  1.   No, the new rules require that you donate the gun in the classifieds of TGO as a freebie. Give me a 5 minute heads up before you post it!
  2. You mean like what? Wiping his computer with a cloth?
  3. There may be some people that use it in a cabinet, but I don't personally know of any.  Soda completely disintegrates during use, so you won't recover any useful material.  Also hozzie brings up another point, it's nothing like glass, so there's no telling how hard it will be to see anything.  Any benefits from a vacuum system would probably depend on the volume you're using.   I have never personally used soda but have been around plenty of people doing auto restores and never once seen it used in an enclosure.  All my parts I do with glass or aluminum.
  4. oh snap they have electric case loaders now?  Think the 1050 is out of my price range but may upgrade to the 650.     I never keep up with the stuff and honestly I don't do a ton, but any automation is cool for me
  5. have an rl 550b, is there anything on the market that is worth upgrading to or is this still pretty much the standard?
  6.   it's the sickness man, not our fault.
  7. Seen something interesting a bit ago.  So he says we must have a license to sell only at gun shows.  However, the ATF says that is illegal:   May a person obtain a dealer’s license to engage in business only at gun shows?   No. A license may only be issued for a permanent premises at which the license applicant intends to do business. A person having such license may conduct business temporarily at gun shows located in the State in which the licensed premises is located, and sell and deliver curio or relic firearms to other licensees at any location. [18 U.S.C. 923(a) and (j); 27 CFR 478.100]
  8. As mentioned previously, my work is very important to me and every 5 years the investigation is re-conducted.  Even if only charged with something like that, (don't have to be convicted) they can pull my clearance and I can lose the job.  The stock is going next door until everything is approved.
  9. No biggie on it, neighbor would be more than happy to throw it on the shelf for a few months.
  10. Ah thank you, didn't know it was illegal to have both, thought they had to be attached. Will have someone hold onto it until everything is done. Good thing my ignorance brought up the topic.
  11. Not even worried, the factory backplate on the pistol will not be touched until everything is done. Being 15 years into a retirement that requires a security clearance subdues any desire to play silly games.
  12. Bait and switch alert! Nothing yet but the stock. Gun arrives next week, Zenith MKE Z-5RS. HKparts stock came in today so thought I would put a teaser up. Wanted this specific setup since I was a kid, would prefer an auto, but no bueno on that much $. Will have a can on it as well, but want to get the pistol in hand before deciding on a model. Step 1. Stock Step 2. Pistol Step 3. Waste ammo (skipped this step - mp5 pistol is about useless) Step 4. Form 1 - submitted approved Step 4a. Waste ammo - successful That was rapid firing two mags (mixed cheap ammo to see how it functions - this thing chews up aluminum case stuff, there will be no more of it) at 25 yards, standing with the iron sights (no adjustments made from the box). Rear sight is hard to get used to, it sits too low. Another issue was that it's strange holding the front hand guard, much more accurate if you hold it by the front of the mag well/mag. Probably going to go with optics on it even though I said I wouldn't. Step 5. Can & paperwork done Silencerco Hybrid :) , paperwork filed. Step 6. Waste ammo (need to order adapters and then will be able to fire it at the range, it came configured for .308) Step 7. Enjoy
  13. But again, what does a change.org petition do? Absolutely nothing when it comes to this stuff. If you want to make a change, call your reps. Email them. Mail them. Stop wasting time with silly third party petitions that do nothing except provide self-satisfaction to those involved.
  14. Hozzie, you bring up my exact point in another thread. Specifying what they are, scares people into subordination. They are being very specific mentioning that, and fear is what will cause the intended effect.
  15. Judge napalitano<sp> is one of the most hard core constitutional supporting judges that exist, he is the kind of person that we need in scotus. If his analysis of this situation is as stated above, I would believe it without doubt. He is looking at it from an objective legal angle where we look at it as 'past practice' or with personal investment.
  16. Already pm'd him about it, just set up a trust last month, my mp5 arrives next week and I have no clue what will be needed now to SBR it. He knows we anxiously await, but I'm sure there's a ton of stuff that needs to occur before he even knows what the hardline is.
  17. There will be 1000 petitions pop up and none of them will accomplish anything. If you want something done, get on the phone and call your reps. Keep their phones tied up for weeks. Send that out instead of a petition
  18.   If you got one of these letters and on the form it has you and him listed, it appears you are good to go.  Wish I was healthy, I'd sure as heck be on this, would save a few thousand a year.

  20. OK, so I think I stumbled upon something that may help the people that don't want health insurance, are vets and don't want to pay for ACA/IRS compliant plans. First, my disabilities are not service-connected so I currently get no medical benefits from the VA. However I have been enrolled in the healthcare system from years back when I first got out and was in school full-time (they provide free healthcare for students or at least used to). *My situation may change in the near future though and will be applying for benefits due to situations that caused exposure to radioactive materials, among other things* Fast forward to today and I get a letter in the mail from the VA that has a form 1095-b showing that I was covered for the entire year with a compliant insurance plan. It costs nothing to register with the VA system if you're a vet, if you seek services with them, they just charge you based on your income level for those services. (I don't understand how it all works since I never go there for help, so you need to do your own homework on it.) Anyways, I was not aware that just being registered in the system counts as an actual health insurance plan in the eyes of the IRS. I have to have legit insurance due to the seriousness of my health issues, but understand that a lot of people don't want, nor care to worry about it. If you're a vet, this may be something to consider. Attaching a pic of the letter that came today - not attaching the 1095-b cause of personal info being on it. Hope this can help someone that may not need or be able to afford those ridiculously priced insurance plans. Go get registered in the system!
  21. famous people are always being sued over something, that's why if I came into a windfall I would just disappear.  the only time my name would show up is on a continual basis on atf forms when buying all kinds of unnecessary toys.
  22. hypothetically speaking, if one were to watch the screener, they would probably be disappointed.  4 chapters of dialog and 1 of kill bill action.  It is like watching stephen hawking park his wheelchair for 60 minutes then switching on the expendables for 10 minutes.
  23. Proposal #1
  24. what is this daisy mae thing you speak of.  Jade helm is definitely in the running.
  25. Understand, I felt the same way all the way until 2000-2001 when we got shipped to Macedonia/Bosnia.  Was going to save the world with my tank, but then they pulled us out of them and we had to do foot patrols.  When people shoot back, it's not as fun as it looks in the movies.  I got out the year after.
