Thanks for all the compliments guys. There are still a few things Im gonna change with the next one Mainly centering tge tang to the point, and putting less sweep into the point

This is one I built last weekend and hated. So I decided to drag it out of the scrap heap, throw away half the design and do something different. This is my favorite one so far. Its incredibly quick in the hand and as built as a combat quality bowie. The blade is hand forged 1084 steel, with a hidden tang design, a mild steel guard, and a seasoned oak handle. I plan to tong oil the handle this week. This one is for sale, but right now Im gonna spend the money to have an everyday carry style sheath built for it. Let me know what you think. 3/8" thick, 2.5" wide, and 13" long. It was a chunk of leaf spring from a pickup truck. We actually cut a full spring into pieces.
Man, from what I'm seeing, Spot's knife would make one hell of a camp/utility knife! Dave S
Thanks Dave. It'll be for sale after this and should make someone a dandy camp tool.
Gosh, I'd like to play, but I don't have the 150 post count... been on TGO for years, but rarely post... I'm a lurker... is there a 12 step program for that?
I don't care to wave that part. I waved it for BJB also. That is to keep people from joining up posting an intro, asking for the knife then disappearing. You've been a member since 09 I think thats plenty of time. If you want added to the list then let me know here and I'll add ya.

Either up load to youtube or photobucket. If you dont edit and just upload off a phone then photobucket is easier
Fixed blade:
I can make that one a reality. It really makes me happy to know that something I built could be a dream knife. You should get in on the passaround and test it if you like it.

If money was no object. I think its cool to see fantasy list that people come up with when money is a non-issue. So post one fixed blade and one folder you would get if you had just one the lottery and had an unlimited budget. Mine is easy: My fixed blade would be a Bill Bagswell Hell's Belle fighting bowie, built to my specs: Either one of these would work, but I prefer the top one, with Satans Lace Damascus steel, spanish notch, and a fighting guard. My folder would be a Darrel Ralph AXD 3D tanto bladed folder:

Yeah I got the feeling that in one week we will know if America continues to be the country we love, with the freedoms we enjoy everyday, or if we will do something that is not reversible and reelect a man who hates this country and would like nothing more than to destroy everything we are and stand for.

Amen to that. That beard is righteous. The bowie wouldnt shave a beard on pure principal of the fact that a clean shave just aint right.

It will have to meet building codes to have a meter set and to have a septic tank run. As for whats legal and whats not, I don't think theres anything that stops you from using anything you'd like as a home as long as it meets code for those areas. It your willing to dig and outhouse, have a well on location for water, and a generator for lights, then as far as I know theres nothing stopping you from living in anything you would like.

That was a fun lil gun to shoot.

The Future Children Project, Are we still in the U.S?
Spots replied to greenego's topic in General Chat
I don't even know what to say......... I do know Romney is not my idea of the perfect president, but compared to Obama, hes the best shot we have of staying a 1st world country. -
I'm glad you liked it. When you say hold it backwards, do you mean edge up and use the back on the blade to drive stakes, or holding backwards and using the butt cap to drive them? I'm always getting ideas on how to incorporate new and useful things into my knives. I can't wait to see what test you other guys come up with. So far the results and list: Trickynicky (Tested, scored 10/10, shipped to next person) Maroonandwhite Bjb Broomhead Musicman 56fordguy

Despite Sandy, Sentinels Stand Guard at Tomb of the Unknowns
Spots replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The first guard posted there wasn't ceremonial, but was to keep people from sitting on it, picnicking, etc. See dedication on this link, it explains when and why first guard was posted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomb_of_the_Unknowns Now it is all about honoring the fallen military who even as unknowns, will never be forgotten. -
Just left the post office. One thing tgat would help is the two clerks there both working the counter instead of one on break constantly

Which is why stamps are almost 50 cents and it costed my wife $10-$15 everytime she sent me a flat rate care package on deployment.

Are you forging or cutting? Or machining?
-
So test report. This stuff IS workable, so thats the good side. The bad side is its almost to tough to handle. We heated it to yellow heat, and spent 15 minutes working with a cleaver and 12 lb sledge. It cut a line about 4 inches long that varies from an 1/8th to a 1/4 inch deep. So cutting it into useable sizes will be an all day event. Also I hit it with the 7" grinder and cut off wheel. It barely scratched it and took a 1/4 inch of material off the wheel. So abrasive cutting is out. But I will persevere.

That sage orange was a cool idea, I would have never thought of that. So what on a scale of 1-10 where would you rate the bowie as an overall camp knife.
