Like I said. Their right to support them openly. My right to not support theur company, just like its their right to boycott chick fil a and my right to support them. Thats the awesome thing about a free country. I can disagree with you and we can still co-exist by me not choosing or choosing to use your products or patronize your business. sent from the backwoods

Ill probably go to liveleak. Cancelling either way. Free country. Their choice to support it and mine not too. sent from the backwoods

And this is why I carry. I really don't give a damn about the riots and if they burn their own neighborhoods down around them. But they are gonna run into a lot of suprises if they decide to kill this "cracka" sent from the backwoods

Just got off the phone with the guy who runs cattle on the fields behind our place. Its kinda of a co-lease. We rent and were told we could use the property, but he leases those fields specifically for cattle and has had the lease for 10 years. He asked me not to shoot in the fields anymore because he is moving in more cattle, and last time we shot a fence got cut by a round and I didnt notice it in against the woodline. So now I'm back to going up to my old mans. Oh well stuff happens, just sucks. So I'm back to having the backyard for test fires or a 20 min drive to anything worth shooting lol. Just thought Id share as several here have came over and shot or were planning too. sent from the backwoods

Can't I just come to your place and hand out during the collapse? :) You ok with staring at the ass end of a plow horse for 10 hours a day, carrying water for the garden, hoeing weeds, butchering animals, helping with security, etc? The only people who will be at my place will be pulling their own weight, the rest will find nothing but bad blood and good aim. sent from the backwoods

Amen to that. This is why I not only try to learn every skill possible, I also open my home to anyone willing to learn any primtive skill that might mak3 them more independent sent from the backwoods

Are you prepared to defend yourself with a blade?

4" blade will do a heck of a lot of damage. sent from the backwoods -
Alright. It'll be at my place this time,. instead of my old mans. So it'll be in Oliver Springs. I'm gonna host a big shoot soon, but if you wanna come up and spend time dialing in on a nice quiet range, then your more than welcome, cause I'd like to check out that upper lol.
-
So you haven't made the drive up here to my place yet, why? I've got 400+ yards, all you gotta do is say the word man.
-
So have you got to shoot this yet? Considering ordering one of these and wondered what your initial impressions are?

I like it. Looks very nice

The OC'ers Strike Back: Challenge "Police State"
Spots replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
From the article " “They’ve been going around writing down everyone’s license plate number…†said attorney Joshua Prince, a lawyer for Justin Dillon, the founder of Open Carry PA. “They said they’re going to be querying the JNet [Justice Network] system to basically try and do facial recognition…and then proceed from there in issuing citations.†sent from the backwoods -
Gotcha. I was wondering why something like that would be any thing other than low carbon mild steel. Cool that it did harden in a water quench. sent from the backwoods

Did that crank actually have enough carbon to harden? Water quench or oil? Looks pretty good man. sent from the backwoods

Mine is a get home bag, as I plan to bug in, but same concept. 4 or 5 500 calorie meal bars, small towel, coffee pot and coffee, 70 liter water bladder, zip ties, zip loc bags, trash bags, nomex and kevlar gloves, chest rig, combat load plus for the AR. 9 mags. 8 in the rig, one in the rifle. 4 loaded spare mags for the 1911. Foot powder, couple pair of socks, mole skin. Military compass, 1:50k map, blowout med kit on my chest rig. I always have a multitool, pocket knife and lighter with me all the time. I think thats it. The coffee pot and coffee is a definite luxury, but I use my bag for camping alot also so it rides in the bag. If I actually used it to get home chances are the pot would get left in the truck. sent from the backwoods

Or just shoot the son of a *****. A dead thief is the only kind of thief I can tolerate. I know some here see more value in a human life than in material, but I bust my ass everyday for anything I have. Any man that makes the decision to take it has made his choice, and if you've made the choice to steal then you staying above ground and breathing doesn't matter to me. Maybe if more thieves were shoot or hung we wouldn't have these problems. Sorry about your things OP, I hate a damn thief. sent from the backwoods

Rule #7 direct quote from rules link above. "You understand that you may not make a public reply to a Trading Post thread designed to interfere with the sale or trade of an item. Examples are replies stating that an item can be found cheaper elsewhere, or that the price is too high, or that you have a similar item for sale for less, etc. If you wish to haggle, do it privately with the seller. No one cares what you think about the price or availability of an item."
-
You ignore it. The price is their business. if you would like to discuss and negotiate the price, you do so through the pm system. Calling them out will get you a few days of vacation through way of a ban

I would say there are more people out there who think otherwise than you realize. I think a lot of people think about a knife the same way they think about a shotgun. They think that pulling a knife will have the same effect that racking a shotgun will, and they think its more point and stab just like they think a shotgun is point and shoot. They think they take it serious, but they don't understand the gravity of the situation or what it takes to use a blade for defense. Btw I think racking a shotgun is a great way to get shot. If I'm using deadly force they will be lucky if they here the safety click off, I'm not of the mindset to give warnings or give away my location with a loud racking sound. just like if I pull a blade, I hope to have them cut and down before they ever know it came unsheathed. All that said I think his man point is to try and get people to take it seriously and really contemplate the situation. Not to thump his chest. -
The OC'ers Strike Back: Challenge "Police State"
Spots replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The cop answering with "Following orders" was a horrible response. To much us vs them attitude on both sides. Of course my ideas on where to start is that everyone is allowed to own and carry what they want. If a police officer can carry there, why can't I? If a policeman can have a select fire SBR, why can't I? they are citizens just as I am. -

I wouldn't ever want to take on a black bear with a blade, let alone a grizzly. ;) - OS Wouldn't be a bad way to go out. Blade buried to the hilt in a bear. sent from the backwoods -
Are you prepared to defend yourself with a blade?
Spots replied to Spots's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
It would probably give me nightmares. A blade makes a freaking mess, Ive done a lot of research and studied on knife wounds, especially stuff from prisons. I was raised killing and butchering hogs, deer, etc, and some of the wounds I've seen made by a serious blade will make your stomach turn. A true situation where I had to use a blade would be a nightmare. -

His point is to make sure people understand what its like to be on the other side of someone who is intent on killing you. It normally isn't a knife fight, as much as its a slash and hack and stab against an unarmed person. Its not really about the skill of your opponent, its more about the ferocity and determination of them. We always trained to deal with an NFL linebacker on PCP, so anything less than that would be a break. Just one point of view, and I will always stand by the fact that I believe a 12 ga shotgun is the best weapon to bring to a knife fight
