  1.   back-lit instead of side-lit make a huge difference with those as well
  2. couple of things to remember   They HAVE to pay you diminished value for the accident.  Your car now has a lower resell value because there is an accident on the title.  Don't let them screw you around on that because they will say "the car was only worth $8000 to begin with, we're not dealing with a Corvette so diminished value doesn't apply" or something similar to get you to back off that, but don't.    Don't use their shop, find your own and deal with them directly.  Their shops have a contract with them because they do cheap work, not because they do OEM quality work.   You need to get reimbursed for any time and trouble that you lose dealing with this mess.   Don't need to exaggerate anything, but they need to compensate you 100% for everything this has caused.  You didn't ask to be ran into, their customer did it to you.   Getting it fixed or getting the payout is personal preference,  I wouldn't personally be able to drive around a wrecked car just because it would irk the crap out of me knowing I took such good care of something just to have someone else ruin it.   <edit> and remember the most important thing... they don't care about you or the car, they care about how little they can get away with paying you - because that's the job of their claims department.

The cameo at around 7:30 makes the whole thing worth watching    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qanlirrRWs
  4. From my experience... Kimbers are not any better than any other decent 1911, but you do pay a premium price for that name engraved on the side.  Wesson was the smoothest 'out of the box' 1911 I've ever shot.  $2000+ worth of smooth?  hell no.   Learned from this ATI Fatboy that you can take a cheap(er) 1911, invest a few hundred in work and parts and have it shoot as good if not better than those high-end ones.  Mine now has about $600 of purely functional upgrades on a $600 gun and I would put it against any 1911 on this board outside of some dedicated crazy match pistol.   There are just so many options available for every single part of a 1911 that you could easily put a low end one in the same arena as a high end gun for a fraction of the cost.
  5. XD's are only top heavy with an empty magazine.
  6. Keep your spirit up man, whatever you're dealing with, the doctors have seen it before and they know how to fix it.  It might just take a couple of tries to get on the right path with you.   Also a word of advice from personal experience, keep yourself occupied, keep your brain occupied... just keep busy whether it be with your family, reading books, watching a movie or counting rocks on a gravel road. An idle mind will get to you in a situation like this.
  7. News flash...   If a firearms company is having trouble staying in business right now, switch production to .22lr and that will take you out for another year at least :)
  8.     Looked at their website, no Cabela's listed.  Looks like they focus on building what I've always referred to as 'pods'  where they have a bunch of houses/condos with shopping around them so the people never really need to leave their pod to do anything.
  9. 4k is WAY overpriced right now and very few things actually have 4k quality that you could use on the TV. Any smart TV is going to have a wireless adapter built in, don't worry about looking for that.  Also don't worry about the HDMI's, all TV's have them now.   Here's a list of the available ones on Black Friday.  Looks like there's a 65" Sharo Aquos for $688 @ hh gregg   http://bfads.net/Category/Televisions?sort=Most-Expensive&category=Televisions&subcat=LED&page=2
  10.   You have a pair of deer?  That's pretty kick ass
  11. Don't knock Springfield for the "Grip Zone" thing, they're just trying to take back some of the Glock market share from owners that fell for their gimmicks and marketing :)
  12.   You're a big dude, hipsters are little scrawny guys... Plus it's easy to tell someone who has worked all their life doing that kind of stuff or if they're doing a John Kerry and trying to "get him a huntin' license" kinda thing
  13.   They're calling these guys "rugged hipsters"
  14. Pretty much sums up the new fad! http://www.buzzfeed.com/mrloganrhoades/introducing-the-hot-new-trend-among-men-lumbersexual?bffb
  15.   It's not a Glock, so it should be pretty decent.
  16. Just seen these pop up somewhere else, guess I found my new springfield.
  17.   I use a Kobo Glo because it was cheap and had the best screen light.  Some of those readers have irregularities on the screen because the light doesn't go evenly across it, you'll see it brighter in some spots and dimmer in others.  There may be better models out now, but I won't be upgrading until this one breaks.   <edit>  this one does all the regular formats and works on a drag and drop method as well so you don't need to install any extra software on the computer to transfer files.

    Lights.

No way man, hearing that first Christmas song in the stores means that I need to minimize my outings for at least a month because you won't be able to get in and out of a store without getting punched, kicked, stabbed or walked over.  Don't even get me started on the parking lot issues.   On the opposite end of the spectrum is my wife, she would leave up the tree & lights all year around, not because we were too lazy to take them down but because she honestly likes them.  Normally I tell her we can leave them up until whenever, but then as soon as she leaves for work I have to go take them down, box them up and put 'em in storage so she doesn't try to hang them up again when I leave.

      My kinda Christmas
  20. Not sure what it's all about?
  21. Heard on the radio a bit ago that they were even looking to put an archery section in there.  31 lanes + an archery shoot in there place will be like disney world if they follow through with it.
  22. I buy every 500+ pack I see, out of principle.

She's leaving me with a freezer full of healthy choice frozen meals lol   On a side note, if you all want anything from there Lager just pm me, I'll get her to bring it back.  The only thing we usually bring back are a bunch of pearls, so she may be able to stuff some other stuff in the bag for you.

    Lights.

No way.   Wife is going back to the Philippines for Christmas this year so I don't have to put up anything!  No lights.  No tree.  No decorations.  It's gonna be awesome
  25. "go through all 7 or 8 rounds"?    Let me know how many rounds you have left after a 3 second firefight.   The only reason there's only 13 rounds is because anything more gets into full size & impractical carry weapons.
