  1. It's definitely heading that way, however the consensus at most schools is that they have to issue some sort of device to each student to make it work. Eventually, it's going to be the norm for all schools ...
  2. Very few schools keep 100 year old books ...
  3. Need some more details. Is it a 91/30, M91, what? Year made, arsenal, import markings? What condition? Pictures would make an estimate more accurate ...
  4. 2.2 is too small to be felt, generally a quake needs to be at least 2.5+ to be felt by humans, and anything under 3 is difficult at best ...
  5. True, the top mount PE's were never issued in the numbers that the later scoped Mosin's were, and are very rare today ...
  6. Ad says $3400 after MIR. I bet shipping would be costly on this too ...
  7. SOG announced a month or so back that they were closing. They ran a firesale of sorts on whatever odds and ends that were in the warehouse for a few weeks, website went down a few days ago. Like other sellers of milsurps, as their supply of surplus dried up, sales tapered off to nothing. Many of these older milsurp dealers are closing, Samco a few years ago as an example. There will almost certainly be more, AIM has managed to transition their store into a seller of modern arms, Classic Firearms is slowly doing the same. The Milsurp market is now almost wholly from secondary sources, the age of massive imports of WWII and earlier firearms is over ...

    Earthquake

That's about right. I was a teenager at the time, hanging out in the kitchen talking to my mom, who was ironing in another room. When the windows and dishes started rattling, mom yelled for me to stop shaking the house ...

    Earthquake

It was actually a series of 4 main quakes, with hundreds of aftershocks. The "big 4" occurred between December 16, 1811 and February 7, 1812, with aftershocks large enough to be felt until 1817. Numerous events have occurred since, with a few in the @6 range on the Richter Scale. Since Memphis State installed monitoring equipment in 1974, over 4k quakes have been recorded. The New Madrid Fault Zone remains as one of the most active in North America, with potential for massive destruction. I live in the area, which gets quakes that can be felt every couple of years, about once per decade one causes some sort of damage, albeit not very widespread or serious ...
  10. In the past, ammo rebates I've filled out usually took from 6 weeks to 6 months to pay off. Eventually, all of them have paid up though ...
  11. This video is a perfect candidate for submission for a Darwin Award ...
  12. Lol, that would qualify as a major upgrade in speed for me ...
  13. You can get sports packages through Sling TV for an extra $5 per month. One of the things I like best about streaming TV is the no-contract thing. For example, when Game of Thrones runs, I sign on for a couple of months to HBO Go, when that's over I cancel. During times of the year when I'm busy, I can cut back, at other times I can add what I want. I spend much less, and actually use what I pay for now. I've been off Dish for several years now, as for cable, it's not a thing out here in the boonies anyway ...
  14. Will the next season have a resurrection, ala Glen?
  15. I've killed 3 deer. I've never been deer hunting ...
  16. There was a 30 rimfire that dates to the 1860's, I don't know much about it. The Brits introduced the .303 in the 1880's, the first several years it was a black powder cartridge, before morphing into a smokeless round ...
  17. I wouldn't set foot in a retail store this weekend if they paid me. You can find deals on whatever you want throughout the year on the internet, no need to worry about whatever sales are going on now. Plus, in stores, you have to be near actual people, which chaps the hell out of the anti-social side of me ...
  18. Orwell was an avowed Communist when he was young, as he became disillusioned with the Sovet experiment he moved first towards socialism, then even later become rabidly anti-communist and anti-socialistic. He died a bitter, disappointed man with a bleak outlook on the future ...
  19. Just out of curiosity, i looked on Gunbroker the other day when this ad was originally posted. Most is advertised from $1-2 per round, and checking completed sales shows it almost always sells in that range. Pricey for sure ...
  20. Well damn. I guess I wasn't paying attention at that point, I vaguely remember the scene but thought it was a flashback to the earlier time before her first son died ...
  21. The Michonne - Rick baby ( who is actually a Lori? - Shawn baby ) is a she, not a he, named Judith, who is now the 10? year old mini-me Annie Oakley of the show ...
  22. Latest episode has The Hilltop with no Maggie. No story, very little info regarding her departure, other than "she's with Georgie" ( I had to look up who Georgie was/is, her appearance was so brief that it completely escaped me ). I suppose that in terms of character development and backstory, leaving the show at the same time as Andrew Lincoln was a really bad idea ...
