  2. http://www.paragoulddailypress.com/articles/2012/12/15/top_story/doc50cbbb312e241511092932.txt Can anyone verify this? Everything I can find indicates truth in the statments....
  3. So if I want to order a firearm from somewhere like gunbroker, what are the steps, step by step? Contact seller, contact my FFL, have them fax copy, then have rifle shipped? Anything I'm missing, or that I should know and look out for?
  4. Trash will be trash. White or black, doesnt matter
  5.   300 yds open lane if we shoot all the across the field. This is a rough esitmate, I havent ever ranged it. I may be able to get us into my uncles fields which will increase the range exponentially
  6.   Its a throw back to the old days, mountain men used to wear them. They are just a simple, long wool coat, that is extremely warm and comfy.
  7. So a few weeks ago I got a gift from a friend. It is a custom made wool blanket capote for all things outdoors and bushcraft. Initial impressions were it is heavy, warm, very well fitted, and construction is top notch. It weighs around 8 lbs dry, but the weight is well worth the trade off in warmth and comfort. It has a large hood that is made to fit well with or without a hat on, which is a plus as I always wear a hat. It is made from two surplus wool blankets, 3/8" thick, and well stitched with a heavy duty machine. The other night when it was icing, and well below freezing I needed to do some outside chores in the field with the cattle. It was super cold, sleeting, snowing, and icing, with a heavy wind blowing. The jeans below the ankle were wet, but everything covered with the capote was dry. It stopped the wind very well, and was very comfy to work and move in. It is tied with a wide wool belt, and could easily be modified to use buttons if so desired. I prefer the tie as it lets me instantly adjust the tightness of it. It is a very large, heavy, warm coat, and one of my favorite things is it easily doubles for a sleeping bag liner instead of carrying an extra blanket. Here are some inside pictures of it, I will try to update this review from time to time as I use it more and more. This is Unclejak wearing it And heres me in it Hood down Hood up
  8.   I have read that Ruger included normal style rings along with it being setup for scout style scope. I'd like to have both options, something in a 2.5-4x scout, and something bigger and stronger for longer range. Though a 2.5 power scope wouldn't bother me out to 500 yds, just from being used to shooting 500 yds with irons with the M16.
  9. I have several from different high ranking officers in the Marines, and one from the Captain of LHD-4 the USS Boxer from my last MEU. They are cool, but I almost never carry mine A. Because I dont wanna lose them. And B. Because the only people who normally carry them and challenge people are boots or old school vets. YMMV just what I noticed in my time in.
  10. There are bump fire AR stocks, but its still one bullet per trigger pull, and they aren't anything but a range toy as far as most people are concerned
  11. Rumors say they might have .223 version this year. There are alot of options for replacing the muzzle brake.
  12. No probably not. Good to hear he likes it though, only thing Ive found that might be a negative so far is they werent made for stripper clip reload from the top. Not a big thing for.me but some.people seem to have issues with it.
  13. When are people going to learn that police response time is measured in minutes and will only get longer as layoffs and budget cuts happen. People need to be prepared to defend themselves.and protect their families. I sent him and email telling him I backed him 100%
  14. I have taken a large interest in these rifles. I can find them for $700-$1000 on gunbroker used, but I was wondering if anyone has seen one local that I could go fondle and see if it fits me and feels right. I'd be interested in going to any shop within 3-4 hours of Knoxville to get hands on one and get a feel for it, and possibly purchase. Im hoping this isn't one of those guns that is being panic bought as bad as others. Also if you own one and were willing to give me a few minutes to see it I'd be grateful and would buy you a beer or lunch afterwards. Thanks guys
  15. I've seen some female Marines that could outshoot a lot of males with an M16.....
  16.   They had that .22 two weeks ago. It was stupid expensive. But it does do me good to see ammo on the shelf for more than a few minutes, even if it is stupid expensive.
  17. I think this will work just fine. I'll be sending out pm's and posting here for members who would like to come. Remeber small friendly get together, not meeting to overthrow the goverment that wont be welcome here
  18. Ruger Gunsite Scout. 16.5 or 18" barrel, 10 rd removable mag, awesome little guns. If I had the cash I'd buy one tonight. I see them used on gunbroker from time to time in your price range. http://www.ruger.com/products/gunsiteScoutRifle/models.html
  19.   I'll buy my far share, thats just how I am. I'll be buying tannerite, and clay targets, and of course ammo. And maybe some steel targets   Spots: Exploding targets, clays, drinks, maybe steel targets Mike.357: Clay thrower Lumberjack:Exploding targets Jaxjohn419: drinks gjohnsoniv: Exploding targets, clays, and paper targets Garufa: Exploding targets Gleen: Clay thrower and paper targets Timcar86: Steel targets     Looks like we have quiet a bit of stuff to shoot. I'm gonna see about getting a dueling tree before then also for pistols.
  20. Ill add street address later
  21. Whoever is the best cook (I can do it), and yes the .50 is allowed
  22. I think of what they're looking for are trades people. Construction workers, blacksmiths, gunsmiths, that type of thing. Jobs that would thrive in a self sufficient community
  23. Maybe we should pack everyones stash into one big target and draw straws to see who shoots it lmao
  24.   By all means, please bring them along. You remember where my dads place is I assume? And I'm not saying everyone has to bring something, I just put up the list so I knew what I would need to buy before the shoot
