oldest son, his wife and two kids didn't go. My other son and his lady didn't go. Our family made our statement. I hope there were a lot more here that made the same statement. The oncoming lawsuit is icing on the cake. If any profits from the event are absorbed in the cost of litigation that would be just fine with me. Way too many bleeding heart liberals controlling our lives now. -
When I load a batch of 9mm I always resize the cases, then chamber check each case in the barrel of a 9mm. Some of the cases that have been shot in a Glock have the swollen base that is so prevalent with cases out of that chamber. Also the crimped primer pockets from military brass give me problems. I always swage the pockets of that brass before I try to seat a primer in them.
-
I like the idea of putting the material back instead of cutting it away. RCBS has a swaging tool that goes in your press that's nice [ got one, used it for a long time]. Dillon makes a bench mounted tool that really works well. But it is a bit pricey.

Oh heck no! Crisco is shortening.

It's sorta like confusing the Vicks with the Vaseline. You're in for a hell of a ride,,,,,,,,,,,, once.

I've never seen a 22 hole in a target at 200 yards. But then we shop in different stores. http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=spotting+scope

I'm like you, I just haven't had run ins with LEO's. I either got it out of my system when I was a teenager or I just don't do "it". I'm glad they're there and I know we can't do without them. I guess I've just watched too many Cops shows on TV.

I never could get used to the Glock trigger. I had the Glocks that I own worked over by Glock armors and they they have 3# triggers but they're still Glock. Love my M&P's.

Knoxville Allowing Fair to Prohibit Guns in a Park
Ray Z replied to Just2Honor's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If I can't carry there I won't be going. That will make room for some hearty group of 6 that don't need to worry about the screwballs of the world all in one place. -
I have seen pictures of the guns that the buy back programs have collected. Pristine Colt Pythons, War relics that were still in cosmoline, M-1 Carbines in unbelievable condition, just to name a few. All slated for the scrap furnace.
-
I guess I must not have said that right. I would like the department to keep the proceeds and purchase equipment with them. Lord only knows that the LEO's shouldn't have to go the city counsel and beg for equipment when the counsel is thinking about the next city sponsored vacation.
-
I would feel a lot better about this if the guns that were turned in were checked for stolen then put up for auction. With the winner filling out a 4473 and the proceeds from the auction going to the department. That could only be a win-win situation. The owner got rid of the unwanted gun, the department got well needed funds, and then the registered firearm was owned by legal citizen that wanted it. This way the police would not be the anti gun enemy here.

How do you resize primed brass? Or do you?
Ray Z replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I use Dillon, Lyman, and Hornady dies. With all three the decaping pin is removable. By doing so I can do all other functions of the die without disturbing the primer.
