Normally people who ask questions have a reason for wanting an answer? If somebody asked what the best chainsaw for cutting firewood out of model a and model b was, and I spent 20 minutes typing up reasons why and sharing my experince, and made mention that neither of those was really approiate for the use listed and suggested they instead look into models c, d, and e and then they said it doesnt matter because it was just hypothetical and they werent buying a chainsaw, it would still piss me off. I come here for two reason. One is to catch up on news and talk with friends and the other is to learn and teach people. No, its a ridiculous question. Neither is a good combo by itself. If I had to have a .22 lr it would be a long gun, but you can be sure my main firearms will be an AR and a 1911. A .22lr handgun takes power and accuracy away from a round that needs every advantage. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

And neither handgun is chambered in an effective hunting cartridge. Just keep in mind a handgun was designed to be a defensive weapon. Its a way to fight to a long gun. I actually don't like most polymer pistols because they feel like a brick to me. I guess Ive just shot to many 1911's and smooth as silk revolvers that felt I perfect in the hand and I cant get used to them. On the service life, I'm just repeating what this gentleman said. I will say I would prefer a Sig to a Glock, but in the end I would prefer the LEO's to have the best tools they can get no matter what as long as they arent just spendig money for something pretty. Knoxville switched to sig p220's today. Was speaking with a patrol seargent last night, and he was also a glock Armourer. I won't use his name, but he did say they had trouble from the 4th gen glocks, and that Craigs Firearms had told them and they were on a 5 year service life program. When that came to light, Craigs supposedly changed their story to a longer service life,as it would benefit them much more for Knoxville to stick with Glock. Every deployment I went on included xbox 360's for entertainment. When your on a ship or out in some deseet shit hole, there is no internet. So I guess the military guys would just have to suck it up, since they couldn't be included in "the future" of gamiing. Lots.of good advice. Definitely gonna try the batbtub method. My dishwasher has jet dry in it and Im kind of afraid my wife may kill me if I wash my boots in there. As far as water making them stiff, I use the water to make them stretch and break in, then when tbey start to dry, but before they get stiff I oil the hell out of them. I like the snoseal beacuse its beeswax based. I use neatsfoot oil on harness and some other stuff, just prefer the snoseal on boots. My method is this for oiling. It works well for any of the stiffer oils like mink oil or snoseal. Step 1. Send wife to parents house or shopping Step 2 set oven to 200 degrees. Place boots inside and leave door cracked Step 3. Remove boots when they are warm to the touch. Apply snoseal or mink oil and hot leather will melt and absorb it like butter. Apply all they will take. Step 4 place back in oven and repeat until boots will no longer absorb any oil. Step 5 Buff off excess and enjoy your soft water resistant boots. As far as boots being expensive, your boots affect your knees, feet, hips and back. Even as poor as I am I find it best to buy the best boots I can afford. I get much longer service life and my body is much less sore at the end of a long day. My wife understands that, and supports me on stuff like this. But I only buy a pair of work boots every couple of years and I wear them for EVERYTHING. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Yeah I always try to soak them and wear them dry on leather boots. I used to use mink oil or neatsfoot oil, but have found snoseal does a better job at waterproofing, and animal oils can turn rancid and make your boots and in turn your feet stink if you aren't careful. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

I don't mind sharing what I've learned & I have pretty thick skin so no worries, he (and anyone else) is welcome to come down & go hunting or fishing with me, so long as they have the proper license & don't act like a tard/jerkoff or drink/do drugs, we'd probably all have a good time, maybe learn something in the process. I learn new stuff all the time, the trick is to always keep an open mindset to new ideas/ways of doing stuff. Spot's is the man though, I'm just in awe of that dude & his dad, the stuff I could learn from those two would definately be invaluable. I don't know about being the man lol. I was lucky enough to have a dad who believed in do it yourself to the extreme, as well as being competitive and humble at the same time. He learned alot from his dad, and the rest he taught himself from necessity, just as I've had to do with somethings. I finally got some new work boots. Ive been using my issued boots for almost 2 years now and they finally gave up the ghost. Ive always preffered heavy leather boots, and found a set of Red Dawg 12" tall loggers on sale and picked them up. Ive had them for a week and so far I love the height and sturdiness. Now the hate part. I forgot how much of a complete pain in the ass it is to break in solid leather work boots. Ive worn them in and they get better everyday, but Im getting ready to soak them in water tonight and wear them dry, then when my new can of sno seal gets here Im gonna oil the hell out of them to make them softer and waterproof them a bit. This rain has delayed constructing of our new home for the past two weeks. It's got to stop sooner or later or we're going end up moving about 2 months later than originally planned. We did a basement last month. We would come in, lay block from 7:00 to 12:30, pack up, go eat lunch and drive home in the rain. It rained without fail everyday for the entire 2 weeks we laid block, starting between 1200 and 100. How about "most gun and ammo" for size and weight? How about most gun and ammo that is effective on any game larger than rabbit? A rifle is only a club without ammo. So when I say gun I automatically include ammo and mags. I also give thought to how many uses the firearm has and ballistics. So you can carry 500 .22lr shells, bu5 thats not gonna mean shit if you have to defend yourself against a determined attacker. Depends. Do you like to sharpen, or do you just want sharp knives? If you dont care how they get sharp, but a 1 x 30 belt grinder from harbor freight. 120, 220, 320, 400, 600, 800 grit belte and a leather strop belt.
