  1. I will agree about shooting into the berm, he was shooting in the hard pack ground of the west. Ground there is hard as rock, easy to get a round to skip. Not so in the grass and soft dirt we have here. Now I have had some skip if shooting at a shallow angle. I chased a scope hitting the target all over the place, till I walked up to the target and saw the grass and dirt cut by the skips. All said just be careful and aim well.
  2. It was a cat, take care it home safe and feed the poor thing!!!
  3. Sounds good depending on the range as in drive time.
  4. WW1 mobile cannon
  5. You never pay for what is done, you pay for the years of experience, school and the machine the work is done on. If you can do the job your self why pay someone else?
  6. SG ammo or I have been reloading for a good bit, have not needed to "buy" bulk since obumer was elected.
  7. Happy Dads day back at yall!!!
  8. You can keep the rifle upright and still sight in the 45 offset. Just look through the 45 sights. Yes you can bore sight any sight at any angle. As far as how much to turn, no idea as sights are diff from one to another. Try this, point your rifle at a mirror(unloaded ans safe) look through the sights at the mirror, adjust the sights so you are "sighted in" on the bore.
  9. I read that story as well, my first thought was "dumb a$$". Pass a tax and not get enough money, go figure.
  10. Thanks, bit much money for me and my little back yard range.
  11. That part in a modern window is way smaller, like 1/4 inch or so.
  12. You give me way to much credit. If you can do with what you have on hand why spend money.
  13. No, it is a real word. https://www.google.com/search?q=Sharoening&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=Sharoening&nfpr=1 Being used to describe sharping of an edge.
  14. Here is a start to help, let Dolo chime in. Try to get ahold of David as well.
  15. So being the self sufficient (cheap) SOB I am, I have an older Ruger carbine rifle I picked up. I cast and reload for my Ruger SBH, however I load it on the lite side. The lite loads wont cycle the action and I have read that unjacked lead will foul the gas action on the rifle. So I swagged me some jacked bullets. Took some 40 S&W brass, annealed it so it is soft, stuffed in a 180 gr lead I cast for my pistols, mashed it into a 280 sizing die, put on a cannelure, and loaded up some hot rounds. They cycle the rifle great, no sign of over pressure and hit where I aim. Shot a few from my pistol at night, nice fire ball. LOL The bullets came out at 255 gr and just over .430, I did run them through a .430 size die.
  16. Well I will say I had to look up that word (Sharoening) I was thinking you had a brain fart for sure. LOL Learn me something today, thanks much. I have a "Old Hickory" set of kitchen knifes I use, picked them up 30 years ago at a yard sale.
  17. No way the "leaders" will let the people have firearms in mass, "leaders" would loose power.
  18. So I read the title and was thinking this https://www.google.com/search?q=baby+llama&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwivhozNyK_UAhWCGj4KHXGsCvcQ_AUICigB&biw=1252&bih=576&dpr=1.09
  19. Glad you are OK and not under that thing! Get you some blocks to raise up the stand. Remember where Service Merchandise main office was in Brentwood? Well there are parking lot light poles there under the TVA lines and if the ground went bad the induced voltage would get you every time.
  20. Movie magic!!!
  21. No need to wonder why you wont see me on one of them islands? Wont be getting my tourist dollars to do the dirty deed.
  22. Some of the old Ballards are rim fire, hard to reload. is yours CF or RF?
  23. I am sure there are some that still need 22 ammo, thanks much. However there are some like me that would not darken the ammo area at wally world if it was the last place to buy 22. WW left a bad taste after the last ammo scare!
