I love this post because it shows how simple is is for a determined individual can get started. Nothing but a pair of tongs, a hammer, a make shift anvil, and a shop vac. I love it
4.
Am I the only gentile on earth that doesn't like bacon?
Yes. Bacon is the king of all foods. Especially salt bacon from a hog you killed yourself
5. Your only three hours from me if you really wanna learn. See threads below http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/53983-make-your-own-knife-classes-part-2/#entry848714 http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/55210-make-your-own-knife-class-a-review/#entry849370
6. Its no more prone to rust than any other high carbon steel. And the ht is simple, and if you ever start forging, it forges easily. If you think customs are hard to reproduce grinding, wait till you start forging them lol. But its a blast to hammer to shape
7. Double post
8. Cool
9. Very nice. Now thats how you forge on the cheap. If i can find a way ill ship you a ft of track for an anvil
10.
Have you thought about making one where the whole thing is a solid piece of metal? Maybe make it like a full tang design or wrapped handle.
Ive given it some thought just havent had steel stock that would really work for that.
11. Those look good. How are you doing your heat treatments?
12. Ive always used the img link like this: Edit doesnt work for me now either... hmmm
13. This is the wrapped eye. Working on better forge welds to ensure they are just as bombproof as my knives. I gave this one to the young man with me, unclejaks son.
14. Ive made one, a wrapped eye rasp hawk.
15. I didnt mean a wired connection, I miss spoke. I meant connecting to a normal 3g/4g phone network
16. When I said network I meant the 3g/4g network. I guess ill tell him tge note 2 is his only option for now
17. I have a friend looking into tablet options, but has been some stipulations. He wants an android OS, he wants it to be able to run off a network, not just a wi fi connection, and here the one I dont know. He wants a tablet that can call and text with its own normal phones number. is there anything like that other than the Note 2 phablet. Like a 7-10"+ normal tablet that works as a phone? Thanks guys
18. Id love to get a uberti, but its low on the list of needs
19. If I remember right thats the way it worked. It just sent me a code to redeem, and I redeemed it and it credited me the money
20. Thats how I got my membership from a friend here. He just bought a gift and sent it to me

22.
Spots, do you do knives from horseshoes ? I saw some over at the gunshow that looked interesting (in form), so I thought of you. Bert
Yeah Ive made a few from them. They are fun lil knives.
23. I spent a few days this week building up some stock to sell. I present to you my interpation of the bowie knife Jim Bowie used on the sandbar. All accounts of the original knife point towards a heavy guardless butcher knife with a sharpened clip point. These are made from horse hoof rasp, with pirpleheart handles on a full tang. The smaller one is 9.5" long blade. I forgot to get measurments on the larger one. 24. I have limited internet right now, but Ill post a short response. That was the craziest, coolest test ever. I built that knife on a whim a few years ago, and always liked the feel of it, though it looked funky. You are a crazy man Dave, and a very entertaining writer. While I encourage hard use, Im afraid I can't warranty a broken handle due to a hammer strike lol. Though I do believe a good paracord wrap and that one might just be unbreakable..... Thanks for the amazing test, and hopefully your lil buddy overcomes his fear of explosives soon....
25. Me and a buddy spent a day making some blanks. These are all getting final ground tomorrow, then handled this weekend. We made two medium full tang bowies, a tanto point, a small edc skinner, and a kirdashi japanese style utility knife. The lil knife is a perfect edc work knife, sharper and sturdier than a box cutter, and great for multipile task.
