  1. I just wear plain old Wrangler straight leg jeans. I have one pair of Duluths and love them, but good Lord are they expensive.
  2. I will add this. T years as a Marine and we started on A2's in boot camp then got issued A4's in the fleet. While the 16" collapsible stocked carbines are all the rage in the civy world and with all other branches, the Marine Corps is big on tradtion. I loved my A4. Yeah it makes vehicle and helicopter stuff more of a pain in the boot, but when it comes time to accurately put lead down range out to 500 yards, I still feel most comfortable with a full stocked 20" AR instead of a 16" carbine. So enjoy yourself.
  3. One of my favorites at the moment There Is A Time - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band: http://youtu.be/_YKY_GzYEnU This has always been my go to music. Heavy dark outlaw country. Language and NSFW warning for any thing by Hank the Third 3 Shades of Black - Hank Williams III: http://youtu.be/GkzSyvCl9ic
  4. So since I finally got a break from 6 days a week, 12 hours a day work I fired up the forge. This is the first forged finger ring guard I've ever seen, with the few others ive seen being brass. This was forged from a high carbon trailer spring. 10" blade, spalted maple handle, steel butt plate with hidden tang. Steel finger ring guard. I had fun with this one and it's probably gonna be my new big knife carry once the leathers done
  5. Is it GI sights? If so I dont know anyone who really picks them up great lol. Great looking pistol I love 1911's
  6. He is a moron, and depending what side of town he was on he is lucky somebody didn't feed him that gun. If you pull a gun on me, you damn well better shoot me, not a warning shot into the ground. Idiots like this are the reason people think of the irresponsible gun toting redneck crap.
  7. I would like to see a good remake of Thubder Road. I would also like to see good movies about the Battle of Blair mountain and the battle of Athens. This explains Blair Mountain Matewan Massacre & Battle of Blair Mountain / Byzantine: http://youtu.be/R1CCZE9dMB0
  8. What a moron. You just attack a man because you saw a holstered handgun? And the guy who got attacked really needs to work on his situational awarness. I'm not the sharpest tool, but I tend to notice someone following me from the parking lot. I would have loved for his dumbass to grab someone like my dad. 62 years old, 6th degree black belts in Taekwondo, Judo and Hapkido. It woulda ended great and ths gun would have never left the holster. And the man probably wouldn't have been hurt more than having his breath knocked out by the throw, then the odd sensation of being choked outto quickly to react. Why can't they ever grab the wrong one....
  9. I know I was born in the wrong century. I love revolvers, sxs shotguns, leverguns, blackpodwer stuff, plus anyone thats meet me and seen some of my hobbies knows most of them woulda seemed normal 150 yrs ago
  10. Yaaa I made the list. Ive meet lots of people here. I still wanna meet Red333 and Tgodavid.
  11. Couple months back doing knife and hawk training with Dwight McLemore.
  12. We had them in our duty vehicles in the Marines. They wanted to make sure we weren't being morons. We also had gps trackers and speed sensors. It makes for a long, boring drive.
  13. Not yet lol. Thats on the list.
  14.   I think his puncation was wrong. I think he was asking "Why? Do you want to kill someone?"
  15. I don't know about that. Something I noticed in the military is there are lots of badasses even when a gun is pointed at them. But when the first suot rings out it makes that flight or fight kick in a lot harder than just seeing a firearm. Some guys aren't gonna be deterred by anything short of being shot themselves, but most will react in some form to a gunshot in their direction
  16. It would if theres two of them [emoji1] I'd be a hell of a lot more likely to keep my head down and be trying to exit the immediate area if I heard a gunshit vs a shotgun being racked.
  17. Before I start, Ive been rather stressed lately, and just need a place to vent after the idiocy I had to deal with last night at work. So I was showing my new shotgun to my brother in law whom I work with. Its an 18.5" cylinder bore Mossberg 500. Another guy we work with wandered up while were talking and starts giving unsolicited advice. First I said I still needed to drill and tap and add the front bead, which he informs me is stupid because you don't need to aim a shotgun, just point and shoot. I mention that a shot spread is gonna be very small at short distance, and that the myth of the street sweeper patterns isn't really true. He then mentions my pet peeve. He said a pump shotgun is his favorite for home defense because the sound of the pump racking will cause an attacker to run in fear. Why do people claim this? All you do when you rack the gun is slow yourself down and identify your location. He just wouldn't accept the fact that racking a shotgun wouldn't immediately cause any human on earth to faint or run in fear. Well, rant over. What myths have you heard about firearms and shooting that really grind you?
  18. A two stroke will need fresh rings and plugs on occasion. Nothing super crazy. And change the oil. The new MX style four strokes can be quiet maintenance intensive, with valve adjustments and top end rebuilds. An older trail style four stroke like the XR series is just gas and go with ocassional oil changes. They are bomb proof. A 2 stroke KDX 220 is an amazing trail bike, one I had forgot about. 125 two strokes are peaky and can be more difficult to ride due to the lack of low end tq and the sudden spike in power. A 250 2 stroke is basically equivalent to a 450 four stroke, that raced together for years. A 400cc+ two stroke is a rare beast these days and can hurt you badly if your not an experienced rider.
  19. Used XR 400. You want a trail bike. The new water cooled racing four strokes can be maintenance intensive and are made to be revved to the moon, and some can be cranky about starting hot. I grew up on a YZ 490 two stroke and it wasnt bad on plugs. Just carry a few spares. I trail rode two strokes my whole life and they have a lot harder hit where as a four stroke has a smooth pull. But a used XR 400 or DRZ 400 or 250 will be reliable, smooth and comfy with great torque and a good trail ride demeanor.
  20. Where are you buying it from? They will usually haul for a small fee, less than $100. Most private guys will charge close to that just to cover time and fuel cost. Also you do know its crusher run not crush and run right?
  21. Have you ever run with a subload? If I can find it I have a black large med pouch subload that you can try before buying one. Some guys dont mind them, but I do everything in my power to keep all my gear of my legs. Thigh holsters, subloads, even tying down a knife. It just drives me nuts. I know others the same way, and then some people it doesnt bother at all. PM me your address and Ill send you this subload to try before you make a large investment
  22. You'll definitely have to change the mag tube to go to 14". This is one I cut down friday. We cut it down on a mini mill and did one facing cut so its perfectly flat and straight. It took about 30 min. A hacksaw will do the same thing as long you have a guide like Dolomite mentioned. That said, I have shot several pistol grip only shotguns, with both 18" and shorter barrels. To me its nothing but a painful range toy. Hard to aim, hard to control for a follow up shot and does about the same damage on both ends lol. The only plus to me is manuverability, but I would only build one for a toy or a breaching gun.
  23. Is it dirt floored? If so then heavy plastic sheeting on the floor will help alot
  24. I picked up a used Mossberg 500 for stupid cheap at the LGS where I have good friends yesterday. We took it to the milling machine and cut the 24" barrel at 18.5" then surfaced it to make it perfectly square. Now we just need to drill and tap for a front bead, and I am going to strip, age, darken and refinish the wood to fit the trench/old school theme, and probably add a blued heat shield down the road at some point. For now I've got a good 5 + 1 home defense and general purpose shotgun.
  25. Updated mine for the New Year. Forrest Bondurant, my favorite character of all time
