Here is that leapers. Adjustable parallax from 3 yds to infinity. Red or green lit reticle, comes with decent qd rings. I had one on my AR for awhile and it performed very well. http://m.tactical-store.com/ts-lp-rs-scp-m392aolwq.html Tapatalk ate my spelling.

I like the Leapers/UTG 3-9x32. Great little scope for less than $100 Tapatalk ate my spelling.

I saw it all the time in the hot rod world. Lots of drag motors with "5 tuning passes". Yeah tuning in a 250 wet shot of nitrous on a 12:1 big block lol. My favorite is "has a slight tick, probably a lifter" then you get there and the rod bearings are hammering so bad you can't hear the exhaust. Guns are a big one also. My idea of lightly used is not what most people think of as lightly used it would seem. Most of the time it looks like a battlefield pick up with a shot out barrel. As for values, I saw this is the car and gun world. This is how I imagine people rate gun prices and car horsepower. Example Stock Honda Civic 175 bhp Exhaust advertised as adds up to 10 horsepower Intake advertised to add up to 10 horsepower Tuner advertised to add up to 30 horsepower Add all the highest numbers together and now they think their civic makes 225 whp. And they will advertise it as such. On guns they will add up the individual cost of the accessories new, total it with the new gun cost, add in the cost of any ammo they have using match grade prices, and now thats what the gun is worth. Ok rant off. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
I opened this thread with great interest. When you said nostalgic I really figured to see something midieval. I figured maybe you made some old fashioned suit of armor or something... But, don't let that take away from the plaque, it looks cool...
Not everything with me revolves around blacksmithing lol. And for all the stuff I do with my hobbies, that amateur made gun rack with a plaque engraved with tbe words of friends and signed by all of them means more than most anything in this world. Especially considering one of the Marines who signed that plaque has died and now guards the gates of heaven. Thanks for the compliments guys, time for another beer on this end. I was sitting at home drinking a beer and got nostalgic from my days in the Marines. I dug out the plaque the guys from my unit made for me and presented to me the day I left Okinawa. If anyone ever comes by for a beer or to shoot just ask and I'll let you read it. Its not really appropriate for this forum lol. I hung up my M14 and my Grandpa's Model 12 12 gauge on it as they seemed fitting companions. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

AR all the way. DanO
Yeah but the AR is a poodle shooter pretending to be a battle rifle. I'll stick with my M14. Accuracy AND knockdown lol. It is a cool concept though, this kind of stuff is what fuels more development which is good for the community Tapatalk ate my spelling.
What Spot isn't letting onto is the style of hammer he carries... (oldie but goodie)
Have you meet me? That hammer is way to little. This is more my style, its the one I had in the truck Though this used to be a hammer. Is it an assault hammer now?? I will admit to having stickers. I have two TGO stickers, a couple of Molon Labe and Come and Take it ones and a Marine Veteran sticker. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
It's the main reason they don't max out the hardness when they heat treat blade steel. Brittle ain't a good quality for a knife edge, and I don't know how you can avoid it with ceramic.
Yep. When you harden steel by heating and quenching its extremely hard and will hold an edge forever. But if you drop it on concrete or ding it against something it'll crack or possibly shatter. So you have to temper them down to a managable rockwell. Thats the reason I don't own a ceramic. I have never seen one any sharper than a well sharpened high carbon steel knife. By well sharpened I mean scalpel/straight razor sharp. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
Okay, that made me laugh. Seriously though, do you guys not carry HCP badges? How do you identify yourselves to potential citizens in distress?
If I it comes to that, Ill be the bearded operator thats operating operationally by shooting mother f'ers in the face with my battle rifle. And I'll kill the last one with a tomahawk throw right before I scalp them. Thats after I scream "I'm here to help" while waving my gun around Tapatalk ate my spelling.
Pretty sure I could recognize the guy. I may have a little fun with him this next week at McCraps. Sure wish I had a CC badge too. B.
Hes a white guy, about 5'9" with short cut brown hair and an apache beard. You know, a patch here and a patch there.... He was fairly decently dressed, work clothes and boots, but they were clean, not like he had actually been working. Pulled up in an older model Mercury. The ones that look kinda like Crown Vics.
Dude, Spots. That is simply the most epic thing I have ever heard...Er, read. 27 internets to Spots with a bonus awarded for excellence.
It is what I felt like doing. I had that little short 8 lb hammer laying in the floorboard where I could grab it. It kinda chills there alot. It seemed like a better alternative to shooting the guy :) I'm thinking probably drugs and ballsy. He figured I would react differently when he flipped his "badge" out and assume he was an LEO. He got more aggressively postured and vocal when I kept refusing. Until I got out of the truck, and at that point I was done ####ing around. I firmly told him to leave me alone, and he did. Which is good because I was about done telling him anything I am not that big lol. But I think alot of it was I was sitting down in a truck and eating so he figured I was distracted, and its hard to tell size in a vehicle most of the time. You go ahead and spend that nickle. Just don't spend it all in one spot lol. And I didnt know I bent your table, my bad lol. My guess is thats his "area". He saw me eating and playing on my phone and thought I was distracted. He acted suprised that I was looking at the window waiting on him when he cleared the side of my truck. I guess he is used to people who aren't remotely aware of their surroundingsTapatalk ate my spelling.
While this incident seems to be resolved, I'd just point out that I never travel anywhere with a visible gun case in my car or truck. I just toss a blanket or jacket over the case. I also have tinted windows on my vehicles so it would be almost impossible to for anyone to see inside without putting their face against the glass. Anyway, congrats to the OP for called the LEOs in on this one.
Well I was wearing my jacket since its been cold all day, and I work outside. I've never felt the need to cover a case. And its not like I can hide a full size m14 in a regular cab dodge dakota. It won't fit behind the seats. And normally I'm not out of sight of my truck on the jobsite anyways, so I never worried about it. I figured when the guy noticed the case he was gonna ask what it was, or if I had been hunting. Its a fairly small rural town, so not unusual to see long guns in windows or seats, especially during deer season Tapatalk ate my spelling.
So do I win a prize of having guessed the intent?
Sure. A shiny new HCP badge is on its way Yeah yeah.
Yeah, I'd really like to know what the outcome of the conversation was with the guy and the LEO. The whole thing sounds really F'd up.
Just got off the phone with the responding LEO. It was a fishing trip. This guy has been caught with stolen goods before and served time for theft. He said they had complaints on him a few times in the last few weeks doing the same thing to people either open carrying or with long guns or gun cases visible. They haven't been able to do anything to him other than warn him because he is playing stupid and playing thengood citizen. He never represented himself as an LEO so no impersonation charges can be filed. Basically hes a scum bag they can't touch. Doesn't even have a hcp. So watch yourselves Gents. They have a new game. Cop said I did the right thing by remaining calm and non-confrontational and not showing him the long gun to give him a target to look for. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
You need to eat better than that ! So, now, which McCraps was it, and what did you order ? We need details ****it!!
It was the one at the green bridge in Clinton. And I ordered 2 Mchikens, I guess I forgot to tell them to leave off the side of asshole that came with it lol Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Best I can figure he was either fishing or an idiot. He was very calm, and I took the Marine mindset of "Be polite, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet". I was polite but firm, and finally stepped out of the truck when he acted like he was getting upset. I was calmer than normal as I didnt want to beat some dude to death with the 8 lb sledge laying in the floorboard the day after Christmas. Call it my holiday spirit i guess. I figured he was fishing and got upset that I didnt pull the rifle out of the case or act intimidated so that he could steal something. Oh well. Chalk up to weirdness. The responding LEO is a friend of mine so Ill ask him later what happened after I left. I don't eat much fast food, and would have normally went in, but I was in a hurry due to work. So something for odd just happened. I was eating lunch in my truck at McDonald's and a car pulled in next to me. A gentleman stepped out and looked in my window and saw the rifle case in my sest. He walked around and asked to see my permit since I was carrying a long gun. I asked for credentials and he produced a handgun carry badge.... he then insisted on seeing the rifle to make sure it was unloaded since I wouldnt show him a permit. I refused, and told him he wasn't seeing shit, and that the gun was legal because it was unloaded, and he finally went inside. I then called the law. They showed up, asked me a few questions and went inside to question him while I went back to work. Lots of crazies folks, watch yourselves. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
Why not replace all the county "workers" with volunteers and solve several problems at once. There are many older retired persons who could do a better job than the paid "workers" and they have an interest in keeping tax costs down.
Some county jobs can't be covered by volunteers. My old man retired from the county highway department last year, and I saw what he did for 40 years. Its hard enough to find someone willing to work for the little they do pay considering what they do. Cutting trees off banks in downpours, going in to cut snow on Christmas eve. Ive seen my dad leave home with the rowd so icy it looked like glass, go get a grader, put on a full set of chains and cut snow for 40+ hours straight. He would stop long enough to refill a coffee thermos. Who would volunteer to cover those jobs? Or school maintenance jobs? Tapatalk ate my spelling.
