  1. There have been several estate auctions in the Nashville area in the last year. Be careful what you ask for, when a large collector has an auction, the biggest problem is having enough $$ to win a few bids. If you go to an auction, make sure you go to the preview, to examine the guns. I looked at a couple guns in a Carthage sale, at 25 feet they looked fine, up close they were worn-out.
  2. My neighbor's 78 year old Mother got a speeding ticket for 2 miles over the 30 mph limit, in Belle Meade. That's law enforcement ,out of control.
  3. In Nashville, we have had an influx of people moving to the area from California, the Northeast etc. Over time, our reasonable Tennessee laws could change if we keep electing people like Bredesen and Karl Dean.
  4. If you can wait till after Christmas, the Walmarts/Sam's Clubs that stock safes for Christmas, slash prices after the end of the year.
  5. Get a pushbutton lock, you will appreciate this feature.
  6. Thanks for the all information. By the way, I know a fellow that was caught speeding in Belle Meade and the officer said that he could have ticketed the driver, for not mentioning that he had a HCP. However, that is Belle Meade, a land were speeding tickets are written for 1 MPH over speed limit!
  7. I usually keep my firearm in the glove compartment. I do not remember that the TN HCP specifies were the firearm can be located in the car. My concern has been that, say I get stopped in Arkansas and Arkansas law specifies were the firearm can and cannot be located. I guess the best course of action is to declare the firearm and HCP. Also, do not travel to the Peoples Republics of CA,Mass,Ill etc.
  8. The NRA/ILA website lists states, which recognize each others HCP. Does anyone have information or experience, having to show your HCP to law enforcement in states other than TN; say in instances of a traffic stop? I assume that the procedure would be the same ?
  9. I traveled United last year, out West. Colorado, Montana. No problems.Billings , Montana "did not blink an eye". Several people had guns more impressive than my Ruger Alaskan 454,backpack gun.Once I checked the gun, they allowed me to place the gun case in my big, checked baggage, so it didn't "stick-out". Keep in mind that you are dealing a variety of people and variety of intelligence levels.
  10. I can see it now: The Rabbi in his ride, tec under the front seat, Ole English in the console, music up loud. You'd be ridin dirtyyy down East Trinity!
  11. If you had an Uzi, with a stender. You'd be twice as bad! Think about it.
  12. How 'bout a Smith and Western 340PD. It's lightweight and can be used effectively against 2 and 4-legged feral animals.
