  1. Have to say I was a bit sad - bought some glasses and all that jazz to watch the eclipse & then forgot about it and decided to schedule a flight out of town that morning. Guess I'll sit in the middle of the desert and use those things to watch a partial eclipse instead.
  2. they couldn't get you prices on boat & home as well? My home & auto is split up now through two companies with Zander and it still saves a metric ton.
  3. That's surprising, never know unless you try though!
  4. Glad I'm not the only one that happened to... and mine was traded into a damn dealer!
  5. Yes it is! Anyone moving from KY to TN will give an amen to this. When I first moved, I was able to get insurance for both cars & a motorcycle for the same monthly price I was paying for one of the cars in KY. Same cars, no changes, even the same insurance provider, except the residence changed from KY to TN.
  6. Give Zander insurance a call, they will do the shopping for you & you would have an idea of what is available before you speak to your agent. I will never get sucked into staying with the same insurance company for no reason, ever again. Just as everyone says, it seems like the longer you stay, the higher it goes.
  7. Thanks, as with anything stock is not good enough so I'm gonna pull off the tube and chop it up and install a 3 round extension to get it to 8+1 which is a more reasonable number
  8. not sure who you use for insurance, but I would recommend calling Zander insurance. I heard about them on Dave Ramsey's show a couple of years ago and never thought they could actually save that much money. Turns out they got me slightly better homeowner's coverage for literally 50% of what I was paying, and auto insurance for both vehicles at over 30% less than I was paying, for more coverage. They basically shop around at a bunch of different places for you so you don't have to do anything, and send you documents explaining the top three plans they find so you can compare them easily. The ones they sent me were reputable places and had an AM Best rating of A
  9. $350 shipped isn't bad for a new gun. If it was a difference of $500+ then I may have considered buying used, but honestly, $100 isn't worth the hassle of not knowing the history. Plus it's easier to click the order button on grabagun than it is to search used listings, contact people & go meet them or to go shopping around town at stores.
  10. so apparently the mystery gun I got was a tristar raptor. It goes bang, that's about the only thing I could tell you at this point. Don't expect much from a $300 shotgun anyways lol
  11. As much as it pains me to say this, a ticket quota for a cop is no different than one of us being required to repair 100 widgets a week at work, or whatever we do. I never complain about getting tickets for speeding or parking (that BS incident from 2011 was the only time in my life I've had an issue with tickets). It's stupid to even argue with the police over them, for the most part they don't randomly pick a car and go pursue it to charge them with something.. and as a regular speeder, I figured that one ticket @ $100 or whatever they are now every few years is well worth the time it saves me over those years.
  12. I was half asleep when ordering it, and forgot about it until the range called a little while ago and said the gun was in. I honestly can't remember what it was so I want to surprise myself tomorrow & not going to look at the invoice/emails to see what the model was.
  13. Ordered some semi auto shotgun from grabagun the other day, can't remember which one, it was the cheapest thing that didn't look like a hunting gun that popped up. Figured out of my entire collection, I've only got one beater gun and needed to expand that sector Plus I still got a couple of new fast fire IIIs left over from last year and need to put the darn things on something.
  14. Good, this will hopefully ensure the investigation is performed by people not able to be influenced by the guy.
  15. I'm not sure about it man, I thought the same until reading some of the responses of fellow Canadians on their FB pages. One guy said similar: And his story checks out (quick google of his name). He was charged with those for having a knife and defending himself against a thug with a gun. http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/ottawa-police-lay-more-charges-in-sept-8-stabbing
  16. Seen this can the nraila site a bit ago. In short robbers broke into a home, resident wrestled a gun away from robbers, shot at robbers, then the resident was charged with all of these crimes : Munroe faces charges of attempted murder, intent to discharge a firearm, intent to discharge a firearm when being reckless, careless use of a firearm, improper storage of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing that possession is unauthorized, and possession for the purpose of trafficking. Good freaking grief!!! http://thechronicleherald.ca/novascotia/1487818-break-in-suspect-shot-man-in-home-charged#.WXM6Wmvlgdg.facebook
  17. Yep, the realism is what made it so good. I wont do a spoiler and ruin it for anyone, but some parts of those fighting scenes will startle you lol
  18. You'll love it, hope you don't get dizzy easily lol
  19. congrats, if you ever need parenting advice from someone without kids, just shoot me a message!
  20. A little harsh with the accusations there aren't we? While mostly unhinged, we do try to express some level of respect for each other on the board. This is one of the few places on the internet that is *nearly* troll-free.
  21. Yeah, I'm the first guy to make fun of stupid criminals and lean heavily towards he side of LEO pretty much every time, in almost every situation. This is a different scenario though, and I'm not blaming the police department, this is an issue with some out of control PEOPLE that just happen to be cops.
  22. did not know this. Doesn't matter, I still wouldn't pay them a penny. <edit> this is where i got confused - I knew Andy Holt put something out about it last year, had to do some google-fu http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/politics/2016/05/27/tennessee-lawmaker-burns-traffic-camera-ticket-urges-ignore-them/85049454/ Was confused about what he said.
  23. But that also says that the notice must be verified and sent by a state certified LEO - and none of the notices are. they're just automailed by the sham companies.
  24. unfortunately, the eye for an eye 'concept' is applied in the opposite manner for which it was intended. back a few days ago when they implemented it, it was put into place to limit the maximum punishment, not to make it equal. it began because the people in power started to punish people excessively i.e. confiscating someone's home because they stole a loaf of bread or whatever.
  25. From what I read, he was in the chair for 3 hours before they started hitting him with the taser hard. Not sure how long he was in it after the festivities started. Another trend I noticed while reading around on it was that the overwhelming defense that is being used in this case is (effectively) "but the cops have to deal with bad people all the time". WTF does that have to do with anything? Not much going for them on a strong defense.
