Based solely on posts on this forum, I think it is safe to say that Spots and his father have oodles of invaluable and somewhat rare skills upon which they can draw when needed. Some of them I'd like to learn (especially the whole blacksmithing thing.) Others, like this, are amazing to see but would just get me killed if I tried to do it. I know me well enough to freely admit that. Thanks man, we try. Most of my dads knowledge is born of necessity. Growing up they had mules and horses, so he learned to work drafts. When he got married he had very little money, and needed a home so he learned as he went, cut logs and built himself a log house. He ran equipment for a living, and basically had to teach himself on the fly. Blacksmithing was something that intrested him, and comes in handy for repair work around the farm. Same with wood work. He was intrested, and makes unique stuff that they couldn't afford. He reads a ton, and has a never quit attitude. He isnalso very competitive, and passed it on to his kids. If you can climb that tree in 3 min, he'll do it in 2 and a half kinda thing. The climbing and logging skills were born of necessity. When he built my sisters house he had to drop some very large trees, in nasty terrian. When a tree was dead beside our house, he could either climb it and cut it or pay $3k to have it done. My uncle was a climber for the power company, but my dad basically borrowed some gear and taught himself. He bought some better gear and a dvd and a few books on it and got better. Spent some time at my old mans and decided to get in some climbing practice. Spotted an small maple, roped it and geared up and went up 3 times. Climbing is a ton of fun and a good skill, but hard work. And then practiced free hanging descents, just drop the gaffs out of the tree and ride the rope down. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

  Big difference between a whole police force of officer friendlies, and having a little common sense. If the womens plates came back as a felony warrant, or violent to officers thats one thing. Treating normal citizens like criminals, as more and more cops do everyday, is not acceptable. Police officers are hated and looked down upon because the majority of LEO interactions lead to this type of attitude. To many times I have seen a police officer drive right by someone with a flat tire, or car problems. No they are not repairmen, but an offer to call someone to help them would go a long ways. If cops wanna be liked, they need to lose the chip on their shoulder, the us vs them attitude, and start punishing those who do stupid stuff. You say a lawsuit would ruin his career? I say the man has no business being an LEO if that is how he conducts himself in that situation. It doesnt matter whether she had worse injuries or not because of their actions. The potential was there. If you discharge a firearm at a person, but miss, should you be turned loose because you didnt hit them and they sustained no injuries?

And because it involves LEO a select few here will defend their actions no matter what, because they are "brothers". As a Marine, Iam in one of the tightest brotherhoods in the world. First thing you do at an accident scene is make it safe for the victims and the people in the area. Even before treating anyone you turn the vehicles ignitions off to keep from having a fire and make sure no drunks or injured people are still in control of a vehicle. . It took them a minute to figure out what was going on. Unresponsive women just involved in an auto accident. Instead of turning off car and removing keys from ignition, lets drag her out and flop her down on the pavement. Screw basic first aid knowledge, like don't move an accident victim if they may have neck or back injuries. Its much more important to secure the person drive because they MIGHT be drunk. If I see an accident my first thought and action is gonna be to render aid until first responders arrive. Not drag the unconscious women from the car. If a person has a medical condition that can cause the death of an innocent person they should not be driving…. Period. Was the guy in truck injured? And if the medical condition is unknown? Cops do not have a license to treat people like shit and abuse their power. And you can say it 10% all you want, but there is alot of evidence to the contrary. Im not saying every cop is bad. What if that was your wife or your mother? If you drag my wife out onto the pavement, in cuffs while she is having a diabetic episode, then a lawsuit will be the least of your worries. I get hit at least 3 - 4 times a year. Always keep a pouch of redman in the truck for just that reason. Ive hit yellow jackets bushhogging and it sucks. Also hit a yellow jackets nest once plowing with a horse.... That sucked... anymore I just tear them down and crush them with my hands most of the time.
