  1. Yep! 9mm 124gr plated bullets in front of solo 1000 and Winchester primers. After a two hundred round practical pistol match I run a bore snake through the barrel a couple of times, just for giggles. That's as much cleaning as the pistol needs.
  2. Pleasantly so. I was really looking for the "you know what" to hit the fan
  3. I've been to several auctions. Not just in Tennessee. I agree with Runco, people go nuts on bidding. I saw beat up guns go for over retail. Won't be bothering with this auction.
  4. I am pleasantly surprised that nothing happened at the Star Wars opening.
  5. Been an ORSA member for over 5 years. Even though I have plenty of acreage Here I prefer to shoot the pistol competitions there. Great ranges, great people, great competitions.   Just got my news letter. Dues will be going to $150. It's a little stiff but the money is slated for some fantastic renovations.
  6. Posted 27 December 2015 - 09:03 PM So you said all of that to say that we should buy M&P over Glock? You might want to get on some blood pressure meds because I highly doubt any of our armed forces will be choosing M&P's (or any weapon for that matter) simply because they're American made. I'm not saying I disagree with you about buying American made vs. foreign, but when it comes to protecting me and my family I'm going to buy and use the best tool for the job. I don't care if it's made on the moon. Edited by KKing, 27 December 2015 - 09:08 PM. OK, let me shouted it up a bit Glock triggers are like a window fan. One way it sucks, and the other way it blows. American made products are just as good, if not better Blood pressure is just fine now. Been on meds for that for a couple of years. But thanks for the concern anyway.
  7. The 'ol German comes out of me at times like this. The mark up on gun related stuff is large. When I had one of my open guns built the gunsmith that did it gave me a pint container of synthetic grease from the auto parts place. I've still got almost half of it left. Synthetic grease isn't affected by temperature. So on the coldest days your gun will work just fine and the lubricating ability is better than petroleum grease.
  8. Glocks being made in America is like Japanese cars being made in America.I'll bet the total man hours in American factory's is way less then the man hours spent in Japan on that so called American made car. The steel that used to be made in Northern Ohio is now made,,,, guess where? The cars that used to be made in Detroit are being made a lot farther South. One of the 5 major industries that kept Cincinnati Ohio alive [ GM Norwood ] is now in Mexico. D building at GE in Cincinnati used to be main production for all the jet engines that GE built. Now it's a warehouse. Somewhere in here I'm trying to make a point. America should be for Americans. Our export is nowhere near what it was when we had a dollar to spend. Import tax that the US is charging is nothing compared what to other countries are charging. So their products are cheaper for us to buy leaving our workers out on the street. Is it wrong? Damned right it is. But not if you believe in one world order and one world government.   I could go on with this rant but my blood pressure will go through the roof.
  9. What a slap in the face to American industry. The M&P is just as good, if not better, a firearm as the Glock and it's made in America. I've never heard anyone complain about the trigger either.
  10. It's a pre 1976, have the recall updates been done? Have any modifications been done?   Yes. I remember it would double if you shot the top barrel first. Only made that mistake a couple of times   Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%   $1,375 $1,100 $950 $875 $800 $750 $700   I was really disappointed to see that. I think I paid more than that for it then. I remember coming into the clubhouse from shooting a round. If I had a frown on my face half a dozen guys had their wallets out, trying to buy it from me.
  11. Since, when I do go to the big shooting range in the sky I'm taking everything I've got with me I thought I'd better share what I've got now with my boys. So every Christmas I open the safe and let my two boys choose any one gun they want.   My oldest chose a shotgun that I've had since my trapshooting days [ early 70's ]. A Remington 3200 Trap. I only shot it a couple of times in doubles so it's in mint condition. So it's been sitting in the back of safe since then.   The only Blue Book I've got is pretty well dated. Anybody got an idea what it's worth?
  12. Sorry, I still haven't forgiven them for the AR butt kissing they gave Clinton. It seems that it didn't work anyway.
  13. Ahh yes! Another concerned citizen saving the county tax money
  14. I've had my '15 Silverado for 4 months now. With the small V-8 I'm getting 19.5 MPG. Most of my driving is rural. Only reason I can think of for the higher price is the added testosterone pockets they had to put in it.
  15. Ammo on every corner. When the smoke clears, who'll be left will be law abiding drug free citizens.
  16. Has anyone noticed the subliminal BS the drive-by media is pulling with the election? Pictures of the crazy lady are of a smiling face, full posture person with an air of authority. Those of Trump are of him with his face in a distorted shape look and him in a hunch back kinda position. Considering the appearance they show to the camera, which one would you vote for?
  17. We have made it a family night out at the movies for Starwars, Startrek, and the Bond movies. That being said, with all that's going on with the rag heads and the liberals controlling the theaters I'll protect my family at home because I'm not allowed to at the show.   Like Bersaguy said, I'll wait for the DVD to come out. Popcorn is better here. We use more butter.
  18. The voices in my head telling me what to do the rest of the day
  19. I agree. I use the Al Freeland stand from Champion Shooters Supply   http://www.championshooters.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id=34&Itemid=111
  20. http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=spotting+scope   Got one. Not a bad scope for the money
  21. Hey Jack
  22. Think of all the tax payer's money that was saved because the robber didn't have to be prosecuted.
  23. This whole thing is ridiculously stupid. Their god is better than our god so we have to die.
  24. Resize 30/06 brass in a 8mm Mauser die, trim them to the correct length, and load them yourself. Several manufactures make both hunting and target bullets for 8mm.
  25. The boards don't look like their warped. I think I'd take it apart and reassemble it with screws on a criss cross frame laid on a flat surface.
