  1. Try just pouring the powder in, then run several cases through without worrying what weights are thrown.  After emptying the powder from these cases back into the measure, run 10 cases through checking the thrown weight each time.  Normally, the "jolt" of running the powder measure is enough to "work" the correct amount of powder under the baffle.  I'm assuming you thoroughly cleaned the various parts of the powder measure prior to using it?
  2. All he needs is one of those rifles that Rambo carries, they never run out of ammunition ...
  3. Got to stock up on bread and milk for all those occasions when we are snowed in for an entire month ...
  4. My method, place an empty case in the shellholder, raise the ram all the way.  Screw the die in until it just touches the case.  Back out the seating adjuster, place a bullet in the case and adjust seating insert to your satisfaction.  Then screw the die in approximately 1/2 turn, more for a tighter crimp, not as much for less crimp.  I only take the flare out on 9mm ...

  6.   Where's ole Leonard when you need him ...
  7. Nope, the new law requires a different certification, I hear many Docs who formerly did DOT medicals have dropped out due to the new hoops to jump through to get and retain certification under the current requirements.  Just had my medical re-up done in early January - word of caution, I had mine done about 3 weeks early due to an upcoming surgery, now the next renewal is also due 3 weeks earlier than the normal date, as the exam is only good for 1 calendar year from the previous renewal ...
  8. I recently had major surgery and had many of the symptoms you describe for the first couple of weeks,  Over the last 3 weeks those symptoms are gradually disappearing, mainly now my sleep rhythms are still all out of whack.  As others said, surgery can be extremely disruptive to your entire system, especially if you have other health issues to begin with.  The "seasoning" that comes with living a while seems to exacerbate that process as well ...
  9.   Depends on what you mean by "many", after all the term "public dole" dates from ancient Rome, where a large majority of it's citizens received handouts daily ...
  10.   The double-flash phenomenon has always been the "signature" of even single-stage detonations, such as the first explosion at the Trinity test site in 1945.  Multiple stage weapons produce essentially the same flash characteristics, as the time differential between staged reactions is measured in nanoseconds.  As an aside, a "shake" in physics was delineated by the physicists of the Manhattan project as 10 nanoseconds to provide a convenient measure of timing specific events in the chain reaction, it comes from the old expression "two shakes of a lamb's tail" ...
  11. Good stuff. I often make it in a slow cooker, many quarts at a time.
  12.   Sounds like good planning to me ...
  13. Opened this thread expecting to see something like this:
  14. I've set them up both ways, can't seem to tell much difference.  Then again, I don't really crimp 9mm, I set the dies to just barely remove the flare after seating the bullet.
  15.   I go one step farther, even if I recognize the number I often don't answer.  It's an anti-social trait I guess ...
  16. Very nice work.  I don't have any experience with pricing things like this, but I do like the chair.
  17.   What was your first clue?
  18. Back in stock, 161 left as of now ... http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F3Nagant&name=Russian+M1895+7.62x38R+Nagant+Revolver&groupid=254
  19. Probably about as reliable as what you read on the internet ...
  20.   I think you have him pegged ...
  21. "45 is way better than 9mm" ...
  22.   I'm sure she was suitably impressed ...
  23. Time for a trip to a range that has a good "rent to try" program, with a good selection of handguns to choose from.
  24. FYI, Aim has GP-11 in stock for as low as $5.10/10 rounds ...
