Autozone loans tools, that's where I borrowed my bearing puller from. It was either a $20 or $40 deposit.

Everybody that owns a glock has. <runs. hides.>

If you work in the area, try out SATCO as well, it's right down the street. Best tacos around.

Guess it was a better idea in theory, not practice lol

If the charity thing is true, that's a load of crap. They're all about making money, they should let anyone design something as long as it meets whatever etiquette standards they have.

switch to a placard! I had to do that since my disability is not service-connected, I was unable to get a disabled vet tag (understandably) and vet tags sometimes get freebies for speeding. *wink wink*

an actual license plate. seems the process takes a bit but it looks pretty straight-forward on the dmv site to submit a request. just get some people to get an initial order, design it and send it in for approval.

What say you? Someone get it done and I'll sign up for one.

Yeah, I read both ways, no actual answer, that's why I asked. irrelevant now though I'm going to get it checked out on Monday at that all things engraving place. Said he does guns on Mon, Wed, & Fri

You mean like Grace Pointe Healthcare? http://gracepointehealthcare.com/services/fees/

+1 I couldn't tell you how many of the thousands of separate bills I've seen come through where they send the same charges on 3-4 different bills in different groups (to make it show a different total) so it looks like you owe them money. UT hospital did this about 3-4 months after the initial accident (BCBS appointed a liaison to handle all the bills for 90 days since there were so many) and the liaison went away I paid somewhere between $500-$600 in stuff that had already been paid. BCBS caught the discrepancy when I called to ask a question and UT refunded me the money after I called them. Ever since then, I read every single bill, every single charge and sort the EOBs by dates of service to keep track of it. If I wouldn't have called them out on it, they would have kept the money and not said a word. What pisses me off is that after 5 years of dealing with this, it appears that some places do it on purpose, and I think about them ripping off people like our grandparents that don't know any better. Worst one of all is Paige Prather (dentist) in Green Hills, thought she was great but she charged me a flat fee for work, then added more charges later, then more charges later and if I remember correctly, after everything was paid, her office sent my dental insurance the SAME EXACT bill 6 times over the course of a year after it had been paid and then told me I was responsible because the insurance never paid their part. (That's why I now go to GR8smiles on the board here. Haven't had a single issue with his office)

They're not free, unless I've been going to the wrong TGO coffee meets.

Just understand that there are a lot of people here who dislike technology and don't check the site or their emails as most of us addicts do.

When are you supposed to get the gun engraved? Before it is approved or after you get everything? Couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere. It will be on an actual gun, not just an AR lower.

Well it looks like you're now in a terrible position. Raoul, choosing one of our doctors over the other, may result in the loss of forum friendships. The only way to resolve this is to forgo quality and go to groupon to find a surgeon that gives coupons and none of us know. Please have the surgery video'd and post it here with the results. On a serious note, what tuffus said is important, the stronger you are going into surgery, the better it is coming out. The second thing I learned is that a good night's sleep helps recover faster than taking pain meds all day. Stuff will hurt, but take the minimum. It will motivate you to get better quicker on the days you want to sit around and just rest. Everyone is different, but honestly, good sleep and exercising every single day helped me more than anything. That surgery I just had around Christmas, I only did 3 therapy visits. One to baseline, one to check progress, and one a few days ago when the PT said "you don't need us anymore". As long as you stick to whatever they suggest, you'll be fine - they've probably done it a time or thousand more than any of us have and may actually know a thing or two about it ;)

If you're in the Vanderbilt area, let me personally recommend dr. Gregory Polkowski. I think he only does hip/knees, he's done two major ones on me and I couldn't be happier. The nurses in the ortho section of the hospital say his patients normally recover quicker than from the other docs. If you go shopping around, put him in the pool of candidates.

That was the plan from the start.

To answer your question - the basics are that you probably have an annual deductible of (let's use $1000 as a round number) $1000 for professional services (actual doctor labor fees), $1000 for hospital services (hospital stays and visits) and $1000 for medical equipment. Or you could have a straight-up $3000 annual deductible where you pay $3000 of the charges no mater what they are before you insurance even starts to pay (or you would pay up to $1000 in each of the categories - same deal as a generic lump sum deductible). That's your deductible. They you have coinsurance which is pretty much the same damn thing as a copay (from our perspective), but they separate them into two different things so they can charge you two smaller amounts to make you feel better instead of charging you one larger fee. Copays and coinsurance really hurt when you realize they don't necessarily count towards your deductible. And the medical device coinsurance fees are normally high. And copays/coinsurance don't necessarily count towards your annual deductible limit. All of your costs are contingent on the schedule of the plan that the doctor signed on to. Meaning if your doctor signs up to be a provider under Plan A and you are covered under Plan A, he can only charge you the set price for services that Plan A says he can. But no one will ever tell you how much you will pay for which services, if you want to know before you go to the doctor, you have to ask them to submit a preapproval which can take days to weeks depending on what the service is. Hope that explains the clusterf*** a little better.

That's what "THEY" want you to think.

It's all fun and games until jade helm changes the weather pattern.

I understand the not wanting to trade so asking for a higher value, but there are a lot of people that would legitimately want you to trade a $650 Sig for a $400 Glock 'because it's a trade'. Personally I specify NO TRADES unless there is something very specific wanted... But even then, on CL you could list you want to trade for a crescent wrench forged in Italy from the year 1967 by a one-handed worker by the name of Paul and you would still end up with 5 goons trying to trade you a fish tank, and some chopped up stolen copper from a power line.

.50 BMG is loud? Guess that tank really did screw up my hearing.

And if anyone wants, I'll sell them an ultra cool platinum level benefactor membership for $2/month more than what David charges. although they may end up looking the same, and possessing the same benefits, know that the ultra cool platinum benefactor membership comes with additional perks, such as: Contributing the economy at an even greater level Portions of the funds will go to sponsor someone who sponsored a child because of Sally Struthers in the early 90's Remaining portion of said funds will support a fellow TGO ultra cool platinum benefactor You can brag about your new elite status And the best part of all, you can sell in the classifieds! Don't wait until the offer expires! The first 15 people that take me up on this offer will be charged an additional $1/month as a convenience fee. <Just had a thought, should I wait until someone has at least ten posts before interjecting with dripping sarcasm?>
-
Well, I've seen a few items over the years pass through the classifieds here that qualified as top-tier CL ads. "Glock model XYZ - $400 cash, $650 trade value" Gun was $425 new, 5 years before. WTF OVER?!
-
Gotta be a benefactor to get to the thread - initially put it in the wrong place lol
