We've got a decent sized area on the side of the house with a nice sitting area and sidewalk made from paver stones going over to the pond. Over the past few weeks, I've been working at digging up the dead shrubs, and pulling out the rubber mulch (there was a metric **** ton of rubber mulch everywhere). I did however leave some of the mulch (few inches deep in some areas) to level off the ground. Started to put down weedblock and was going to fill in everything with some kind of river rock or pea gravel, but got to thinking about just seeding it and growing grass. Question I had was, if I just dump a few inches of top soil on top of the dirt that is there now (and the mulch in some spots), then seed it, is that enough, or would the ground need to be tilled up a few inches? The dirt is pretty hard from being packed under that mulch for probably 7-10 years or so.

Simplisafe is a pile of shit. We put it on our apartment in Brentwood and we moved out about 30 days before the lease was up, but left the system installed to make sure no one came in and vandalized the place before the lease ended and we turned it back over. Come to find out, the base station had stopped reporting to their control center for 7 DAYS again SEVEN DAYS before I got an alert saying that there was no communication link between it and the so called 24x7 monitoring they provide. Then, we found out the maintenance workers had went through our place because they seen us moving out, and the alarm never went off during that time. We had door sensors on every door, + 3 motion sensors in a small 2 bedroom apartment and nothing was ever triggered when they came in. We had ACE Alarms install a system on the new house and couldn't be any happier. Completely wireless, keypads instead of key locks on the doors, a plethora of other sensors throughout and the control panel pings the monitoring center every 15 minutes even when it's not armed so you know if it's working or not. BTW in case I didn't mention it before, do not spend a penny on that simplisafe garbage.

My guess is that they are just trying to get the heat off the cop that did it because he doesn't want the attention, and doesn't want anyone messing with his family. For that, I commend him. Although if it was me... This would be on the front page of every news paper and website:

Since the cheaper stuff is good, I may have to give that a go next time around... If I can find it somewhere, haven't seen that bottle before.

Have you tried George Dickel? That's about the only TN stuff I can handle (yellow label/90 proof). Other than that I'm a KY bourbon fan pretty much all the way. Some of the higher end stuff is ok, but I have a hard enough time bringing myself to pay $25 for a bottle of something that will take a couple of years to drink anyways.

Someone needs to get ahold of some Black Booster, it's only $3 per 5 liters

I wonder if they will allow people to use AP ammo so we can get the effect of an enemy returning fire?

Yeah, I've seen the secure phones out now, but those things are impractically priced for 'normal' people.

Good info man, thanks. I knew they were doing this, but didn't know we had any options to alert us as end users that it was happening.

Note To Self, Roadrage, Motorcycles, and Following someone Home, is a No No

I never got mad at people cutting me off on a bike, because EVERYONE does it ALL the time. Hell, most people I know would be backlogged 6 years on the "who to chase home today" list. -
Just do what Steve Jobs did and tell him it is the most technologically advanced system that has ever existed, the fact that it is impractical and built from old & cheap hardware has nothing to do with it

Replace it with an array of USB drives, viola. Enjoy coffee night.

Sounds like the man upstairs is already taking care of things, glad you're ok!

BTQ, I don't think there's going to be many more of those $100 PPV's after this one .

The underdog fights were bad and that interviewer was just as bad as all three fights were. Mayweather did exactly what he does every time, win with the least amount of fighting. Pacquiao just didn't bring his game, but I don't think he cared because he'll still pocket $100 mil for losing.

We bought this house 2 years ago with a VA loan and had no issues with it, but it was also fairly new and was move in ready... The VA inspection showed some things that most would not even blink at, but they had to be remediated before the deal could go through. I think there was a total of maybe $2,000 tedious things the sellers paid to get fixed that we could've fixed ourselves for a few hundred bucks and not even worried about. Unfortunately the thing about the VA inspections is that they pick from a pool of inspectors in the region and you never know which one is going to do the property, so you can't pick them like you can the appraiser which makes it impossible to know what you should look out for outside of the major items (roof, electrical, plumbing, structure etc). edit I'll dig through the paperwork this afternoon and see if we have a copy of the actual VA inspection report and shoot that over to you so you can see what it looks like. -
Just as I see Toyota owners going into the bank once a month to make a payment on that loan that was quadruple what I paid cash for my GMC ;)

This one is going to be more of a circus than GZ's trial, and that one was at the top of the list since OJ's.

I was thinkin a 40" or something, good lord!

Bought an 05 gmc canyon 4wd 2 years ago and love it, thought about getting rid of it a few months back but reality set in and a paid off truck is worth a lot more than a nicer awd car with a payment.

I love how the reporters can't even put the article in context and they have to copy & paste the NSN of the loader lol "Tractor, Rubber Tired, Articulated Steering, Multipurpose Vehicle"
