No they both disappeared sometime before my dad was born in 54. Its unknown if they were sold, traded or stolen. Grandpa was born in 1900 and died in 84 and was somewhat of a local legend so who knows where they ended up. We have a few guns from Grandpa but nothing that would be old enough to be either of those.

We think its a Colt Bisley SAA but not for sure. Its definitely some type of single action and Im just going off the postion of his fingers thinking the grip frame kicks forward bisley style. It wasnt among the few guns he passed down, and it may not have even been his gun, he may have been borrowing it just for the picture.

Beautiful pistol and .41 mag is such an underrated cartridge. GLWS

So this old picture was sent to me by an Uncle. Its my Grandfather, sometime in either 1923 or 1924, holding two pistols in front of the old home place in the mountains. I thought id give it a shot to recreate since it is very close to being exactly 100 years apart.

So I have an affinity for big bores, but the ammo to do any real amount of target practice is crazy expensive. I really want to be able to roll my own and would like to cast and everything, but Im kinda at a loss where to start. Is the Lee loader hand loader style a viable option for loading approximately 50 rounds a week? What reloading manual should I start with? Any help with a direction to start in would be greatly appreciated

Gun store would be a far stretch. They do have an FFL and a very small selection of mostly used firearms, but for the most part they're prices are through the roof on both guns and ammo. The last ammo I priced in there was some Hornady V-max .22 mag and it was $42 a box of $50. And it still had a partial sticker on it from A1 tactical in Harriman where they bought it for $17 a box. I do business there on hardware and Stihl stuff, but I wouldn't waste my time doing gun business there. And Brays is closed, thats the Windrock Snack shake now. They have good burgers

Its not something Id pay a gunsmith to do to one of mine, but it is a part of history and lead to the first factory snubs. This one being a big bore in .45 acp makes it an extremely fun shooter and conversation piece as well.

So this gun has some unknown history, I bought it off Armslist a couple years ago, having an interest in all things Colt and old fashioned. Its not an orginal fitz as far as I know, but it does seem to be a very well built period copy of one. Pretty neat piece of history that i wanted to share here. A

Still looking. Bought a post-66 short frame but would like to find a pre-66 long frame or even a 27-33 square butt.

Looking for a Colt Detective Special in .38 special. Must be a blued finish pre-72 with exposed ejector rod. Would prefer a long grip frame, but short would be fine as well. Shooter condition, not looking for a collector piece though Ill definitely consider one for the right price. Will drive anywhere East of Nashville, from Kentucky to Ga line for the right pistol. Had a couple questions. Stock is a LWRC compact and grip is a Magpul moe. Rifle is a factory built rifle, not a piece meal build.
