1. We have 8 dogs, all strays, My OL, God lover, cant say no, when we die I will be cleaning the pound She is running in Heaven. I grew up on a farm, we had cows and pigs(I hate pigs, cows OK) when the next door dogs start running the cows and the pigs we went to the owners and talked to them. 2 or 3 times till the dogs killed a calf, talking stoped and the rifle came out, 4 dogs in one day. All from the same family, after the first dog was put down we went to the owners and told them what we did, they were upset, they would not want to pay for the calf. The next 3 dogs put down were put in the ground by me on the farm, we did not go next door to tell the owners. All that said, killing a dog is a very hard thing to do, even when you HAVE to. This Man did not HAVE to!!!
2. That is great you got it running as well as you did, congrats. On the tube spring, try pulling it out a bit, pull the far end, the end away from the bolt. Just use your fingers to pull the coils out a bit, add about 1 to 2 inches to it.
3. I have had Redwings. good boot, would wear the sole out before the uppers. I have had just about every brand there is. I have worn nothing but boots for near 30 years, even to go out on dates and now with my OL to go out to eat. For the past 5 or 6 years I buy boot a wally world, cheap, 30 to 40 bucks. They last 1.5 to 2 years, all I do is replace laces. I work in kitchens repairing cooking gear. the grease, oil and chemicals used to clean eat the boots up. The boots I buy last as I said, and then I replace them. I spend 100 dollars every 2.5 to 3 years. Buy the 100 dollar boots If you want, I dont.
4.
i will have them
Cool. I will see you there.
5.
According to Lyman Reloading Handbook 49th Edition, Rifle Data for 45 Colt his load is max and gave 1100 fps out of their 16" Winchester. Hornady shows the following for their 45, 250gr XTP at 1100 fps: 100 yard zero +2.5" @ 25 yds +3.8" @ 50 yds +3.0" @ 75 yds 0" @ 100yds 25 yard zero 0 @ 25 yds -1.2" @ 50 yds -4.4" @ 75 yds -10" @ 100 yds You might simply suggest he sight in his rifle at 100 yards, looks like his load would rise no more than 4 inches above line of sight. I hope he has a successful hunt with his Henry!
+1 on the 100 yrd range sight in!
6. I have been doing some reading on castboolits and that is the way to help stablize the brass. Heat to 350 and let it air cool, do it 3 times, now go to 400 a few times. From what I have read the brass need to be hotter than iron or ALU to cast right. I will see come the weekend.
7. Hey David, Sam is getting me some 7mm rem mag brass and a few 7mm bullets, can ya bring them to the Hendersonville show?
8.
Chill out...you are way overthinking this.
I just had to tell my Son the very samething with iron sights.
9. My Son showed me that today, I was scared just watching, them things are dangerous stock. Call me old, we had a Ford 8N, bushhoging down a hill forgot to take the PTO out and it pushed me into the creek, Dad was laughing so hard He forgot to be mad. (When you push in the clutch the PTO is powerd by the flywheel in the bushhog and that is greared to the rearend, BIG POWER pushing, no brake will hold it)
10.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeet! Gotta post some more pics after you get a pile cast.
Got to get it treated, 1st heat to 350 is done, cooling down now, have to do this 3 times, from what I have read. I will get to casting this weekend.
11. I got in on a group buy a few months ago for a mold you just cant buy anywhere. 190 grain as a flat nose, drop a small pin in and get 185 grain hollow point. Drop in a large pin and get a 180 grain hollow point BOOLIT. So you want to see some pics? Well OK The pins are in the front of the mold, flat nose, small hollow and large hollow. Blocks are made of brass, Mold Maker is from across the BIG POND in Solvenia. 12. Hook um up the way the KGB does, you aint getting out of them. What is The way the KGB does it, One arm over your sholder, the other up your back from the hip. Hands meet inbetween you sholder blades, YOU WONT GET OUT.
13. Now if that did trun out nice, get running, do a PIF for a kid to get into shooting.
14. I aint gona tell I have one, or gona tell I have used it. O wait, I just did tell on myself. Ya know stuff happens.
15. Send them to me for testing, be sure to send LOTS of ammo!!! O and send the money for return shipping! PM me for my address to ship to. My OL has a1985 10/22, I dont know if I like the long barrels, from what I have read, a 22LR uses up the powder in the first 14 to 16", and after that the barrel just slows the bullet down. Can you shoot them through a crony and let us know the FPS for the long and short barrel?
16. My vote did count, just not enough, Everyone is welcome, was proud to serve. Thanks to all my fellow VETS!!!
17. As a Navy Vet, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAR HEADS!!!
18.
I got the impression he was looking for an economical shotty. In that case there are plenty of great 12 and 20 GA shotguns out there for around $200. Don't know what Saigas are going for now, but I know they aren't too cheap.
There is one for sale here, 650, not a bad price.
19. Get a LEO involved, no need to take someone to jail, but as others have said, these things can get out of hand sometimes.
20. I still say the Saiga 12, I do have 2 REM 870s, 2 WIN 1200, and 1 MOSSY 500. None of them will out shoot my Saiga 12. The Saiga is my Best and the one I go to!!!
21. I picked this up from a member here a few months back. Gave it to my OL for rabbits in the garden. This past week I bought a barrel that was cut and has a flash hider pined and welded on to get it back to 16", did a PIF on another forum for a cheap scope.
