Welcome. There seemingly aren't all that many of us here from the good end of the state ... Why would you drive to Paducah to get to Union City from there? Hit I-40, get off either at exit 108, Parker's Crossroads and head north on 22, or take the Hwy 45 exit in Jackson to 45W straight into UC ...

There's a guy on ebay who sells one that's supposed to be good for up to 44 magnum, as long as you don't fire steel core ammo into it. Bullet trap

The first 5 rifles aren't 91/30's either, but rather SVT's. However, the Russian PU scope, which was originally mounted on SVT's, has a normal eye relief of about 3". A lot of folks define a standard eye relief as 1.5", making the PU a "longer" eye relief than standard ...

Anybody know anything about Swiss 22lr Conversions?
No_0ne replied to MrBrian's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Swiss rifles were certainly well-made, and generally the individuals who were issued these guns maintained them well. However one factor to remember, none of them were ever used in combat, thus the percentage of "nice" rifles is correspondingly higher among Swiss rifles than those of other nations from the same era who were busily involved using their issued rifles to attempt to wipe out their neighbors ... -

http://www.highwoodclassicarms.co.uk/Firerms For Sale/0200.htm https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/theswissriflesdotcommessageboard/intereting-22lr-k-31-trainer-on-gunbroker-t6615.html https://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?147022-K31-22lr Plus in the FAQ section of swissrifles.com there's a mention of a couple of companies that did caliber conversions to older Swiss rifles. From what I can find in a cursory search, all of these rifles were made for either sporting use or for target competitions, the Swiss apparently never used a .22 trainer. Despite that, these rifles are commonly called "trainers" in various places around the net ... -

Southwestern Shooters Supply was one of Interarms main retail distributors during the late 50's through the 60's and the GCA. Sam Cummings started providing a lot of his WWII surplus to them during the 50's, and continued to use them as his primary west coast distributor for many years. IIRC, Interarms eventually bought their operation out, effectively converting Southwestern into one of its own retail outlets ...

You might try getting in touch with UT's civil engineering department. Yeah, I know school's out so it may be difficult, but these folks train surveyors and must have a good idea of how to get in touch with somebody who might be able to help you.

Yep. However, Craigslist is pretty much self-policed. If you avoid certain key words, the ad will stay up until somebody flags it. If you look around long enough, you'll find ammo, guns, lots of things advertised on that site that are against the rules ...

If you're looking for additional options, check out LTE fix.com, they have a forum (under the "tutorials" heading) and have a lot of info about setting up and using various types of cellular routers, etc.

There are many reasons why this ammo has gone up in price over the last 6-7 years. The war in Ukraine drastically interrupted most of the supply, as it was one of the few countries with sizeable remaining stocks that was also friendly enough to American importers to deal with. The other big factor is the wars in the Middle East. The various groups there are, and have been buying up massive quantities of ammo and exporters throughout Europe figured out that these warring factions would pay more for Russian/Ukrainian ammo than buyers in the US would. Finally the more recent bans on importation of Russian products have reduced the availability of ammo supplies in many countries throughout the former Soviet bloc ...

So after boiling the (toxic) plant, perhaps multiple times, you douse it in bacon and eggs to make it palatable. Makes sense ...
