  2. Ive been talking to Don several times a day since the accident. They probably won't ask for help, but I know money is tight right now and those medical bills are gonna make life hard. If you guys decide to do a donation I can deliver the funds. The best way to do it would be money orders written out to him I woukd think. I have plans to go see him soon and will be helping out around his place as much as he will let me Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

    Mosin/Archangel

Ive been drooling over them since the prototypes were announced. I plan to build a mosin with one of those stocks and a scope. My archangel on my Ruger Mini 30 was an excellent stock, tight and well fitted. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

    Webley Mark 6

A friend of mine has a Webley Mark 6 revolver passed down from his father. It is in good shape, no rust. Not a show piece, but a good shooter. Does anyone know a ballpark value on the gun? Sorry not a lot of info, but all I have to work with. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  5. Yeah but the closest thing to that I can find is the Springfield 1MA which is impossible to find right now. Does anyone have experince with them? And are M14's readily availably und3r normal condotions. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  6. I won't attempt to quote everyone while on my phone, but thank you to everyone for the opinons. I have decided to keep the AR. One because it will be easier to find a bolt gun like the scout cheaper in the future. Two because after 5 years using an M16a4 I am very familiar with the ergos of the AR, as well as how to keep it running in some nasty conditons. I do plan to get setup to reload and add a 300 blackout upper and supressor to my safe to make the gun more versatile, as well as a decent .22 upper to supplement my bolt action .22. Casper to answer your question on twist its a 1:7 twist rifle. What would you guys reccomend for a deer load? I plan to let nephew hunt with it this year as its the only rifle we have that'll fit him. For thise that asked why not more than one rifle? My plan is to eventually own both an ar and a gunsite scout. But at the present time I am very tightly budgeted and can only afford one rifle at a time. Thank you to everyone for the opinons Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  7. Yeah open trigger guards dont bother me. That was the style picked to have made. I normally carry cocked and locked, and as long the holster doesn't kick my safety off for some reason I'm not worried about it Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  8. I had this made for my 1911 by member gjohnson here. 30 degree cant, suede lined, very basic, no frills. Made for open carry around the farm, built for a fast draw. Ill be taking delivery this week. Ill do a full report once I get it and get some time with it on. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

  10. When I called about a firing pin for my Mini 30 they wouldn't sell one. Factory fitted part not avaliable to the public. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

  12. Ive been buying and selling to decide what I want. I dont have the money to buy them all so I have to sell one to buy one. I hadnt thought about the small game capability of the AR and that is a big aspect of survival. And I have only seen a few m16s so nasty they wouldnt function at all, so I know its not as big an issue as most think. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  13. Dang. I wish all the guys who voted ar would give me a reason I could inject that into my descision making process.
  14. Hey guys I have been doing some thinking and wanted to get some opinons. Which rifle would you pick if you were only going to have one rifle? Uses would be deer hunting, truck gun, range toy, SHTF rifle, and all around woods gun. My choice have been narrowed down to two. Choice #1 AR-15 I have a custom AR-15, chambered in 5.56. It is a good quailty model, magpul flip ups, etc. AR pros Semi auto Higher capacity Light weight Ammo and mag prices qnd avaliability Familarity with the platform AR cons Gas system that has more tendency to foul up 5.56 is not a heavy hitting round Choice #2 Ruger Gunsite Scout GSR pros Bolt gun simplicty Good ghost ring sights 10 rd mag .308 better for long range and heavier hitting GSR cons Lower capacity Heavier Bolt gun so slower in a bad situation Harder to find mags and ammo Please give me your opinon. I could sell my AR for $1400 or so and have seen GSR's in the $800 price range. That would leave $600 for optic, ammo, and mags. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  15. WBC. I wouldnt piss on them if they were on fire. Anyone who will hold a sign that says thank God for ieds and dead soliders at a military funeral deserves some horrible shit to come around. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  16. I hope to have some steel silheouts made up as well as steel spinners. We will need target frames/mount for all targets because it is an open field with no trees or anything to mount on. Ill bring what I can as far as target frames go. We will make it happen Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  17. Bwhahahaha. I'll keep my ideas on gay rights to myself, but anything to piss off Westboro idiots is great Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  18. Ill do my best to keep it running smoothtly. Still no idea on food. Do you guys wanna cook out or just bring your lunch with you? Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  19. Well ill be the big bearded guy wearing a GI 1911 open, directing traffic Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  20. If I could get a letter as stated above, Id be willing to test it. I don't have $1k's in guns to lose, my assets (cars, etc) are paid off and in my wifes name, and my land lord couldn't care less as long as I don't steal anything or hurt anyone, or his house. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere
  21. And thats why I carry a 1911 in .45 with an 8 rd mag. :p I would not feel undergunned with a revolver. Any pistol is a defensive weapon, and its primiary use is to get me back to my truck and a rifle. At the end of the day any gun you will carry 100% of the time is better than one you'll be prone to leave at home. I'll take a 22 lr NAA revolver in hand over a 19+1 9mm xdm in the safe any day.
