  1. ...raghead shooting other ragheads, this is a problem, how?...
  2. What?  I thought we were all supposed to be for "state's rights"... now,  I'm so confused...
  3. Seller should have disclosed the info prior to making the sale.  I would have done the same as you, except I always ask about the title status as a matter of fact when inquiring about any used vehicle.  A salvage title doesn't automatically become a "deal-breaker" for me, but it's info you need to have as it has a major effect on valuation.
  4. N/M, double post.
  5. ... good to know there's another Tim Wilson fan here...
  6. ... what was your first clue?
  7. ... try downtown on any Saturday night.  Usually lots of folks out shooting...
  8. You got me with "worst reality show ever"... I have yet to see one that in any way mimics anything like reality, my first thought was "how would you choose just one?...
  9. Adjustment is really very easy.  Swap out the bolt.   ... and while that might seem a poor attempt at sarcasm, it really is the only feasible way to "adjust" headspace on a Mosin.  There is so much tolerance and variance built into the bolt heads on these rifles, as well as equal variations in chambering, that swapping out bolts and/or bolt heads is the way that even the Russian armorers fixed this issue.  I'm assuming of course that yours has failed both the "go" and "field" gauges, if it passes a field gauge it's good to go with surplus, and many claim that even handloads are OK as well.  YMMV, as always.
  10.     ... just for curiosity's sake, how did this vote happen if Boehner wouldn't allow it on the floor...
  11. Most Vietnam era bringbacks were captured cache weapons and will show much use and rust.  The only sure way to authenticate is with papers to certify the provenance.  Mosin variants were used throughout the Vietnam conflict, including many T-53's, however many of these same rifles have been imported to the US over the years.  A lack of import marks, along with the right "look" will usually ignite some discussion, but as to your original question, no, there are no Mosin origination or authentication sources to be found.  In the Mosin world, you learn very quickly to "never say never" ...
  12. I think you meant DDR marked rifles instead of Russians, all 91/30's currently available are coming from former Soviet republics and thus are all "Russian" rifles.  The $139 variants were made at the Tula arsenal, and usually sell out fairly quickly, mainly due to internet myths about their rarity...
  13. ... when I saw this topic, my first thought was "uh-oh, what's ole Leonard up to now?"...
  14. For the record, I hold a current bus driver license, and attend in-service yearly.  No such state regulation exists, local policies may vary of course.
  15.   ... probably took him home and breast-fed him afterwards...
  16. ... and has his priorities straight too...
  17. This reply got me thinking:   "Is the Mosin Nagant a nice first gun? I’m thinking about getting myself a gun during the summer, I haven’t decided or figured out what gun would be a good first gun."   ..."it was fine for 30 million Russian conscripts" would have been a great response...
  18.   My bad.  I forgot that math is elitist... :surrender:
  19. Can't you just imagine watching Ted at the Republican National Convention, performing "Wang, Dang, Sweet Poontang", live....     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnMaSLCDxQc
  20.   ... what's even more amazing is that according to the most up-to-date data, only 114 million citizens of voting age didn't submit a ballot.  This means ALL of the non-voting electorate were conservatives!  Not sure about the 17 million missing conservatives though...
  21. This guy has been announcing that these would be available "in a few weeks" for about 4 years now.  Looking at his newest version on the vid, I'm very doubtful that it's "ready for prime time" yet...
  22. The only current source I know of for buying crates of Mosins is Classic Firearms in NC.  They are getting $2600 as of now, figure $150 minimum to ship and you are looking at $137.50 per rifle.  If you don't have a C&R there will be transfer and background fees as well from your transferring dealer, assuming you can find one who would bother (for a reasonable sum) to do the paperwork for 20 rifles going to different buyers.  Most of the internet retailers (Classic, AIM, J&G, etc.) are offering single rifles for $125-175 depending on the type and variant.  In addition, the big box stores are also running sales on these again, so the price differential is somewhat negligible between a single purchase and multiple sales.  Why go through the hassle of a group buy?  Also, most people with C&R licenses would be very hesitant to participate in such a buy, as it's very possible to run afoul of ATF regs if not done right.  If you are looking for a buy from an individual, Armslist is probably your best bet, as they come up frequently there, usually nearby, and the prices asked have fallen dramatically in recent months as folks have begun to realize that the sky hasn't quite fallen yet.  I can't see any good reason to get involved in a group buy for Mosins, but I can think of many why it's a bad idea.
