My father in law has hired guys to help us on Construction jobs, he is a general contractor. Your best bet is to find ads of people looking for work, instead of posting one looking for people. If they are posting an ad looking for work then that means they want to work and probably have bills to pay and a family to feed. You could get them to sign a paper, though I have no idea how much it would help if you did get sued. If they start asking about workers comp and insurance first thing, then run away. They are probably hunting a payout. What do you need done specifically? Sent from the backwoods

Use a good herbicide and kill the grass, then do the torch and rope style tar to seal it. The material in your driveway is called chip and seal or chipseal, lots of county road departments used to use it on backroads. Sent from the backwoods

Firing both barrels with one trigger pull would make it a machine gun per ATF wording of multiple shots per trigger pull wouldn't it? Or am I thinking wrongly about that. I'd love to have a lil hideout Derringer, but man they look brutal to shoot in big calibers. Sent from the backwoods

Funny I've never seen one show up out where my parents live. I use junk mail to fire the forge, and the census papers burn as good as any. Sent from the backwoods

You say that assuming everyone who posted is a a Christian. After seeing the thousands of Muslims who celebrated and partied in the streets after 9/11, I really couldn't give a damn less if they all died. Muslims are a plague upon the earth, who if they follow their relegion are destined to either convert or kill anyone of any other faith. So no, I have no pity for a bunch of false prophet worshipping pedophiles who died. Sent from the backwoods

Especially considering this forum usually goes out of its way to ensure nobody starts bashing cops just because they are cops. Sent from the backwoods

Some people aren't afraid of guns. I've never seen anyone not react to a large blade though. Something psychological tells you to fear a piece of steel. And it's messy work. A gunshot wound is gonna do a lot, but the thought of losing a hand or getting an eye cut out, etc makes a lot of people freeze up. Sent from the backwoods

Yep. I assume the worst. Most Muslims are not wanting to simply be accepted. They wish to implement Sharia law and take over the land. The only relegious freedom for them is their relegion. I have no pity for those who died. "Speak of the devil and he shall appear". They wouldn't be dead if they weren't there to worship a false prophet who promoted pedophilia Sent from the backwoods

I would assume he is referring to the fact that the main star is shown to be blind at the end. I know it's supposed to show a man walking in faith and being led by God, but requires a lot of suspension of belief to think he could make the shots and even walk a devastated country for 30 years blind. I think he was referring to the fact that I really like to train with knives. When I went up and trained with Col McLemore one topic that came up over an evening drink was dueling. Imagine the mentality of someone who would chose to fight in mutual combat with a bowie knife as their weapon. Especially in a time when taking someone apart with a blade was still a major part of some people's learning. I'd rather fight a pissed of grizzly then a man with a big knife and the skill the use it. But if it cake down to it, I've done a lot of training with a big knife, and it's a skill that may eventually come in handy down the road.

The book of Eli. I think humans would quickly devolve into roving bands of marauders and warlords would take over there sections quickly. Also, after 30 years, ammo would have to be becoming scarce, and blades would very much come back into play. Sent from the backwoods

Spent some time in the forge yesterday. Time for blacksmith work is short, I work 6 and 7 12's at an automotive factory now, so I rarely have days off. But when I do, I like to do unique stuff. This is a Tanto utility blade, 6" blade, 11" overall, and a full tang, long clip fighter. 10 1/8", 15.5" overall, made from a hoof rasp. Both are forge tempered for strength, home logged, milled and cut oak handles. Sent from the backwoods

Of course they may respond like this young lady. At which point she will find out pepper spray doesn't affect everyone, and some people have had to deal with it and respond after being sprayed. So that's gonna end one of two ways. Both start with me automatically going into weapons retention. One way ends with a beating, the other a shooting. And that all depends on how threatened I feel. I grew up in Anderson County, New River to be exact. You've been there to shoot OS, as have several others. Even now the typical LEO response is "All units are busy, we can be there about 900 am, when it gets good and daylight. We are kinda known for handling our own shit. As for calling the law on me when I open carry, by all means go ahead. Wouldn't be the first conversation I've had, and it's not gonna stop me from exercising my bought and paid for open carry privilege in good ol' Tennessee Sent from the backwoods

Quick question on "printing"
Spots replied to OH UNCLE PAUL's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
A vest is an amazing concealment garmet. If I wasn't wearing one you would be able to plainly see the Glock 17 I'm wearing at 4 o clock position. As far as printing, in Tennessee, as already stated it's a non-issue. As for other states, I would research their reciprocity laws on HCP'S and if you permit is legal than I'd check their laws on carry. Forum questions help, but can't be used as legal advice. I don't like cats at all. But that doesn't mean I want any animal to suffer. And I like my dogs and horses more than I like most people. My dogs are my babies. Me and my wife have a struggled to have children, so our 6 yr old maltipoo that I bought her when we first moved to California has been our baby for years. She has never stabbed me in the back or hurt me purposefully. So yeah, I like her better than most humans I meet. Sent from the backwoods

It's real. Here's the link for purchase http://thehandgunsling.com/ My three biggest issues are no trigger cover, which dolomite post takes care of. Handling a loaded firearm by feel while blocking the muzzle. And it's small of the back carry. I'm not a huge fan of sob carry, because if you get slammed it's gonna hurt and possible break something. But if it gets people to carry when they would otherwise leave it at home then so be it I guess. Kinda like the little bitty Saturday night specials. Any gun is better than no gun. I can pretty well gurantee if Walmart stops selling something it's due to money. They don't give a crap about what liberals want, or conservatives or anyone else. They care about money. Pools of money. If they aren't moving tactical weapons because there has been a market flood since 2012, then they aren't going to continue spending money to store and shelf those items. They may spin it to make themselves the "Common sense gun control hero" but everything a large corporation does is going to boil down to dollars in their pocket. As far as SHES? I would say the actual complete truth will never come to light. I'm not even going to debate what happened, as was stated above we have far larger problems than a school shooting 3 yrs ago. Compared to driving in San Diego, I hate most Tennessee drivers. I hated the grid lock in California but when traffic flowed everyone did 90+ mph on the interstates. Out here half the people are running 10 over, the other half are running 5 under. And way to many of them feel the need to ride the left lane or block you in because they feel the need to play speed patrol and slow you down for your own safety. I will say I've driven and ridden all over the country and there is nothing like running 90 in a turbo WRX on I-5 and it 9 lanes wide on each side, plus car pool lanes, and traffic almost bumper to bumper at those speeds. If you wanna crank the adrenaline even more do it on a beefed up bike made to lane split. Sent from the backwoods

Yep. I'm on a motorcycle without saddlebags 90% of the time. I keep a backpack stapped to the back, but if I go in somewhere that I will be for more than a few minutes I tend to take it with me so it doesn't wander off while I'm gone. I've almost quit going to the movies. I refuse to get bent over and pay $7 dollars for a drink and $5-8 for popcorn, on top of two $12 movie tickets. I'll just watch it at home thanks. Can I ask a question? Why a push dagger? They give up a hell of a lot of reach and they normally aren't long enough to hit vitals with regularity. They are a thrusting only weapon with little to no slashing, chopping or snap cut ability. A fixed blade in the 5" blade length range is a far superior weapon. I actually prefer a 11" bowie but you want to be discreet. With the right sheath setup, you can comfortably carry a large knife IWB and it'll damn near disappear. Sent from the backwoods
