Yeah, think we covered everything from global warming to making no-bake cookies in about two hours.

@Mike.357   $199   Wouldn't have bought it if it cost anything remotely close to a real gun.

Just one of those things, they probably sell a lot of them for the same reason... have them on the shelf beside 1911's, so you're looking and looking at the nice stuff and then WTF is that thing contaminating the scenery?

Not only does it have a rail on the bottom, it came with a rail for the top too!

This one is definitely just a talking piece. It's one of the first models that requires an update, and the company is so cheap they just put the parts in a bag in the box and you have to do the upgrade yourself. This thing is comical. They even make a silencer kit so you can mount one on it.
  8. The bushes, I have no clue what they are but they don't flower.  Guess I'll go ahead and take them out today.   Thanks
  9. While waiting on Rugerla to show up at the armory today I scoped out quite possibly the ugliest gun ever built. the .22lr zip gun. Had to buy it for purely novelty purposes. Have not shot it, don't really intend on it but from what I read online, this thing should shoot sub-MOA unscoped at 1200 yards. Is definitely in the leagues of my AR10, and since the ammo is cheaper I may just start using it to hunt large game. Here she is in all of her glory - haven't came up with a name yet but some on the internet know it as "possibly the most pointless gun that has ever been built"
  10. Found a million different answers on the interwebs, but I have a strip of bushes, no clue what they are.  they've been trimmed to about 7 feet tall, 2 feet wide. and the top 2-3 feet of them has about 50% dead in them from the ice storm last year.  Want to cut that entire section out, but not too sure what time this fall they should be cut.  Is there a general rule around TN for doing this, or is it literally any time in the fall that is ok to chop them?
  11.   There was always friction near bases overseas, once you got a few miles away, the locals were 'usually' pretty nice.  Same thing in all three countries.   The only attribute I could associate with it was that near the base, the locals had to put up with the drunken, boisterous soldiers and got fed up with it because it was their home too.  The locals further out never really dealt with the issue because the drunks & trouble makers never really seemed to make it more than one town away from base.
  12. Yep its all about VM right now. Server 2016 is brining virualized networking on board to give VMware a run for their money, but I think they're a little late in the game on that part. VMware has the entire market cornered with some awesome solutions
  13.   Not necessarily, depends on the job itself.  With many certs now expiring every few years requiring a renew, businesses aren't as focused on that because they understand it's become a racket.   Except for the higher level certs like CISSP, MCSD or E, CCIE etc.  Those come in pretty strong.
  14.   & you'll get a 6% raise just from not having to pay state income tax!
  15. Hey man, just start looking.  Benefits were good at my last place, but I was literally stuck with zero promotion opportunity for a minimum of 5 more years (after I had already been there for 4).  Spent almost a year straight of searching every single day, but refused to give up & finally had the opportunity to transfer.  Same pay, same type of work, same benefits, but there's a ton of promotion potential after I learn the new systems.   Just start looking, because the one day you aren't, is the day the opportunity to move on passes you up.  I'd rather be told no and I don't qualify 100 times for a promotion/new position than sit around and wonder what would have happened if I tried.   If you think you can do better, then get your stuff together and start working on it and leave that negativity & stress behind you.
  16.   Mine was black, tried two different high-end jewelers to see if they could fix it they both said they wouldn't touch it.  I'll probably end up selling or trading it after dealing with this mess cause I dropped it the first time it had been worn in over a year and the result was it costing me as much as a new gun.  forget that stuff.
  17. damn that sucks man, hope you find something soon.  I haven't been in the private sector for about 10 years, back then I never seen any kind of policy like that.  Is it common now to see those kinds of policies? They didn't care about buy/sell/trade whatever as long as it wasn't inside their buildings.
  18.     Yeah and don't buy one of those either.  I just got hit with a $700 bill to replace a clip on one of those because of a scratch.  When it gets back it's going in the safe and will never be worn again.
  19.   Herman Cain had it figured out years ago "build a fence 20 feet tall, then electrify it and to be politically correct, put a sign on it that says "warning this fence will kill you" in english and spanish"
  20. Still funny!  Consider it duffleblog'esque
  21. someone raises the bar.
  22. Germany hands down.  I would sell everything I owned and fly out tomorrow if I knew there was a way I could support myself there.
  23. He was working on a full size 1911 in .40 about to start cutting the slide so it fit one of those funky barrels like this one on his site... less unsprung weight on the slide, more sprung weight on the barrel. muzzle flip dramatically reduced, he said shooting .40 out of them barely does anything and with the sight mounted on the barrel, it's easier to stay focused on the target. Think I need a double stack compact 1911 like this.
