  1.   Oh those scumbags are already in the hospital trying to get pictures of the bloody shirts to use in a marketing campaign... you can bet a Big Mac on that.
  2. disregard that initial video, it looks like the US Army has had one of these mounted on an M1A1 for a while now:
  3.   No worries, it's not airborne!
  4. Seen this in the news this morning, pretty cool although I don't fully understand how they got this video of it working.   http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/10/23/a-real-life-star-wars-laser-bullet-caught-on-camera-this-is-what-it-really-looks-like/   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNTZ7MY2rl8
  5. Pellet stoves worked much better than wood for my grandma's house, but you can go broke if you run out of bags and have to buy some during the winter. Not sure I would recommend them to anyone who is physically able to deal with wood, especially if they have a stockpile of it
  6. This is the kind of use our military equipment should be getting in peace time, not going to ebola land to fight off the zombies.
  7. That thing runs pretty good for the ridiculous amount of interference that would occur on an RC.

+1 for whitaker's, they're great people to work with.
  9. I think he meant toilet bids, when the hotel sells used toilets on craigslist.
  10. The 'doctors' may have been a bad term to use.  The correct term should have been "the bozo in charge of the CDC" himself stated they did not know how it was transmitted during his congressional testimony:
  11.   saying anything of the such is silly, the doctors are saying they don't understand it.  The only people that say it's impossible to catch are the same ones saying that we shouldn't put a travel ban in place, but that if you have it inside the USA that you are to be quarantined and not allowed on flights or other public transportation..   It's all about keeping people from panicking, well that and incompetence.
  12.   Walking into a room with an infected person is not a ridiculous scenario.   I would do it with a cancer patient   I would do it with an HIV patient   I would NOT do it with an ebola patient, and my guess is that you wouldn't either.
  13.   But if it can not be transmitted through the air, then the fact that it is an enclosed room is not different than being around someone in the open air.   This is the problem, everyone says Oh don't worry, it's not contagious hardly at all no matter what anyone says.  Then you ask them if they are willing to risk sitting in a room with an infected person and there's always an excuse on why that is completely different.   If it was not transmittable by air, then closed room or not, you could not catch it unless you physically touch something or the infected person.  However, this ebola thing scares them so much they put containment chambers inside of containment chambers with filters and filters for those filters to ensure it doesn't escape.
  14.   So you would have zero issue walking into an enclosed hospital room with no protection with an infected person?    I would suggest you run back through the SARS fiasco.  That was claimed not to be "airborne" either... but people kept getting it because the infected people were sneezing and coughing.
  15.   They're playing semantics with it.  Saying things like "well, airborne contagions are considered to be .399 microns and below and ebola is .401"   If someone can sneeze or cough in a room and you can walk through the area while those particles are floating in the air and catch it, the sh!t is airborne.  I don't care what kind of technicality they try to use to sweep it under the rug.   From the WHO:     In an effort to show that I am not putting selective info out there - they do state that there are no known studies that document this type of transmission, but they also cannot isolate the specific mode of transmission for those cases where people have contracted it.
  16. I had an original Gopro and got rid of it a long time ago for a Contour.  The Contours became a lot more popular with people on the racetrack because the clarity was much better with all of the signal interference and G forces occurring.   Can't speak to the quality of the new GoPro's, but I would buy a new contour before even considering another GoPro.   <edit> I just did a quick search and seen this thing:  http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HDR-AS100VR-Action-Camera-Remote/dp/B00HNJWTDW   Has remote screen you wear like a watch and can see the action live.  That's pretty cool
  17.     It's actually cheaper if you can do it at a festival or some kind of event.  We just had both of ours chipped at some Nashville dog festival or something a couple of months ago and it was $25 each.  The vet doing the work had volunteered his time and all they were charging was the cost of the device.
  18.   $80 is a fraction of what some rescues charge, it doesn't sound like this guy had any kind of scam set up.  Hell, we pay our friends $25/day to watch our dogs when we're out of town.
  19. People drinking at a party/gathering thought it would be funny to shine a laser pen at a police helicopter.  I guess they weren't aware of how well those FLIR systems work    http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=c24_1413472621
  20. And now here we go transferring infected foreigners into our country to treat them and clog up our system.   http://www.breitbart.com/InstaBlog/2014/10/17/Judicial-Watch-Obama-Plans-to-Transfer-Ebola-infected-Foreigners-Into-U-S-for-Treatment
  21. Yeah, at this point they are looking Sarah Palin look intelligent, and that is no easy feat.
  22. Every proxy layer that is introduced, reduces the likelihood that it will be transmitted. Why put a fence on the southern border if the fence itself can be climbed over? Because it makes it harder for illegals to enter. It's not a be all end all solution just like the travel ban, they're both just single parts of a layered or collaborative strategy.
  23. One thing I didn't really think of that Glenn Beck mentioned he was doing the other day was picking up a few jugs of chlorine to keep on hand and use in a sprayer if they need.  I had never thought about that specifically before, as we keep bleach around but they will ruin just about everything it touches.
  24.     When people are incompetent, they normally react defensively because they don't have the foresight to understand what can and should happen.  Ebola wasn't going to happen and we shouldn't worry about it, but it did happen and now they are reacting in a horrendously bad fashion.   This has been the way almost every event has been addressed for the past few years he's been around.
