This will be the next thing I do if i can't get it right this weekend

We pulled it the way down a couple nights ago, thats how we found out the bolt hold open spring was installed incorrectly. I'm going to try tweaking the spring as Ive seen suggested several other places and now here.

The normal kits come with a shepherds hook. This person used circlips. A retaining plate is also an option. Im gonna switch to a hook or a plate, these circlips are a pain, though I was told that they are ok to use. Just a pain in the butt to install

I traded for a converted Saiga and it is having problems. The hammer spring keeps slipping off the trigger and its not letting the trigger reset like it should. I had a friend who has converted some over take a look at it. It has a tapco G2 trigger, stock hammer setup. Im not sure why they used a stock hammer on a tapco trigger when the tapco hammer is included? Maybe somebody can explain it to me? There are a couple other things that make me question the guy who converted it. The stock wasn't clearnced to clear a screw, which would have taken 5 seconds with a file. Also the bolt hold open spring wasn't installed correctly. We tore it down, set the bolt hold.open spring in right, and after 5 mags of shells it did the same thing again. Any ideas?? Heres a pic of it slipped off

Every mag I own is loaded. Purpose it two fold. One an unloaded mag is useless. Two its easier to store ammo.loaded in mags than it is to take up room with mags and boxed ammo.

Thinking about Starting up my own Members Only Shooting Range
Spots replied to PackinMama's topic in General Chat
You may not get many members at $200 a year. I may be wrong, but like I said earlier, ORSA is $120 a year for 850 acres, 7 ranges, and all kinds of shooting from 1k yard high power, to archery, to plinking, to pistol, etc etc. If this is something you want to do, and aren't worried about becoming a millionaire, I'd look at about $50 a year. Remember if you charge, you have to set dates you'll be open, and stick to them. If I paid $50 a year to shoot, and you weren't open on Saturdays when I made that drive, I would be very upset. -
Thinking about Starting up my own Members Only Shooting Range

I only really have one thing I can comment on. ORSA is $120 a year, if I remember right. They have several different ranges, including a 1k yard range. Most little outdoor ranges are cheap, that is their draw. I can;t imagine paying more than $30-$40 a year to shoot out to 200 yds, but I'm in the same situation where I have a lot of my own land to shoot on, so take that with a grain of salt -
No your correct. And if your reffering to my ad, after some thought and research I posted a price, I had added the make me an offer because I honestly didn't know what to charge at the time. I still don't see a point in requrring a price. Like I said if its something you want, why not make an offer? If you require a price it'll only make people do what they do on craigslist, post it stupidly high to deal with low ballers.
-
I honestly don't see the issue. If it says make me an offer, then send a cash offer if you want it, ignore it if you dont. I just traded a Ruger mini for a Sagia 12 and didnt post a cash price because I didn't want To sell it. I did put up that if someone wanted to make an offer, feel free. This is a bad market to buy and sell in, as a fair price can be hard to decide on, but trades between fair knowledgeable people are still a fair way to do business. I guess I just don't see a point in requring a price, especially if its a trade item.

They are starting to lose me this season. They need to pull Rick back from the crazy edge a little bit. And the fact that they couldn't hit anyone of the governors guys, even with optics on AR's from a fairly close distance, but they can pop zeds in the head at will kills me

Good to see them all joining in. To bad everyone is about 85 years late or so. Consdering the NFA limits ownership of several kinds of firearms, but sti allows police deparments to purchase and use them....

Joe Biden's point-blank advice: Buy a Shotgun
Spots replied to TSprint1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Uncle Joe said to buy a shotgun, so I got one last night. A converted Saiga with 2 10 rd mags, and a 20 rd drum. Thats what he meant right?? -
I wouldn't buy from Cheaper than dirt if they were the last gun store on earth. They have done nothing but price gouge like crazy, hurting their customer base and helping to feed the panic. As far as the beta mag? To me its just a useless range toy. They are intresting, and fun at the range, but they have no practical purpose, sporting or self defense. They are large, bulky, and heavy, and add a lot of weight and bulk to the gun. But if you really want one, I say go for it. Just find someone else to buy it from

I just got the firearms trade offer of a life time...
Spots replied to Spots's topic in General Chat
Especially since mine includes 2 factory 20 round mags, and 300 rds of 7.62, mostly Norinco steel core. If he wants to vakue a gun that sold for $1200-1400 at $2200 for trade thats fine. But I'm valui.g my the same way. And I was alwahs under the impression that if you were the one who sent the trade offer, the guy you sent the offer to usually negoiated the majority of the deal? I love dealing here on TGO, and most of the stuff Ive seen here has been fairly priced. -

I almost sent him an email pretending to have misread, telling him that of course Id take the sr 556 and 1200 for my mini. -
So I have my slightly modded, low round count (under 100) Ruger Mini 30 up on armslist right now for trade. I mentioned I might look at a decent quality AR in trade. My Ruger has some aftermarket stuff, not cheap junk, and runs like a champ. This is the offer I got in email today. If you are the one who emailed me, I'm sorry for putting you on blast, but this is about the sorriest offer I've ever seen. "I have a brand new, never fired sr 556 with 3 30 rounders, flip ups and a quad rail. 200 rounds of 223. Would like to trade for your setup and around 1200 in cash. You an shoot me a text anytime or call after 3 if your interested. My name is t*** my number is ***-***-**** thanks" So I texted him, just to see if that was a mistake. Nope, he thinks hes gonna value mine at pre-ban prices, with no additonal added for the brand new $250 stock, and the other stuff, and value his above MSRP. He finally told me he paid $1800 for it, and still wanted my Mini 30 and $1k after he told me that. It gave me a good chuckle anyways. I told him Good Luck. I feel sorry for any sucker who deals with that crack pot

I picked up a Gamo varmiter (I Think) the other day. Its a spring setup, 1000 fps with lead, 1200 fps with bpa. Works great for varmit control so far. Not something Id lug around bugging out, but good for bugging in

Knoxville/Oak Ridge area. Thats where I live and where I grew up, and I love it here. Knoxville will provide more jobs, while Oak Ridge is nicer to live in

So here is my question. I want to add a muzzle brake to my Mini 30. I was looking at having barrel cut at 16" and threaded, then screwing the brake on, but I seem to remeber that you can count the muzzle brake as barrel length, as long as its permanently attached. Am I remebering right? As in I could cut my barrel to 14", install a permanent 2" long brake and still meet the legal limit? Also what defines permanent? Does welding it count? Are any other methods considered permanent for this purpose? I would have a gunsmith do all the work, just want to check the legalitys before bothering a smith.

They've been showing and discussing that design for years. It was orginally developed for military apllications

Co-worker says it's illegal to have more than 10,000$ on your person?
Spots replied to timcar86's topic in General Chat
I don't think its illegal but you are supposed to have a document from the bank I think. I got one when I sold my truck. May have something to do with cali state law thojgh. Its not illegal, but it does require filing a form, and I was told to carry the form by the bank. http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/Small-Businesses-&-Self-Employed/FAQs-Regarding-Reporting-Cash-Payments-of-Over-$10,000-(Form-8300) -
They need to fire every police officer that responded and didn't put a stop to this mornoic behavior. There are good cops out there, but everyday I here more and more stories of power abuse and bad cops. Instead of paid leave investgations, they need to take a zero tolerance policy and start firing officers on the spot.

Both my nephew and my niece are being home schooled by my middle sister, their aunt. Their mom and their aunt are both teachers, my oldest sister still teaches, my middle one quit to home school the kids and spend time with her newborn. Now if the teachers in the school system think what They Are required to teach is bad enough that they home school their own kids, its gotten pretty bad. And yes they do teach things they don't agree with, because they have to pay bills like everyone else. I don't think a home schooled kid is really missing anything other than having evolution theory, socialism, and a bunch of other goverment mandated, brain washing crap fed to them every day. Granted they don't get the social situations, but if they attend church like my family does, or make regular trips to the park, friends houses, etc, they don't seem to miss out on much.
