  1. I don't know about "problems" but knowledge of the combination to the gun safe sould be considered possession of the NFA item, and under the NFA, possession by an unauthorized person is the crime.  Another reason to have your NFA items in the name of a trust.
  2. Their inventory, along with a bunch of other places is still updated on gunbot.net   I've been able to find .223, .22, and 9mm from various places at mostly reasonable prices over the last couple of months.
  3. Looks like fun.  Do you have a link to directions to the range?
  4. I knew there was another guy closer to Memphis, I just couldn't remember his name.  No offense taken, Chip has been doing this type of trust longer than I have, so I'm sure he has more experience than I do at this point.  I sent an email to the mods about becoming a benefactor, but haven't heard anything back.
  5. I know Chip Cain here on the forum does trusts as do I for much cheaper than that.  There is no requirement for a trust to be registered with the state or to pay any yearly fees.  It's a one time fee to the attorney.  If you'd like to call me with questions, I'd be happy to talk to you about the trusts.   John M. Wells 615-370-5170
  6. Circumvent the problem all together.  Come see me for a trust.
  7. I registered last night. It's been a while since I've shot, but I'm excited. Hopefully my gear is up to par with the rule revisions since I last competed.
  8. There are provisions that specifically prohibit keeping records or databases based on the ownership of firearms or ammunition.
  9. That's what I do for a living. I'm happy to talk to you about your home purchase. I work for Southland Title in Brentwood. The phone number is 370-5170.
  10. Lots of things to criticize on safe handling of firearms in this story. As news, how does ..."Torres' family was living in the U.S. illegally" have anything to do with the fact that a teen was drunk and shooting a handgun? Fox news...
  11. Good to hear, I just sent my renewal in last week.
  12. Agreed. Better quality radio with the steering wheel controls.
  13. After reading the opinion of the Judge, it looks to me like this is merely a formality that the Mosque will adress at a public meeting. The notice requirements for the meeting shouldn't prevent further approval or construction of the building as Mr. Corlew pointed out in his opinion. The mosque is a religious building and as such is afforded protection under both national and state constitutions.
  14. Where is this range in 100 oaks going to be? That would be super convient to me.
  15. I second what Mr. Stegall commented on above. Just for clarification, your post says when your lease is up in March. Is that 2013? If so you may time to get your form 4 back before you move. If that's the case then I'd say go ahead and set up your trust and make your purchse. If that is a typo, then I might just wait until you have an address here in Tennessee to use.
  16. I use an app called "MyStuff2" I don't think it was a free app, but I think it has the features you are looking for.
  17. From everything I've seen, the BATF folks will approve the transfer with a self-prepared trust, however, I wouldn't reccomend going that route even though it's cheaper. I am an attorney, so take it with a grain of salt. I'm not fishing for business here, but you need to understand that there are some concerns with using a trust that was not prepared specifically to deal with firearms. Better to have the trust prepared correctly for what you will use it for on the front end.
  18. I'm John and I work as an attorney in Nashville (I prepare NFA Trusts if anyone is interested). Glad to have found the group here. I shoot USPSA occasionally and am looking to get into IDPA and hopefully 3 gun soon. John
