Well, the travel ban is only effective at stopping ebola if you travel from Texas to Ohio on a plane. If you are traveling from an infested country TO the USA, then it is not effective. You all have a lot to learn!

:panic: Looks like the preface of an Alex Jones book there

***Not meant to be a thread about ebola and the current clusterf*** going on with that mess*** Thought a thread concerning this from a technical & preparedness viewpoint would be good to get going. I seen Matt Drudge came back form the dead on Twitter to post "self-quarantine" on his account which got me thinking... To what level could someone reasonably self-quarantine if you lived near anyone. How would you all deal with work, or getting supplies that you may need. How would you deal with utilities & services if they stopped working. This would be like a short-term issue, maybe 6 months or so and not a total SHTF the world is burning & Alex Jones is president kinda thing. I think most of us here have limited resources and funding, so how would you decide on what money is to be spent on which supplies/resources? Obviously on this forum I think just about everyone has the security part covered, but food & water, get a gas generator or a solar panel that is quiet but does fractional levels of power etc... Would be interested to hear everyone's take on or your plan if you've already got one, to deal with a self-induced lockdown for a serious plague/pandemic etc..

I watched that soap box rant he made and it sounded to me like he was worried more about losing money in the stock market over this than anything else.

You're going to need more than 40 pounds with everyone from TGO coming to your place.

Someotherguy, that's impossible because Ebola is hard to catch. You have to have sexual intercourse on a Thursday between 3:27pm and 4:13pm while jumping up and down on a pogo stick that was built by an ancient monk from Argentina and imported by a virgin nun in May of 1974. Any other circumstances outside of that make it nearly impossible.

Just thought of something else.... I wonder if it is the dns setting on the modem. G, power cycle your modem and see if it starts working. Not sure why I didn't think of that sooner.

Doing Tagalog cause I've been married to my wife for 4 years now and only know about 10 words of her native language.

Sort of an off-shoot, but hypothetically speaking, someone I may have known years back knew the day they were going to quit, so that morning they shredded every document, form and memo within 10 feet of their office. Typed up a resignation letter and walked out. A few days later other people quit because it was such a mess and the business called back offering a huge pay increase to come back. Best thing that guy ever done was walk out the door and never look back :) Back to the OP, I don't know your specific circumstances, but am thinking that you should've taken that info with you. Have never seen a place that will let you in to claim property after you've been let go. Especially when the business took the preemptive action.

OS, I was buying the one for Tagalog and signed up to try the demo. About 5 minutes after signing up, they sent the emails with the discount. Peace - no clue on that one, it only charged me $20ish for taxes

radarnow is the best weather app on the market. All those others ones are so full of advertising garbage now.

correction... they just lowered the price down to $209 for the rest of the day: http://www.rosettastone.com/lp/nolang/emblueboi/?cid=em-g1-rs-1013-o180d-209dt&rmid=US_1013_o180d_209dt&rrid=580942855&cvo_cid=rosettastone.1742875&cvosrc=email.responsys.US_1013_o180d_209dt

Rosetta Stone is running a discount through today, 36 month subscription is knocked down from $499 to $229. http://www.rosettastone.com/lp/nolang/embluebbi/?cid=em-g2-rs-1013-n180d-m30d_229&rmid=US_1013_n180d_m30d_229&rrid=580942855&cvo_cid=rosettastone.1736395&cvosrc=email.responsys.US_1013_n180d_m30d_229 The main page says $249, but if you follow the link above it should take an extra $20 off. Figured I would share here just in case someone was looking cause it's a pretty big discount.

Well, we figured out where the CDC is getting their information and creating their models from

We're all coming to your house for an ebola party; gonna invite an infected person over and all jump in the hot tub with 'em!

And BAM... Another few million $ wasted testing someone out that just returned from Liberia. http://news.yahoo.com/patient-isolated-massachusetts-clinic-displaying-ebola-symptoms-newspaper-200117720.html Reports said today that there were only about 150 people per day coming from these areas, we need to tell them too bad so sad. No flights available.

Could be a few things: dns, host file or firewall rule. Ping Walmart.com, get the ip address, then use the ip in the address bar instead of the name. If that works, it's a dns issue and you can do an ipconfig /flushdns at the command prompt to fix that.

Double tap

That's no bueno. I really hope that Dr didn't pass it on to a bunch of other patients.

Case #2 in Texas - one of the staff taking care of patient 0 http://news.yahoo.com/state-health-officials-2nd-ebola-case-texas-102955708.html That story says there's also a second person in isolation at the hospital and they've stopped taking new patients at the emergency room. Now we've got a whole new issue to be concerned with that wasn't thought of... What happens at these rural hospitals if someone shows up with ebola and they have to shut it down? Back home where my parents are, there is one hospital within 60 minutes at a minimum. ER goes down and that puts a whole bunch of people at risk. That dr. that dressed up in protective garb in the Atlanta airport had said last week that we need to set up fever tents and keep these people away from the hospitals - he seems better suite dot head the CDC than the current dude.

Especially in that theater room, having the night sky light up like that when everything dims down while watching a movie would be great.

This guy does amazing work, I've never seen anything that is basically two different paintings on normal light and under black light on this scale before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnDci10eRTQ

Yep, they said it took less than 1 hour to exhaust all resources of the Dallas health department when that was confirmed.

Unvaccinated immigrant children that stormed across the border this year? And you can just ship the Nobel to me, no reason for a ceremony.
