I've made several good purchases on GB over the years, mostly milsurps and several of them "mis-labelled" as something else (usually something much more common than what the gun actually turned out to be). I don't spend much time there anymore, and from what I understand from other sites prices are through the roof on most of the old milsurps I'm primarily interested in. I have bought a few modern guns there as well, but being the cheap bastard that I am I typically have to bid on a bunch of different examples to get one of what I want. Most get outbid in the last few minutes, but I'm good with that, after all being a cheap bastard means I'm also patient ...

No idea about the fate of the podcast, but I vote for the "one hit wonder pop band fan boy" choice - mostly because I like the sound of that ...

Looks like 22 LR ammo is slowly coming back

Well, obviously you need to pile it higher and deeper, next time ... -
Looks like 22 LR ammo is slowly coming back

Better than what shows up so far on Ammoseek and the like. The cheap stuff starts out at around 9 cents, plus shipping, and goes up from there. Availability is better, however prices are still elevated. It took about 12-18 months last time after 22LR and other common calibers started showing up again regularly for prices to fall back significantly, I figure it will be at least that long this time around. Good thing I subscribe to the old "buy it cheap and stack it deep" philosophy ... -
You left off " a few dozen of the rest" ...

Find a Ruger Security Six. They're indestructible, so virtually any year and any round count will do. The factory triggers will never be all that great, but some basic gunsmithing can improve them a lot, or so I'm told. Mine are all factory stock ...

Interesting observations, and many good points made Chip. For those of you who don't know, Chip is a real, live, blood-sucking vam- errr. lawyer ...

Without having watched any of the coverage, or being privy to his lawyer's strategy or thoughts, my inclination is that I wouldn't have put the kid on the stand. He's always struck me as being a bit "off", doesn't come across as overly intelligent or able to think on his feet very fast, so there's no way I would have allowed him to testify, especially in what's likely to be the first of several trials (if he's not initially acquitted). It would be interesting to hear his lawyer's reasoning for this ...

Yes, last night was the first round. First round usually weeds out most of the teams who aren't very good, this week will get the rest. The following week is the quarterfinals, the round where everybody left is typically a very good team, with at least an outside chance to win their division ...

The LCP Max has both 10 and 12 round mags available. I think the original LCP was a 6 +1 setup. Yes, Ruger makes an LC9 as well.

Supreme Court arguments for NY Concealed Carry
No_0ne replied to Moped's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
My bet is that the court ultimately strikes down at least part of the New York law, perhaps insisting that NY become a "shall" rather than a "may" issue state. It would surprise me if the SCOTUS rules against permit laws entirely, or extends their ruling beyond the case at hand. The SCOTUS has been very reticent in the past about issuing sweeping judgements in cases of this type, I don't think that changes with this one ... -
Yes, I'm very aware that many (most?) people really like their AR's. I tend to be much more of a collector than actual shooter, thus I like really old guns with some historicity about them, preferably made from wood and steel. Revolvers, along with old bolt action, black powder and single shot rifles are more up my alley than AR's and the current crop of plastic fantastic pistols. Each to his own ...

In terms of the likelihood of it ever being shot, probably my 1889 Berdan II single shot rifle. The (single) action screw is broken, and thus far I've been unable to find a replacement anywhere on the planet, plus the ammo (components) are fairly rare, often out of stock, and expensive. In terms of how I feel about it, the most useless is undoubtedly my AR15. A few years ago I built one, just because, shot it a couple times and put it away. Not a big fan of this platform, I wound up with quite a few parts in anticipation of building others, after the first I just lost interest ...

Baldwin shoots two on movie set, accidental misfire???
No_0ne replied to TennesseeCamper's topic in General Chat
I doubt that, in the end, anyone does time over this. At worst, I would bet that anyone convicted in any criminal trial receives probation, or some sort of community service. The subsequent civil trials will be another matter ... -
If this really mattered, i wouldn't have made any purchases since the 90's ...

Very true. Reminds me of when Ruger introduced their SR1911, I wanted one but wouldn't pay the asking prices. After waiting for a few years, I came across a used one on GB, essentially a NIB gun, for $500. Not sure if I'm patient, or just cheap though ...

And we thank you for that ...

Could be many factors. As you suggested, multiple rushers on other teams sharing the carries, including QB's, or maybe the Colts other rushers, particularly the QB(s), have negative yardage, thus affecting team totals ...

I can sympathize with them though. Although I know what Hi-Powers are, most of the time I'm totally lost when folks on here are discussing the latest whiz-bang, plastic fantastic Glock 62-whatever they're drooling over ...
